I will try to avoid nursing homes because of potential abuse; not of me but from me because I'm likely to be a cranky old bitch that has nothing better to do than harass nurses. Anyway, some things I am doing or planning to do:
1. If I get a child raise it to accept retro gaming as their religion. That seems to get most people interested in things for the long term.
2. I'm currently moving my wife's and my collections slowly into our new house. We got a three bedroom home just so we both could have our own collection rooms.
Well I don't see this ending well.

Thinking of buying one of those AES consoles, the nes knock offs.
You have me confused. Are you wanting an AES which to most of use means Neo Geo or do you want an NES classic, nes classic knock-off, or something else?

The only way to beat the homebrew scalpers is to join them and undercut them with retail prices. I hope Al steals all of their business.

Well not really joining since he isn't scalping but I agree you need to control the market. Homebrews can't be limited or they will be scalped.
Even if Al doesn't list everything, he can always add a card or something in each package to draw traffic the AA store for a bigger selection.
Unfortunately Ebay is a necessary evil.

At 6:30 you highlighted my main question.... then you just left it laying dead in the water.
Thumbstick. Regardless of whether you buy this or replace a thumbstick in an original. They will go bad. The thumbstick in this will go bad. Open it up what's it take? Can it be replaced? How many wires are on it? Most after market sticks use a cheaper thumbstick w/less wires and those can't be used on originals. Could those be used on this or would you have to buy an expensive thumbstick, that's if you can even replace it at all?
How long will this last is the other concern. Which can not be answered here. However I have not seen an aftermarket N64 stick hold up well at all, for that reason alone I would not try my luck on this.

Hold on here, you have to explain this to me. Why on Earth would someone want to trade anything when it is going to cost them at least $3 plus time plus trade to ship out any trade when it can be purchased for $5 disc only.
Even complete can be had for $11. and these are bins.

Yes. One leg to the middle I get 5.35V and the other is just over 12v.
Change it. I just tested mine and the left or 1 was 3.77 and the other 2 and 3 were 5.37.
I literally just had a similar problem on a front loader where the voltage regulator was outputting high on all 3 legs and the system wouldn't even power on. I changed it and bam worked perfectly. I think one of your legs is outputting too much.

Did you test the voltage regulator?

I would says it's at least worth 10k plus
It's worth more than $10,000. You can't even get an nes game these days for less than $5. Little Samson alone sells for $1000.
Just the one pic w/Little Samson in it those 30 games are worth $7,000. Then you still have another 770 games or so.
I would say this lot is worth at least $20,000

Does it still use the original plastic core?
Yes everything is used. The only thing that gets removed are the domes and plastic holding them down. The inner plastic core has to be grinded down on the points that would normally press against the domes as the tactile switches sit higher than the domes do.

Sold a few. I can make 4 more.

Flipping cereal.......now I've heard it all
People have been flipping cereal for awhile. Flutie Flakes comes to mind.
People already have been flipping it. He's late to the game. When it first came out people would wait and scoop them up and charge a good little nerd tax on it for those who couldn't wait.
This is the first I have seen them and why I only bought 3 as I doubt they will retain value as they were. I will keep a couple around for a few months anyhow. They are only $2.58 each so why not? Worse case scenario we eat them

I just went to Wal-mart and was surprised as all hell to see these on the shelf. I wanted to buy them all. They had a whole row. I looked up and the entire top shelf was stacked w/them. They must have had like 30 of them. I bought 3. My boys will be eating at least 1 box. We will see what ebay prices do.

Just my personal opinion unless the game/manual has any real value it is not worth selling together. Once you start adding a manual that means bigger packaging, more time, higher cost of shipping and so on. You are always better off selling cart only and then selling manuals in lots.

Nice, I wasn't actively looking for it but I did waste some time when I seen this post trying to find it. It appears to be a very hard to find variant.

Would post to the UK?

I think I can make an exception for established AA members. Shipping would be more though. I will have to weight again but I think they are over 8 ounces. I think shipping is going to be like $22 extra. but you could likely buy more than one for that same shipping cost, I believe it cost the same for 9 ounces to 2lbs.

$25 each shipped.
Just tossing these out here if anyone is interested.
I remove the plastic and metal domes, clean the board, mount the tactile switches precisely for proper click, and modify the plastic joystick and fire button for proper click.
Not sure how many I can do, 5-10 or so. I have to go through what I have. I just got more tactile switches in today.

So I was browsing Facebook garage sale groups that I am not even a member of. I ran across a guy selling Klonoa for $40. I messaged him and he said $60 pending P/U LOL whatever. I asked if he was holding or 1st come. He said first come and told me it was a really rare game. He has a store he sells video games out of, so I went up. While there he talked about how he could get $40 alone for the case and manual on ebay.
The manual has a little water damage and stuck pages that I pulled apart causing slight damage. The back insert has slight water damage on bottom corner. The game while it worked was horrible. I paid him the $60 for it anyhow. While I was there I was looking at the other games he had. I asked how much "Sunset Riders" was. He said what? I said the yellow label
He told me $10...soldI gave Klonoa a new jewel case and took it down to the local Game store and paid him $5 to resurface it. While not perfect way better than it was. Klonoa is already on ebay, I'll keep Sunset Riders.

If it is something I can fix and is worth my time I will fix it. If it is something I can't fix and/or is not worth my time I sell it on ebay and let someone else deal with it
If it is not worth selling I offer it for free or toss it in the garbage can after awhile.-

I have decided these items would be better suited in a museum setting, they are not what I really collect. I have reached out to the Strong National Museum of Play. It is only 30 minutes away from me. More so it would be the ICHEG "International Center for the History of Electronic Games".
They have already said they would like my donation. I just have to take them up to them now. If you have never been there, it is pretty sweet. We had a membership there in 2016. They have tons of arcades and lots of stuff from all systems. That's just the game exhibit. They have an entire bottom floor dedicated to kids activities. Train rides, sesame street exhibit, a big plane kids can climb in, and so on.

Made a trade with TPR. Good communication, fast payment.

The floor is not a storage place.
Oh come on who needs to walk!
I am not ready to sell my collection but I am, we will say cleaning up. I am amazed how much stuff I keep finding in bins I don't need. I have cleared lots of bins out of the garage. I have cleaned up quite a bit from the side of the basement that I made into a playroom. I am finally getting my game room somewhat clean again.
I still have quite a bit to unload and bins to go through and I fully expect in the near future to have a clean game room again lol. I became too much of a hoarder. At one point I had I believe about 60 n64 controllers. I finally forced myself to sell all but 2 for each color.
One of the things I find hard about collecting is the inability to throw stuff out, even when it is broken. That's changing, I have been forcing myself to toss stuff that well is so damaged and nasty it needs tossed.
I have had my floor cleaned up 4-5 times and all I do is unload more bins and fill it up again w/stuff to sell. I totally understand the need to have space. I can't wait till I get all my extra stuff gone. In one way I want to sell all games and just get everdrives and make room for foosball tables and pool tables and such. However I'm too attached and like being surrounded by walls of games.
I have lined my basement w/shelving that only sticks out like 6" so it doesn't appear to take up much space. I have games/systems going to the ceiling in effort to keep space open.

How do you plan for the long long long term?

If and when they have a kid, which one of them is giving up the their personal collection room. You can't have a bedroom for them, a bedroom for each of them to have a collection in and then a 4th bedroom for a kid when it is only a 3 bedroom house.
