  1. You can compare the various versions of Rick Dangerous -check the slideshow, please: http://atariteca.blogspot.com/2012/04/rick-dangerous-para-atari-8-bits-en.html Graphical differences are evident -and by far, seems like good news for A8 users. - Y -
  2. About issue Nº 1, I think is due to guns getting *overheated*. In order to surpass that problem, you can press the space bar and switch to a second fire mode: from "L" (long distance mode) to "C" or "S" (close/short distance). I wrote something in my blog (use the translator tool, please): http://atariteca.blo...extirpator.html - Y -
  3. "Game industry veteran Jordan Mechner has released the source code for the original Apple II version of Prince of Persia, more than two decades after the game's release": http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/168709/Prince_of_Persias_oncelost_source_code_released.php Would this be useful to have a port of this game for Atari 8-bits? Anyway, here´s the link to the source files: https://github.com/jmechner/Prince-of-Persia-Apple-II - Y -
  4. I found this thread: http://www.atariage....ges-a-big-list/ MPP should stand for Microbits Peripheral Products... Can anyone confirm if this is the cart? http://www.pitfalljones.com/0800-cartpic-big/superchargercartridge.jpg - Y -
  5. Hi Gunstar, The video corresponds to the Atari 8-bit version. Yep, I recorded it using Atari8000Win PLus. That´s why you see those *black energy balls* floating around. Speaking about Koronis Rift, here´s the link to my original article (spanish): http://atariteca.blogspot.com/2011/03/koronis-rift.html And using Google Translate to turn it into english: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=es&sl=es&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fatariteca.blogspot.com%2F2011%2F03%2Fkoronis-rift.html If that´s not enough... you can always review Atarimania´s scans: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-koronis-rift_2836.html - Y -
  6. BTW, for those interested on Koronis Rift, I wrote an extensive guide about it: http://atariteca.blogspot.com/2011/03/koronis-rift.html And here you have a video regarding the first levels...don´t miss the easter egg!
  7. I made it until the last dragon: Here you can take at look the level maps; besides, there are some hints regarding the enemies and jewels needed to defeat each dragon: http://atariteca.blogspot.com/2011/09/mapas-de-niveles-de-eidolon.html - Y -
  8. Altirra? Atari800? Atari800Win PLus? other? Which one is the best for you? Why? - Y -
  9. "Thalamusik", originally composed by the genial Rob Hubbard for the C-64´s shot´em-up "Sanxion" and ported to atari 8-bit for "The Extirpator": http://atariteca.blogspot.com/2009/04/intro-de-extirpator-audio.html And here is what I consider the best cover of this song: http://atariteca.blogspot.com/2010/06/thalamusik-shitty-solo-version.html
  10. Just found this article in a chilean radio´s website:The release of Montezuma´s Revenge for iPad and iPhone. Here´s a sum up (in spanish but with the option to be translated) http://atariteca.blogspot.com/2012/03/lanzaran-montezumas-revenge-para-iphone.html . The main new is that -according to Robert Jaeger- this version will (finally!) have "a decent ending" that the 8-bit lacks. - Y -
  11. Here you have a list of file types for Atari800Win PLus (in spanish, but with the option to translate it) http://atariteca.blogspot.com/2009/10/tipos-de-archivos-que-soporta-el.html - Y -

  13. Just in case, here is a small guide... in spanish http://atariteca.blogspot.com/2012/02/droid800-emulador-atari-para-android.html - Y -
  14. Well, confirmed: it´s the END key in both emulators.(Altirra and Atari800Win PLus). But in Atari800, the "inverse video" is the one located to the left of the number one (" the tilde key"). - Y -
  15. Hi everyone, This for the Alternate Reality fans (guess many of us!). Just found this surfing the web: "SECRET CODES IN THE CITY ---------------------------- Philip Price is a man who is known to not be fond of cheating in computer games, atleast, not without a negative effect for every positive one. So, there are some codes in The City which can be entered, but exactly what they do is unknown (even to Philip Price himself at this day). Well, by entering your Character's name as "fiat" with the CTRL key pressed down you get the question "What is Reality?" The following are the various answers and their cryptic effects: cela saute aux yeux - To be outside of time is to be unchangable. sempiternal - The gift of life is thru love. Master of Chronos - Hail Master of Chronos! But power is fleeting. unseen - That which is invisible is real" Does anybody know the effect (if there is one) of such codes in the game? I´ve tried them all but can´t notice any result. - Y -
  16. Hello bf2k+ I´ve just confirmed it´s also the same key for Atari800Win PLus 4.0 Anyone else knows the right key for Altirra and Atari800? - Y -
  17. Hello Kr0tki, I´ve already tried to locate this specific key in the self test mode in Altirra, Atari800Win Plus and Atari800. No results up to date.
  18. I just gave it a try... and didn´t work. Any idea?
  19. Hi there, I´m looking for the equivalent of the "inverse video" key in any of the Atari 8-bit computer emulators. Hope you can give me a hand with this. - Y -
