  1. The 5200 PSU will not fry the 1050.. It just wont run the 12v circuit inside it.. You need a 9vac PSU..

Rather than give it to goodwill, why not mail it to some one who needs an atari disk drive..

Hmmm, isn't there a Marketplace section on this forum :ponder:

If someone will send me $20 via Paypal, it's all yours! It'll cost over $10 for shipping alone so I'm only making about $9...

OK, here's the for sale link: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/163824-atari-1050-disk-drive-only-20-shipped/

  2. Just added a 1050 drive with some minor issues...

    Thanks

What is the specs on the power supply? It looks like a 5200 PS to me.

    PS specs: Part No. CO18187

    Input: 120VAC 60Hz 38W

    Output: 9.3VDC AT 1.95A

Jmetal88, let me box it up and get a shipping price for you.

    Thanks,

    Roger

  3. OK, I know that this may have been covered before but I'm looking for a straight-forward answer for this. My 1050 does this:

    - I turn it on, it spins briefly then stops (no weird sounds).

    - the screen reads boot error, then pauses, then says it again (continuously).

    - the switches on the rear of the drive are set correctly.

    - I opened it up but don't know where to start...

    Thank you

  4. Upon closer inspection, one of the RAM chips wasn't all the way seated... needless to say, I was pretty excited at the notion that this was the problem. I pulled it out (that sounded weird) and reseated it... I checked all of the other chips and they looked good. After re-assembling everything and turning it back on... the screen is now black (instead of red) :ponder:

  5. 'ello,

i might be interested in the Indus GT, are you looking for another drive (1050?) i have one we could work out a trade for if your interested...

    sloopy.

I have a 1050... mainly looking to sell this one but I would listen to trade offers for a couple of joysticks or some carts.

    Thanks

  6. Here's what I have left over from a lot I recently purchased. I will add/send pics if needed. Looking for cash offers or trade for Atari 8-bit carts/software:

    - Here's a Gemstik joystick too. Works perfectly and the only cosmetic flaw is that the silver paint on the name has rubbed off (on the "G")... see pic below.

    Sorry, everything else sold :D

    Thanks,

    Roger
