  1. Guess they don't want to honor the existing 'free' accounts anymore.

When I paid for my lifetime account, it did NOT come with stipulations. I was one of the first ones and if people actually do a search I started a thread about it here or GameTZ a VERY long time ago, might have done it on both sites I don't remember, promoting the lifetime membership.

At any rate a site that specifically targets a certain audience that lets face it is quite small, will not do very well when it pisses off it's target audience and the users that helped make it what it is.

If you don't want to honor my free account that is fine. I will not support the site or even mention it to fellow gamers. It can sink along w/my $20.

The biggest mistake here was keeping a name and user base w/out keeping prior agreements.

  2. It's simple. Millennials have money now and they want to buy the stuff they had as kids. In an instant-gratification world, you can have just about anything you want.... if you're willing to pay for it.

I think using the term "Millennial's" for the people who grew up with nes, snes, and genesis is a bit much. I would say Millennial's grew up more with N64, Gamecube and such. Your principle still stands I just don't consider myself a Millennial.

  3. My aunt bought me this back in 2007 for Christmas. I was digging through boxes last week trying to organize and clean up and found this. It would take too long to upload pictures, so I took a few videos so you can see what prices were back a decade ago. Assuming this price guide was good back then.

It has a few other sections in the back that I didn't show, but they had nothing to do w/prices.

  4. Man is this thing AWESOME! I was browsing Facebook Marketplace and seen this thing last night. It had been listed for a week! I thought their must be an error at $10. I contacted them to see if it was still available, they said yes! So today I went to get it. 45 minutes there and 45 minutes back, $10 plus about $7 in interstate tolls and fuel. So about $17 and an hour and a half of my time driving. I also snagged a ps2 crash nitro cart from them for $2 while I was there. It's hard to tell if I needed it or not since I have about 400 ps2 games but I did :) This is what I call a win win. Still on the fence over selling this monster. It is wicked cool, but I have zero room for it and I honestly have never even played the game. I still have a real hard time selling promo stuff like this. There is a good chance I will keep it or maybe list at some crazy high bin in the future.

  5. Does anyone know how to get this connector,

I have been searching ebay and can't find it. It is one the coolest cables I have ever found lol. For my set-up just running out of my CRT TV's, the sound is amazing. Now I no longer will rely on using my master system cable that is lacking the red jack.

I had no idea the headphone jack would produce better sound than the component jack.

  6. So basically someone wired in the headphone jack

No, this appears to be factory.

I don't like the humm and other noise from the headphone circuit on the model 1s.

My sound is crisp as can be. The only time I ever heard a humming sound was from using aftermarket power supplies.

  7. Just got a lot in and the Genesis came with an A/V cable that has a headphone jack coming off it as well. I just did some testing using that cable and another cable I have that is made for a master system and only has a yellow and white.

It is weird as the cable w/the headphone jack will not output any audio unless the headphone jack is used, but when used it provides stereo audio. I even used the other cables video and just plugged the headphone jack in by itself w/out the main connector and the audio is supplied to the TV 100% by the headphone jack.

Swapping the audio and simply just adding the R audio from the headphone jack cable you can clearly hear the difference. It makes me wonder if I had a splitter and just split the audio coming out from the yw cable if that would supply the same level of sound.

Another plus to this cable is the volume adjuster for the headphone jack controls the loudness as well as the TV. Which is pretty cool as my TV even on the lowest setting is kind of loud. Using the slider I can turn it really low if needed.

  8. Man finds like these are getting harder and harder. I seen this posting like 40 minutes or so after it was posted and it generally takes 15-20 minutes to show on Craigslist. At any rate it was listed for $160 and I called the guy and said I wanted to buy his lot. He said he would text me his address. After a few minutes I texted him asking for it, a few more minutes later I called him back. He said his wife didn't want a stranger coming to their house, so he asked me to meet him at Tim Horton's. He then said for my inconvenience he would take $140 LOL.

I got there and we started going over it all. He said I was lucky because his phone was blowing up. After he put it all in my car and I gave him the $140 he wanted, he asked me what it all was worth. I told him at least $400. I then told him I had no problem paying him the $160 or even more than that. He refused to take anything over the $140. He did forget sega genesis street fighter 2 special champions but I'm not going to complain over it lol. I was hoping to get it as I had an empty box sitting here for it but owell.

People just like to give me stuff cheap even why I try to pay them more they refuse lol. I even told him I would resell most of it, he sad he didn't care and didn't have the time to mess with it. I will be keeping that Thunder Force 2 for sure and likely that boxed ps2 silver slim as I only have a boxed black slim. The rest of the stuff I will have to look over but I likely have most of it already.

PS2 COD 3, Metal gear solid 2, GT3, and NBA Live 2002 are just empty cases, which he told me when I came to get them.

  9. I highly doubt the KV27FS120's don't support Phasers. Doing a quick google search shows they do support light guns. I would be more inclined to believe your Light Phaser has a problem and not the TV. The local game store 8 minutes from me has a KV27FS120. I'll have him test out a Light Phaser next time I go. I'm pretty sure he has a master system but if not I will take one and a phaser.

  10. I have these. The games in the box are higher priced games. For nes the price goes from left to right going down. I believe I had $20 on Kirby w/manual and a new battery holder and battery installed. Duck tales is 15, tmnt 2 is $12 because I have a use for them, tmnt is $8 and so forth. The snes differ greatly. The nes along the wall I wasn't really selling but I may, they would mostly be $5 each. Shipping pp fees, extra for all these prices.

  11. Well I was going to make a joke about your ancient Rock Band controller, but upon closer inspection, it might just be a real guitar

I'm pretty sure they didn't make fake plastic guitars for lefties, anyway.

LOL instead you tell him his Guitar looks like a cheaply made plastic piece of junk :)

  12. Mainly nes and genesis but I remember in that time zone I grabbed an Atari 2600 with like 100 games at a yard sale not far down the road from me for like $20. 1995 was also the year I got my first PC, it was an IBM Aptiva from Radio Shack, so I played a lot of those games, cyberia, hover, and all the other pre-packed games. I as well remember buying games like Kings Quest V, jazz the jack rabbit, and Wolfenstein.

  13. So rummaging through my bins I came across one of these. Seeing as how they sell for like $60 and I really hate the xbox I decided to test to so I can sell. I was curious though on the difference in quality. So I ran some test. It was quite apparent that this High def, has more vibrant colors and you can see in the background the squares and hexagons show up better in the High def. Soon as the xbox starts you can just see the logo has brighter and sharper images.

After seeing the quality difference, I may have to keep this.

Both tested on my 27" KD-27FS170 Trinitron.

Here is a normal standard a/v cable.

  14. but on a message board, it just seems like it's a lazy way for someone to quietly voice their approval without having to actually type anything.

I always viewed it as showing you agree with a post w/out cluttering up a thread. I would rather one person write something and multiple people like it instead of all those people writing the same thing multiple times over.

  15. It's been a long time since I wasted my time at Goodwill. I decided to pop in today. First thing I nabbed was the GBA SP 101 w/charger for $16.99+tax sold "as is". It turned on, good enough for me. I tested already and it does work, just needs charged. 2nd up the wii lot $29.99 +tax, sold "as is" could not test but I got lucky and it all works. I have an extra wii remote and nunchuck kicking around so it works out. 3rd the ps2 $19.99 +tax, again I could not test but I got lucky and it works.

Total w/tax was $72.xx but I rounded up to $73. The best buy by far was the backlit GBA SP. Trying to decide if I want to peel off those stickers or leave them on. I'll have to keep that wii dance game for my kids, but the rest will be bundled. The ps2 has the shortest power cord I have ever seen lol. It is like 18", but it works.
