  1. I appreciate the info but I just don't have the time to invest in fixing this... I posted the Happy upgrade in the Market place ($30) and the 1050 on FeeBay... Thank you to everyone that posted on this, Roger
  2. So I got the Happy swapped and re-installed in the 1050... it now responds and spins but I'm getting a ton of boot errors... the head is clean, any other ideas?!? Thanks, Roger
  3. OK, so I took the Happy upgrade out and put the original chips back in and it works fine... is this just a bad Happy upgrade?!? Out of curiosity, I put the Happy board back in and it was non-responsive again... I'm guessing that I can get the board swapped from Atarimax? Thanks, Roger
  4. Thanks Bob... does anyone have any suggestions on what specifically to look at/for (knowing that I don't have another 1050 to Frankenstein)? I appreciate everyone's help on this... Roger
  5. OK, does anything look "bad" in these pics? Thank you in advance!
  6. If I have time over the next couple of evenings, I'll open it up and look for something obvious and post my findings on here... I was supremely pissed last night when it went down but a good night's rest cures a lot of ills Thanks, Roger
  7. If anyone wants to take this on, please let me know... I'm trying to thin out my collection and untimely repair projects don't interest me right now... sorry. Roger
  8. I don't have another 1050 drive... if I can't fix it, it goes bye-bye. Thanks, Roger UPDATE: I just found an Indus GT, plugged it in and it works fine... so the issue is definitely with the 1050.
  9. So I completed an Atarimax 1050 Happy upgrade last week and the drive has worked great with no issues... this afternoon, I'm testing some old disks and the drive suddenly became unresponsive... the drive doesn't turn when initially turning on the drive (the red light comes on) nor does my 800XL recognize it... if I hold down Option when powering on, it goes to the self test. Any ideas as to what happened?!? I tried unplugging everything and then plugging it all back in but no change... Thank you, Roger
  10. Looking forward to seeing what's left over Roger
  11. Last call on these... loading up the family truckster for a GoodWill run now Thanks, Roger
  12. The wire colors in that picture are the same as mine... can I just match up the wire colors in that order and plug them back in?!? Thanks, Roger UPDATE: I went ahead and copied that wire pattern and it worked perfectly! I now have a Happy 1050 !!! Thank you Bill !!!
  13. Yes, I saw that on the drive... is that a bad thing? The drive has run like a champ for some time... Thanks, Roger
  14. So I'm doing the Atarimax Happy upgrade on my 1050 and everything's going great until I go to reconnect the wiring... of course I pulled them off without paying attention and the pictures on the PDF file don't look anything like my connectors (see pictures). I sent Atarimax an email but I was wondering if anyone here has the same connectors and can help me reconnect these correctly without damaging anything? Thank you in advance, Roger
  15. How about $11 shipped? If it's more, it's on me... Roger
  16. I ran across this in the basement this morning while cleaning up some things... any interest, anyone?!? Thanks, Roger
  17. Cleaning house... these need to go by Saturday or they go to Goodwill (sorry). Please see the pics. There are three sets of paddles... two are jittery and one pair has a non-responsive button. The two complete joysticks have directional issues... there are also some shells, cords and PCB's. Shipping from 80138 Denver, CO. Thank you, Roger PS - if anyone's interested, I have quite a few 5.25" floppy disk holders too... the small cases that hold ten disks as well as the larger ones that hold 100 disks... these will either go to Goodwill or get recycled by the end of the weekend.
  18. The search continues... Thanks, Roger
