How do you keep track of your collection?
Shephda replied to Atari Master's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I created an Excel spreadsheet. I track games for each system, inventory of systems and their accessories, items wanted, and keep a running total of all games in my collection. If anyone wants it I'd be happy to share. -

Stopped by a local thrift today, been dried up for the past week or so. Today I found Paper Mario for the N64, in box sans manual for $2.99! -

All this Laser Disk talk has made me break out Moving Pictures by RUSH on vinyl. Now that's the way music was meant to be heard. :-) -

Hit a local flea today, hit on an Xbox console (no cords) with an Intec monitor attached for $15! The monitor works great and the Xbox even had a game in it. (nothing special) Sold the console to a local game store owner for 5$. It pays to throw them a deal or two from time to time! -
Does anyone here have a copy of the disk for the Microbotics StarDrive? I have the MemTest disk but not the actual install disk. Over on the Amiga.org site there is a message stating it's in "the Zone!", I'm assuming that's a depository somewhere on their site but since they are not accepting new members, I can not access it. Thanks!

Found a Flea Market while camping this weekend, not to much but did find a 7800 console with no hook ups for %5.00! Looks good, mine has a bad power switch so for $5 it's worth the parts at least. -

Hehe Yeah baby! Catch of the week for me. Then at work someone who knows I'm into video games brought me a bag-o-stuff. Inside a complete NES, and badly abused Super Famicom with about 8 or so Japanese games. Gotta sort it out to see what all there is, I know it has Star Fox, and what looks like an RPG. Hee Hee -

Got the ROM yesterday. I just can't figure out why people don"t package IC's properly for shipping. The guy I bought it from did the right thing in that he placed it on a piece of antistatic foam, but he just put it in an envelope. So I look over the envelope and notice a hole in the middle of it, to my dismay I find inside a damaged IC, 5 pins on each side are folded over. I got them straitened out and to my surprise it works good. But I was still mad as hell! I emailed the guy and gave his some grief about the situation, I just hope he does not do this to someone else. I'd rather pay a few extra dollars for better shipping than having to spend a half hour babying pins on an IC. Bottom line, the 2000 is upgraded to Kickstart ROM 3.1 and is now running WB 3.1 and Magic Workbench 2.0! So if you order IC's from someone, stress good shipping habits to them.

The A590 is a good option, there are several but the A590 is good. If it does not come with a HD, then look for something around 500MB ~ 1GB range. That is a good starting point. A new battery in there will have very little chance of leaking, the problem happens when the battery is 20+ years old. I'd go ahead and do it. I would get the ROM upgraded to 3.1 then go with WB 3.1 (I can help you there). I'm looking for a 3.1 ROM myself, there are plenty on e-ripoff but I'd like to find one here. Anyone? As for a CD, honestly I'd get an external SCSI Iomega 100MB ZIP drive rather than a CD. If you put one in your PC (IDE not SCSI) as well then you can transfer ADF and other files to the 500 in style. It would be a lot better investment. Also get yourself a good power strip. I leave everything switched on and use the strip to turn on\off the system. It's hard to find new power switches for old equipment. -
Great guy to deal with. First class act.

They were always super-popular at "copy parties" here in the U.S. So were the MSD Dual drives! I miss copy parties.

Nice gear. Sound like a home brewer! I have built a lot of gear, mostly QRP stuff. My favorite is a little CW rig using a 6T9 compactron tube, won a local home brew night contest with it and got a $50 gift certificate. A few years ago at the Dayton Hamfest I got to operate the original Doug DeMaw Tuna Tin transmitter, it's the Holy Grail of the QRP world. God I'm a nerd. Samantha Fox was awesome and I love the old Demo's from the day. The Amiga and C=64 both had great games and is a must for any gamers.

Thanks! I'm digging them more and more. Nice addition to the gaming collection. I have a ton of C=64 gear that I'm going through, brown and white 64's, 128's, and even a 128D to add to the setup. Most likely will setup an old brown model since I have a nice 1702 monitor for it, and sell off the rest. I need to clean up the basement before the wife invites the crew of hoarders to my house.
