    I gotta say,  

     

    I played it on the emulator last night for the first time ever.  That was one of my favorite arcades back in the day, but man did the 2600 version ever come through!  Unreal, given the systmes limitations, how close they got it to the arcade.

     

    What other games does the 2600 do that much justice to/for?  Just wondering what you all think.  Of course, when I went to make a copy of it, I discovered it was a 16K, probably some hard to duplicate bank switching, so much for an easy ZIF eprom cart!

    King Atari you should give it more time, I love SeaQuest but this game is a very different play. What if the two were combined and the Giant Squid would eat the divers ! Now that would be exciting ! :D

    It is easy to see how this happens. One package the tape gets exposed and a envelope sticks to it and goes for the ride, mail falls behind a machine and then gets discovered years later and delivered, the zip is unreadable and it is not sent to Melbourne Florida but to the other Melbourne. :roll:

    Finally this guy refunded me a portion of my money, well enough that I am no longer angry. Well, the lesson I learned is that if you eBay enough, you evetually will have a less than pleasing experience. What is truly amazing is the number of great experiences I have had as both a buyer and seller. eBay is a great tool for us collectors. Cheers ! :D

    Aah yes Chopper Command. The Defender rip-off that kicked even 2600 Defender's ass! :)

     

    And check it out in the picture.. the lasers have that smooth white and blue streak in them! Those are AMAZING graphics for the 2600 don't you think? :D :lol:

    Yes, I enjoy it more than Defender and it is a knockoff ! Great game !

    I can not beleive this guy, he tells me he has paid me via Paypal and attaches a reciept paying my refund to somebody else ! I checked my account to see if he did refund me and he did not ! I am just left speechless ! He did not agree to give me a full refund which he should and then he sends the money to somebody elses Paypal account. It is not a great deal of money, but his actions are simple causing me to get a little mad. I better go play some Defender and calm down ! :x

    Here's a tip for you guys having trouble:

     

    The first group of enemies on a level are the most difficult to clear because you need to clear out a saftey zone for your chopper to fly in.  Once this is done, the rest of the level should be no problem.  Always approach the enemy from behind(Fly left so you are coming up behind the convoy of trucks).  This way, everything is moving away from you.  Approach each section of the level so that the enemies barely enter the screen and start blasting.  Since they are moving away from you, you will need to tap to the left to catch them occasionally.  They will not be able to reach you and their bombs should be little trouble either if you line up perfectly and blast each enemy just as it enters the screen before it shoots!  I mainly use the radar screen and listen to the sounds to know what is happening(when I kill an enemy).  The play on the normal screen is so fast that I only glance at it occasonally.  Use your instruments to fly.  Good luck and let me know how you do.  I'm always glad to help anyone if they are having trouble with an Activision  game on the 2600!!!

    Just got an email from him, says he will give me a partial refund and let me keep the game. Sounds like he honestly did not know this was a PAL version. I feel he is making amends and would buy from him again.

     

    Beware of Defender II carts in unopened boxes. If the seller has not tried them, they could be a PAL cart !

     

    Maybe I spoke to soon, this guys still has not refunded me. Maybe I am just impatient, but it only takes a few seconds to do a PayPal refund. I have had many eBay transactions, this is the first that was in any way a problem.

    I won an auction for Defender II and it came quickly. The games scrolls when I plugged it in, low and behold the is a "P" on the back. It is a PAL cartridge ! The action did not mention that and the guy will not fully refund me. It was item Item # 1940301011 and I am stunned that he will not take it back and refund the entire amount. Beware of this guy gamecollector5 !
