No concrete information but..... I got a circle D pad Lynx the Christmas it came out in the UK. Either 1989 or 1990? Within 6 months the power socket gave up due to all the playtime and in that year I received a replacement but with the cross D pad. Even now I remember noticing the difference and preferred the circle D pad.

Thank you Karri for the cart and now the ROM. 2017 was indeed a great year for Lynx games. Merry Christmas everyone.
