Saw this today in my feed and had to share, since many of us see so many (bad) CL postings: Have you been looking for that one last piece of 80's memoribilia to add to your collection? Well look no further. For sale is a Commodore 128 in its original box... but wait, there is more. If you're the next caller we're going to throw in the disk drive in its original package for free. Yes Free! Both the computer and the external disk drive bundled together make this a great gift for computer geeks, 80's nostalgia collectors or people who have heavy doors that need to be proped open. Originally retailed at $500, all of this can be yours for two easy payments of $75. HOWEVER, if you call right now, we'll cut those payments in half. You get the Commodore 128 and the disk drive for one easy cash payment of $75. Don't delay, our operator is standing by to take your order and arrange a time for you to come pick them up. Due to high caller demand, we are placing a strict limit of one on your order. Don't let this opportunity pass you by. Call now. 720-394-4538 Originally from http://denver.craigslist.org/sys/2526390117.html

Oh, you mean this guy? Epic awesomeness. -a2a That guy's tame - check this one out http://denver.craigslist.org/sys/2472047702.html -

Yeah I saw that - thought about it for a moment, and moved on. This ranks up there with the OMGRARE 600XL for $250 -

Try using AspeQT - Worked for me. -
Ordered my SIO2PC USB cable for Sloopy - arrived quickly and worked great! Definitely would buy from him again!

Thanks for the info - the non-glossy label scares me a bit about cleaning the cart - normally I don't have any issues with cleaning stuff, but I'm not working with carts that are worth that much When I do go to sell it, I'll put it up in the marketplace. I'm interested in keeping usable carts, not stuff that people can't touch, for fear of them breathing on it wrong

I'm surprised no one said "pics or it didn't happen" Well, here are the pics. I tested it and it worked, but it definitely needs to be cleaned. What condition was the one that sold a while back? I searched for it, but couldn't find a completed listing for it.

Hi, in one of my Craigslist runs, I actually managed to pick up a complete Spiker. I usually would clean the cartridges before selling, but due to the rarity, I'm hesitant. Thoughts?

So, after rebuilding one of the joysticks (I actually had planned ahead and had some flex circuits on hand - it looks like everything is working fine, all things considered. Man, I knew the controllers were bad, but I had no idea that they were this bad Thanks again for the help guys!

Not working as in Start not working (as in I can't test anything else without that) - I didn't think that it would really be 5-6 of them dying. I'll try the paperclip method. I'll have to see if I have either of those games to test. Thanks for the ideas guys!

So, I got 3x 4-ports a while back, 1 power supply, and a bunch of games and joysticks. When I went to hook one of them up, I found out about needing the switchbox. Ugh. So, after looking around, I decided to try Mitch's power mod - took a little while, but it worked perfectly! (Thanks Mitch!) The issue I'm running into now is the fact that none of the joysticks seem to work. After trying several of them, I've determined that it must be the system. Looking at the resistors around the connectors, those all seem fine. Any ideas what the issue could be, and where to start looking? I'm planning on doing the power mod on the other 2 machines so I'll have more things to check, but thought I'd ask (after searching and not finding anything) Thanks for any insight anyone can give me. - Ed
