Finally jumped on the current gen bandwagon with a Wii. Just played Wii Sports with my daughter and had an absolute blast.

And the emulation via the Virtual Console is excellent. Snes, Genesis, TG-16, N64, all very nice!

Wiiware has some gems too. Lots of great retro style gaming. World of Goo, Art of Balance, Taito & Konami remakes, etc.
Also, Club Nintendo points can now buy free downloads.
Amstari
Try the Trauma Centre games for something different. Also Metroid Prime and Zelda are awesome.
