btw, it was mission elevator that i was referring to

this is the best find yet. i loved that game =D. i hope the rom pack i got has that game just so i can hear the guy talk in the beginning

awesome.. those are indeed two of the games i was questioning. the golden path isn't as good as i remembered it, though. will be playing mission elevator today just to hear the sampled sounds when you open certain doors =D.

i actually checked out that tutorial before i came here. it said a wizard would open up at first, but it never did. no matter what rom i choose for that emulator, all i get is a black screen. haven't played around with any of this since my last post, but i'd like to find an emulator that doesn't give me so much grief =\

i originally posted this in the 8-bit forum, but then realized that i was asking about ST games rather than atari 130xe games. hopefully some of you can figure out what games these are. #1: it was sorta like those point-and-click king's quest games. it seemed to take place in a chinese-like setting. you played a old man who had to go about the country-side picking up items and solving puzzles. one puzzle involved having to find a pair of tweezers to remove a thorn from a lion's paw (i think it was a lion). #2: you scaled a building via stairs or elevator. there were doors on all the floors. you'd open them and something would happen... like there would be a man holding a boom box and he would say "yo!" or a little kid-like character would seem to be saying something like "hootnan! hootnan!" #3: this was a lode-runner-like game where you would climb ladders and whatnot. you could even build your own levels. the opening screen was some guy talking (never could make out what he was saying) and there was something like an organ playing in the background. i don't recall there being a lot of color to this game. the character was this tiny, hunchy-looking guy that reminded me of a caveman. anyone know these games?

awesome.. that is definitely the one =D. maybe you or someone else can help me with these, too. i am pretty sure they were atari 800xl. i was like nine years old, so i can't remember: #1: it was sorta like those point-and-click king's quest games. it seemed to take place in a chinese-like area. you played a old man who had to go about the country-side picking up items and solving puzzles. one puzzle involved having to find a pair of tweezers to remove a thorn from a lion's paw (i think it was a lion). #2: you scaled a building via stairs or elevator. there were doors on all the floors. you'd open them and something would happen... like there would be a man holding a boom box and he would say "yo!" or a little kid-like character would seem to be saying something like "hootnan! hootnan!" #3: this was a load-runner-like game. you could even build your own levels. it seemed to have a greek/roman them to it. the opening screen was some guy talking (never could make out what he was saying) and there was something like an organ playing in the background.

not sure if was 800xl or 130xe, but i played a game as a kid that i swear was called gauntlet, but it was some spaceship game and not the traditional gauntlet we know today with the warrior, elf, wizard, and valkyrie. it was a side-scrolling game where you'd go from screen to screen destroying other ships. i remember one of the weapons being called a trident. you could also blast away the terrain with your weapons. i used to like to dig tunnels under the landscape and fly underground from one edge of the screen to the other. anyone know this game?

it all seems so complicated. i am a simple kid of guy who like ease-of-use emulators such as nesticle and the like and am not very much into installing operating systems and whatnot. is there some step-by-step tutorial on how to get these emulators setup and ready to play games?

trying to get in on some retro gaming, but i can't find an emulator that i can get to work. i've tried atari800win plus, xformer, and atari++, none of which i can get to play my roms. i just want to play greats like zorro, bruce lee, droll, adventure creator, dandy, etc =(. i'll probably get yelled at for not searching the forums more in-depth-like, but why not get a new thread started anyway? =D
