  1. I can do it too. I was simply debating your argument, if you don't want people to answer your questions and or can't handle the responses given. Well don't post the thread.
  2. LOL seriously. It doesn't matter who it applies to. It happens and those are measures in place to prevent it from happening. By all means go on all day long and give examples that have ZERO relevancy to the issue at hand. One car can only be driven at once. One sandwich can only be eaten at once. Ok lets compare that to this! ONE cd key can be used at once! You're confusing things here. You are not being asked to prove you paid for it every month, you are being asked to prove only 1 person is using it every month. There is a difference man. When you registered it that was when you proved you paid for it. Just like a car if it was stolen, people would track it down via the vin. Just like this game if it is stolen or being used illegally it will be tracked down via cd key. Honestly the fuss you are making over having to verify you are running a legal copy well that just makes you look guilty. Sorry. Might I add you have to agree to Blizzards terms of use before you are allowed to register and play this game. http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/legal/wow_tou.html Yes I know you don't feel you should have to log in every month ...... well thats the terms they set foreward, that you agree to before you register this game. It's fine if that is a deal breaker for you, then don't play.
  3. LOL. sorry. This just broke me up in laughter. What if the reserve is so high it still doesn't sell after 5 years. Well Nagn2 did agree to auction it I guess lol.
  4. If I buy SC2 and install it on my pc and register to a battlent account. I have now registered it. That cd is now linked to the battlenet account. Now I go over to my cousins and I install it on his computer using my same cd key and same battlenet account and so on and so on .... It will let me install this game over and over and over because it is a legit cd key and a legit battlenet account. Now if they don't require monthly logins to show where this cd key and battlenet account is logging in from well thats not doing a very good job of stopping people who didn't buy the game from playing illegally now is it? What you are asking for is for them to give people a legal way to pirate this game. If they never require login everybody can be playing single player forever on the same copy. It's not really that difficult of a concept to get. Again I feel the login is required and is needed to counter the different methods of pirating in this day and age.
  5. I'm sorry but thats just low. We call this being backdoored on other sites. It's very poor in character and not a good rep to have. Someone had to say it!
  6. Didn't figure out or chose not to? I think they are fully capable of seperating the two if they desired. This has only now become a problem because cheaters or being banned lol. I'm sorry but I have no sympathy for cheaters. It is a problem in any game. I know for a fact you give the hackers and inch and they take 20 miles. It's a fact. They will use. abuse, and exploit any loophole when given the opportunity. I am in favor of banning everyone who has or will use cheats. I don't know the specifics on needing to login once a month or not but in reality this is most likely used as an antipiracy techique to make sure the same cd key isn't being used on multiple systems. If you have a legit copy and want to play the game you have no problems. I highly doubt anyone who is going to be playing sc2 doesn't have an internet connection, therefore logging in to verify your account once a month isn't that big of a deal. If it is I suggest you carry your computer over to your friends or familys once a month. Pirating has made the industry do what they do now, it's not going away. I highly highly doubt that sc1 is flourishing more than the sc2 community. However if it is what does it matter? As far as Lan play lol what do you think the sc2 tournaments are? They are not half a world away from each other. They are 10' apart in enclosed booths. I suggest GOM TV to see what a sc2 tourney looks like. If you are trying to imply you want SINGLE player to not have to sign online for a LAN playfest welll, lol. I'm sorry but I'd love to see a single player lan LOL. Now I have already covered why the sign in is needed w/cheating and piracy so lan has nothing to do with this convo, nor does, sc1. If you have something concrete you would like to dispute then fine, but stop reaching.
  7. deoxit the entire board lol. Idk man, in all seriousness deoxit has done some strange things for me. You should check all the conections. It's posssible a wire is lose on one of those connectors.I had a system wouldnt work for nothing. I thew it in a pile and a few months later took it apart again and magically it worked. I think I had a pinched wire somwhere.
  8. The problem here is that blizzard gives special stats in multiplayer based off of single player gameplay. Single player gameplay is directly related to promotions and achievements in multiplayer. This is how the game is designed. It's how the majority of sc players like it. Most people who play sc play for multi-player. Therefore when someone who is using a cheat that directly gains them anything that can be used in multi-player, they are going to be banned. I understand this methodology perfectly and it makes perfect sense to me. Just because you only want to play single player is well unfortunate for you. There is a multi-million dollar industry based off of this game w/tournamnets and online play. They are not going to take any chance of getting a lawsuit because a few kids are bitter over not being able to cheat on a single player game.
  9. This looks pretty sweet. I wouldn't mind giving it a play.
  10. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 280813470896 here now what??? Now prove your point. $3500 round seal.
  11. OHHH I get it now. Your the guy in chat. It's cool. Sorry I fell for your trolling post. I suggest you walk yourself over to Nintendo Age and post this topic. You do not understand nes "sealed games" at all. yes Mario is a common, but as a sealed game it is not. There are VERY FEW sealed Mario 1's out there. These pop up on ebay every now and then, I'll make sure to link you the auction next time one sells. I love how you ask people on an atari forum a question about a highly collectible rare sealed nes game lol. You know what go over to a place like Nintendo age and ask what a red sea crossing is worth and I'm sure you'll get people saying $50? It's obvious you have NO real concern over this game and think I'm full of shit trying to BS you over a game i'm NOT even selling!
  12. A few months back I had I think 10 systems apart on my floor. I had 2 in particular that were all wacky. One did the same thing you are referring to. I disabled the lockout and it started working. However the vid seems a bit dark in that one I think but it does work. Thats one I'd prolly sell on the cheap though. Since then I have actually removed the lockout in every one because they plain and simply work better. You pretty much eliminate the flashing and games load much much better. I recommend removing the chip regardless.
  13. I would suggest clipping the lockout pin on the board. That pin causes so many problems it's not even funny. It's a bit tight behind 2 capacitors but w/ a very tiny screwdriver prying out from the left side and finishing on the right side it pops it out quite easy.
  14. Honestly man this is one sealed game I have followed for the past 8 years ever since I sold it for $100 back in 2004 and regretted it ever since. The last sales of this game averaged around $800. I think someone may have gotten $1500 for a vga 85 after it sat on ebay w/an asking price of 5k for about 6 months. Do you think it should be worth more or less than what I think?
  15. I just want to make a statement here. It seems many people on this site are big on homebrew and I will use the recent Halo 2600 as an example. I see it's ok to repro old games because companies are not making them anymore and not making $$ on them and so on. However let someone repro a homebrew and man look at how mad people get. Ok I understand it, I'm on the same page it's crap pirating someones homebrew. However!!! These games are released with limited quantities and in most cases they have ZERO intentions of releasing further copies. In this sense they are not making any $$ of them anymore either. The demand is higher than the quantity. They release these in limited quantities for whatever reason, I would like to think as a limited collector piece. Well I look at official games in the same way. I like my rare games to stay rare and limited. Just like people don't want repros of their limited homebrews all over the place, I don't want repros of my rares all over the place. Lets face it rare games are the only ones people would pay for. Nobody is buying a burnt common.
  16. Well then I guess it wouldn't be worth anything then. I myself question them but I'm not going to say they are fake, however welding a game shut wrapped in plastic so you can't even see the seam makes me wonder. I personally am not intersted in VGA games but many are.
  17. Black box Mario 1 for nes? You have diff seals. Round an oval. Round is worth more. It all depends on condition. An oval seal mint copy no tears would be worth around $1000 on the bay. A round seal should fetch more. It seems many colelctors like VGA graded since there are so many fakes right now. Me I'm not into having a game welded shut wrapped in plastic so I can't even see the thing. I like to make my own decisions on what is real and fake. If you have a super minty one I would be interested in trading for it. I do have a copy but mine does have a slight tear in the y-fold which annoys me. It's not noticebale unless you move the shrink but I know it's there lol. As far as the seal, it only has the h-seam.
  18. I collect 1st and sell second. It's not my full time job but it does get me my games for nothing. I do scour craigslist and I do do keyword searches specifically in "garage sales" every week. I do go to these sales 1st and I get there early. I have to because if I get there 15 min late the stuff will be sold. I got sick of it so now I get there 15min. early if possible. I don't resell a $2 game for $10 though. However I do sometimes ask more than an item is worth, simply because I have a local gamestore and don't ask me how they do it, but they sell stuff for crazy $$$. Many items the trade value is worth more than my resell value. So they get it and I get credit for brand new games. Such as a genesis model 2 $15 credit. I can't get people to give me $5 for these things. Then with commons, in all honesty they give me a few bucks for practically any game and when I can unload $300 worth of commons and systems and be done with it, that is sooooo much easier then selling all that on my own. As far as this fake craigslist add I wouldn't do that. To me 1st come 1st serve. You want it go get it. I will however if possible send an email and try to buy the games before the sale starts. I look at the craigslist garage sale add as an add selling items and if they are willing to sell me what they have before the actual sale. I'm buying it! People will let me buy stuff before the sale because they want it sold and thats a guaranteed sale.
  19. I didn't realize a rom was only a term used for carts. I though the term rom was given to any game. I just assumed a cd based game was a rom but the file format was iso? What do I know.
  20. Hmmm. Looks like my method was common mistake lol. According to this video you shouldn't tin a wire by tip alone. It flows better to use the solder and tip. I have also watched a few videos and you should tin both contacts before joining them. Don't mind me I'm just documenting all my findings lol. I would edit post, but that option disappears after a certain amount of time.
  21. a rom is a rom? it says it supports pc engine. why wouldn't it work?
  22. I edited my post I'm not getting involed in this. However I suggest you look up the definition of bootleg.
  23. Can you get Ginga Fukei Densetsu on the turbo everdrive? If so I want one.
