  2. 30540 lvl 20... woot lets hope i can keep in the top5 :') sloopy.
  3. no, its a particle board replica... particle board, particle board, does whatever plywood can... oh and that son is 7YO... sloopy.
  4. ugh, didnt realize how bad the pic was until after i posted it... sloopy.
  5. here are pics... it is a 64k model with a rev c mobo, i bought it at the same time i got my ICD MIO back in 1980 something... unfortunatly i dont have my MIO anymore, but still have my ATR-8000... i got a great deal on it from a company that did CP/M programming and used them as regular CP/M machines... overall internal sloopy.
  6. thanks bb, and here the formula is... the formula is simple illogic = unreasable thinking && clueless randomness ^ uncommon sense usually performed by three guys in my house: not me, idunno, ididntdoit sloopy.
  7. 10960 level 8 when i stopped using logic to stack them and started using illogic, i was able to break 5000 points... sloopy.
  8. i have seen this on my machine too, i always thought it was that fact 3 users are usually logged in and they have usually FF running with some sort of flash etc in them... i didnt really think about the fact it can run at 1500% unthrottled... machine has only 1.5G of ram so maybe i am running out? it is running a macroshaft OS (xp) sloopy.
  9. oddly enough on my wifes office machine here (mines has a dead OS HD) atari800win + runs at ~1535-1536% (amd 6000 X2) i wonder if it uses a ml routine in page 6 for this? the other working computer on this desk runs atari software at 100%, it only has a 1.79Mhz 6502C so i dont expect it to run too fast... sloopy.
  10. anyone wanna trade? i am currently 'employed by the great state of new jersey, as a job seeker'... (a.k.a. unemployment) oh and my son is named Joshua, coincidence? i think not my second son is named Quinn if anyone gets that reference... sloopy.
  11. Well, if you happen to find any schematics in your attic for adding SRAM into A800 ROM module, let me know. I have been trying to plug in a HM6116 2K SRAM into the FP ROM socket and can't get it to boot up. It boots up fine without the FP ROM or even with an A5200 ROM in it... well my first hardware project i am considering is something for the 800 (my first atari, and first love, second being 1200XL) and if you make a small circuit board with sram with battery backup and copy the fp rom to it, it will work... which reminds me i need to open up my 800 and see if the 802 is still in it... sloopy. If you have the schematic of the ROM card for A800, let me know where you get the W* (write) signal to feed into the SRAM. the OS connector probly doesnt have the r/w signal on it, you will have to get it from one of the ram slots... i dont see my hardware ref here handy, the binder i thought was it, was some C tutorial docs... but you can find them here on AA, which would probly be a good idea to have... http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/127483-atari-os-and-hardware-manuals-get-them-here/ sloopy.
  12. sn on my other 1200XL 72R DA 25430 253 made in taiwan (again) sloopy.

  14. yeah i rem those days, miss them alot... also rem that the only bookstore that carried a.n.a.l.o.g. was ~15-20miles away (antic could be had a mere 5 miles away...) and although my dad went to the bookstore often, he didnt go to the ones with it, so i didnt get them often... i rem when i got my first disk drive, was summer of '85 (i used a commodore before) and spent 4 days typeing in all the games in from both mags... my mother wasnt happy i stayed in instead of playing outside in the middle of summer... but, thank you both, you mag was a major impression on my youth, and have alot of good memories, of it... sloopy.
  15. nah, she told me years ago when we were dating so i didnt think much of it, and then when i saw the 2600 carts, she said 'o those are some of my atari carts' so i figured the 'atari' in the attic was a 2600... well i went up for something else, and looked while i was there and opened the box and it had an aura around it (had a spongebob moment ) and was like 'foley sheet'... i am sure the disks are deteriorated, we are at the jersey shore so it gets hot as up there as it does 'down' there... desiv, i just have one thing to say... 'Ha HA, i got a free A8 and you didnt ;'P' sloopy.
  16. yeah i was going to use micrositches at first, but tests show the cars didnt always activate the switches, so then i went to light sensing diodes, 3 per 90* turn track, 2 per straight. would have needed a light over head to work reliably, but did work in my tests, (to test i made a simple oval two 90* turns at end and two 15" straights, the computer would just show lights on the screen of where it detected the car, controlled by me... computer had no problems keeping up with car, but because of how they were checked (polled as opposed to int) if you used your hand and went quick it would lose some...) oh and that thing with the ribbon cable on top of my 800xl is an ostrich (eprom emu) sloopy.
  17. is that the rumored 'portable' small form factor 1200XL? and the percom isnt special... i have one over <--- there, with a 360k and 720k 5.25" floppy drives... along with a dual 3.5/5.25 drive next to it... sloopy.
  18. i have been married to my wife for 5 years, we have been living with her parents for 7.5 years, my wife told me she had an atari in the attic, i didnt really think much of it, she had ~15 2600 carts down here in the storage/garage... well today i went up there and looked... wow... found a mint condition 800xl, 1050, 1027, and time management disk, database disk, and atari writer cart, along with 30 blank floppys, and a composite color monitor... add to this the other day my neighbor gave me a SX-64 (works except for no kb cable) been a good week :') hopefully my eprom/gal programmer will come in this week and it will be like christmas :') sloopy.
  19. here is a pic of my 800xl on my desk while i was playing with mac/65 oh and picked up a nice find, got a commodore SX-64 from a neighbor, cleaned it out and reseated the chips and worked fine except for no kb cable... sloopy.
  20. 72R DA 06258 173 not made in the usa :'( i have another, but its buried... will get the SN soon... sloopy.
  21. I agree, it's almost like the 8-bit Atari computer doesn't exist when you go on to the main/home page of AtariAge x3... i only found it cause of this link when i was googleing for oss mac/65... http://www.atariage.com/software_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=2674 and it was on like page 4-5 of the search... sloopy.
  22. heh yeah you dont want to 'see' me good looks didnt get me much ;') i used them for various reasons, you can never have too many i/o lines on a machine, accomplished were, [e]eprom prg, simple networking scheme, scsi interface, controlled a stepper motor that dumped golf balls on my head to wake up (going to bed at 3-4am didnt make getting up for school at 7am, an easy proposition, a very crude xy plotter, 4meg ramdisk; that didnt require losing basic... never got to, ide 16bit controller, full room automation (yeah so i could turn on my desk light/monitor/tv when i walked in with a push of a button, even tho they were all within 3ft of me when in my chair...), a large grid of led's ( to make a sign of sorts), and the biggest project which i still wouldnt mind accomplishing is... to be able to control a slot car (tyco ho scale type) on a track and have it accel/deccel, depending and where on the track it was...
  23. Want to help remake journey to planets or help build our atari robot band? i was more a hardware person then software... and wasnt too much into games, had a few favs tho... crossfire (my first), raceing destruction set, the last v8, archon (when i could find a sucke... er another player), snofite (wish i could find this), FSII, autoduel... i will take a look and see whats up with those projects tho... sloopy.
  24. thanks, i am building my sio2pc now... its funny, i reg'd cause i needed something and someone said to pm/email them and they will send it, and i found it just looking for the person... odd... now i just need some decent project to do once i have my sio2pc and hd working :') sloopy.
  25. greetings, i have been a lurker here for a few years, and now have finally reg'd an account, i have been an atari user since '84 when i got my first Atari 800 (someone was throwing it out, needed a new OS card, and then worked fine) and have since owned 800's, 1200XL (my fav A8), 800XLs, 1300&65XE's... i have various disk drives (percom dual, several 1050's, used to have a XF551 years ago, Trak AT-D2(my first drive), ATR-8000) and still own a K-Products HD interface, used to have a MIO (256k, self upgraded to 1Meg) years ago, and have done many hardware upgrades to my atari's. my 130XE had/has the following: 2Meg Ram (with full BASIC capability) 4 OS switching (XE OS, OSB, Omnimon, custom OS) 4 6520's (1 stock and 3 add-on's) Mac/65 / Action! internal mod 1200XL keyboard mod 2 6552's installed my Atari 1200XL had 512k Ram 2 OS Switching (1200XL OS / 800XL OS) PBI mod 3 6520's installed (1 stock, 2 addon) altho i havnt done much with real hardware in many years, i have recently hooked up a spare 800XL i have here, and been playing with it recently, it is totally stock, and just bought the parts to make a sio2pc cable for it (needed project box, and some resistors, had rest in junk box). and found my OSS super cart (a cart i made from my old action card which has Action!, Mac/65, Basic XL, Basic XE), and have been playing with a little ML on it... well have a great day, and happy hacking... sloopy.
