it's a Star Trek lamp. Push a button and the base has LEDs that light up, the ship rotates, and Kirk speaks

New couch! It's foam.. Still waiting for it to FULLY expand. Also folds out into a futon!

My girlfriend was all for a game room, as long as I keep it clutter free. The closet has a few bins, one for each systems controller, wires, wall warts, etc. I'll post some pics once that is set up.

Why not do Intellivision/Coleco first? I can't be the only one with an Atarimax Coleco cart that would be interested in a set of overlays..

The lamp is awesome. My parents got it for me for Christmas a few years ago. I finally have a place to put it. I really haven't done much in the room, mostly going through every other room in the house and the basement, trying to consolidate all my gaming/computer stuff. I sold all of my Nintendo Powers years ago, but I still have Gamepros from 90 - 95.. Looks like I need a shelf for these. They are handy when trying to look for new games to play, however.

WTF goes through the mind of an eBay seller?
psquare75 replied to Zwackery's topic in Auction Central
Hey, I'm one of those sellers.. I have a set of wheels and I will not take less than $200 that I've had on CL for months. One guy offered me $100. I could scrap them for that. Ergo, they sit in my shed. Relisting only takes 10 seconds, if that. I'm not starving, nor do I really care of they sell. -
lol. D&D is (IMO) easier with a keyboard. Tron is easier with a controller.

Late to the game. I vote "controllers" and "keyboard only" scoring, separate. I for one would be curious to see which comes out better.

[AQUARIUS] Aquaricart: The Aquarius Album Cartridge
psquare75 replied to jaybird3rd's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
As an owner of this, and a longtime 'casual fan' of the Aquarius, since I was a child... If you have an Aquarius, you need this. -
$25 got me this media shelf, that I made brackets for. This holds all my 2600/7800 games. (DAMN YOU M NETWORK!)

Bumpage.

I have a Polyvox Decathalon (looks like Activision) and "Circus" (which I think is Circus Atari) in an Atari style case. Trying to thin the herd. I bought a Brazilian 2600 several years ago. Are these uuber special or anything? I can't find too much on these, and AA doesn't have cart scans of either.

New Atari Compatible Console & Controllers
psquare75 replied to Curt Vendel's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I got a set of those 7800 controllers from Best Elec. last year. I enjoy them.Seems like some 7800 games are DESIGNED for them. -

New Atari Compatible Console & Controllers
psquare75 replied to Curt Vendel's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Am I the only one not terribly concerned with guessing who has their name printed on the system? Put Sears. -
I don't have a picture of "before", but it was the typical spare room with ratty carpet. New paint on walls and trim, curtains and floor. Just picked up this TV stand tonight. Using a big (not sure of size, 22"?) tube TV. Plans are to keep the "CD" systems hooked up all the time, and use an AV switch box between them. (The 8 bit and 5200 are in there just to save space right now. The Genesis is too large to really move around, so that'll stay hooked up as well.) I'm going to do some shelf rails on the wall (similar to what a retail store uses), mount some shelves, and have one shelf per console.
-
I've still got most all of this. I'd love to trade for manuals, NES, SNES, 2600, 5200, 7800, etc.

New Atari Compatible Console & Controllers
psquare75 replied to Curt Vendel's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I have some 7800 pads and have used Master System controllers on my 2600. I always end up going back to my Wico sticks with the button on top. I can get a very good rhythm going in Enduro and Megamania with my eyes closed using a Wico, as opposed to using a game pad, where I may as well be catching baseballs with my feet. -

FYI, by 'price point' I meant... $179 would probably be crossing into the "do I need this" category. -
What is your position on modding your consoles?
psquare75 replied to SlowCoder's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Strictly AV type mods here, and mainly RF era stuff. My toaster NES uses an add on splitter Y cable to make stereo sound.. I didn't want to open it up. I bought a modded Brazil 2600 several years ago that works nicely, but the colors are off, being PAL-M. I also bought a modded/restored Coleco from Yurkie, who did a very nice looking AV mod to the unit. I did repaint the case from my 800XL computer because it had yellowed, but I used an OEM color. While I can appreciate the work that goes into some cosmetic mods, and ooh and ahh at the result(the AVGN's toaster NES comes to mind), I personally wouldn't want one. -

Want........ depending. NO ONE has mentioned a price point, and unfortunately, that's what matters to me.
