    My milestone!

Now that you are over 100, what letters are you missing? I had to break down and buy the last couple (Up'n Down and Xenophobe) and I was over 250 unique titles for the 2600. And I just recently got 3 of the Realsports series! I still have quite a bit of commons missing. I could probalby get to 300 without a ton of cash with the right donor collector! I REALLY try to get instructions I have 261 games and 186 instructions, maybe 150 or so match up. As of today I need N, O, Q, U, and X. Should not be hard to get. I'm hitting some of the local stores tomorrow to see what I can find. If there are certain commons you are looking for let me know, I can usually find 2600 commons cheap! We have a couple of local stores that really support the old systems and serious\semi-serious collectors. I seem to be a bit ADD when it comes to collecting, I switch from system to system, last time it was the NES, then I hit a bag full of 2600 carts so now I'm fixated on them. LOL
  3. I've had a run on the various arcade sticks for different systems this year. So far I've found them for the PS2 back to the Genesis. Funny hoe things seem to run in cycles.
  4. Yeah, like my California Games pic a couple messages above! LOL Don't figure there's a way to clean that puppy, eh? Not that I've found, like AtariLeaf said it's just the fate of these carts. But as long as it plays, it's worth it!
  5. Today's 2600 finds: Amidar $.99 Winter Games $.49 Robot Tank $.99 Space Shuttle $1.49 Word Zapper $.99 Bermuda Triangle $1.99 Airlock $1.49 All in good condition, Winter Games label a bit dirty.
  6. Red label Gravitar I'm guessing? Yeah, nothing super special but some nice obscure titles. I passed on a stack of the norms like Centipede, Raiders OTLA, Ms. Pac Man, etc.
  7. Went to my favorite thrift at lunch today. Scored the following 2600 titles for .99 each: Desert Falcon Gravitar Gopher Lost Luggage Mega Force Megamania Squeeze Box Swordquest: Fireworld

I think it's harder for them to believe that would have so damn much old crap! LMAO

When my son started the process of replacing his games (and he had a LOT) the adjuster wanted proof of what he claimed to have, as you can guess they get a lot of fraud claims. He had his spreadsheet and recent pics showing his collection, since the list he gave and the evidence match he got the money. Sad that being honest on a claim puts you at the same level of suspicion as a thief.

Thanks! My son went through a theft last year. They got his big screen TV and his 360, and Wii. Idiots left his vintage stuff. Thank God. Good collection, and 300 2600's is awesome. Someday. I made an Excel spreadsheet that lists and totals all my games by system, then the systems, my accessories, my for sale "extras", and then my wanted games. It's been a work in progress but it's nice. Also it got the blessing from my insurance agent, along with current photos I have a ready inventory in case the unimaginable happens. I'd share it with anyone who wants it.
  11. Went to a thrift at lunch and found Call of Duty: Front Line, and a battery charger and four batteries for the Wii. Game: $2.99 Charger: $1.99 Nice day!
  12. Wow, we have stores around here that are like that. They don't have a clue as to the real world value, they assume since it's "vintage" it's worth big $$. At the better stores, most commons R4 and down are $.99 to $1.99. The really good stores will cut you a break if you buy them in bulk. One local store usually gives me a 50% cut, but I'll buy 10-20 at a time.

Yeah, that seems to be the consensus. How about some 27 year old dude arguing libertarian vs. liberal politics and farting? That's MY usual partner. Or my wife, a sexy nurse! I've spent probably 400 dollars total on my MTG collection, which is 8 Wii games new, or 200 2600 commons. Not bad considering the fun I get out of it, so it doesn't have to be a HUGH money pit, but it easily can be. I never buy packs anymore. When a new set comes out, I typically buy 5-10 singles from it, as they're usually the only things I want out of it anyway. What I really want is a console game (for a console that I have), to get the fun without the expense. I have MTG on the Xbox 360 and it's pretty fun. Not much of a card pool but enough to have fun. Also playing others on line is cool. I hear you on the other stuff, I'm not anti-people but it seems most MTG players are just YU-Gi-Oh players with drivers licenses.

Thanks! One of these days I'll post some picks of my collection. It's not grand by a lot of peoples standards, but it's my baby!

I'm a cheap SOB, that and I seem to have this karma thing where I find games cheap. A good example is last year I found at a thrift, 4 bags of SNES games with 5 games in each. They were marked $4.99, in one of the bags was Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario World All Stars, and Mario RPG. All those bags had over $150 worth of games. They only "normal" console I don't have is a Master System, and a PS3. I don't count systems like the Fairchild and such because they are fairly rare in the wild. MTG is a HUGH money pit. I love the game but with 4 sets coming out each year and some of the Mythic Rares going for near $100, I can't justify that. Today a tourney level deck runs about $600.00 to $800.00. Insane. I tried paper magic once at a local card shop and did not like the experience. I did not care for some 14 year old kid spitting Taco Bell and Monster all over my cards.

    My milestone!

Well, my milestones are just markers along my quest to have every damn game ever made. My addiction is such that I even collect those Madden "XX" games. Yeah, I have a problem. I've been seriously collecting for little over 18 months and my total stands at 1071 games. Systems are from the Atari 2600 to the 360. No PS3 yet, but I'm going to sell off my MTGO account and get one! I like setting goals and then concentrating on them, makes collecting for me a bit more fun than mindlessly hunting for games. My last "goal" was to hit 100 NES, I'm now up to 126. Yeah it's an obsession but it's a damn fun one! Happy hunting...

Hello everyone. I went to one of the local used game stores today to achieve my personal goal of 100 2600 games. Took my list of 85 games and spent 20 minutes digging through the .99 bin. Not only did I get to 100, I got all the Realsports series, and got a new "letter" in my second quest to get at least one game for each letter of the alphabet! Dan
  18. Great find! I felt lucky to get mine last year for $25 without games. I use it in the camper along with a YOBO NES\SNES.
  19. Hope everyone had a great weekend! I did some shopping this weekend at a local used game\video store. The manager is an awesome guy and gave me a 50% break on a bunch of 2600\7800 games, mostly fillers. Saturday I found a couple of SNES goodies at the Flea, Super Mario World, Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Man 2, and Stunt Racer FX all for $1 each. Also picked up Eye Toy for the PS2, $10 complete in the box. Not great finds, but still fun!
  20. My god that's a good deal. I hit the jackpot again today! Found 2 PS games, Parasite Eve and Marvel Super Heroes both for $1 each! OMG!
  21. Went at lunch today to a local thrift and found: Haze for the PS3 Donkey Kong 64, boxed Star Fox 64, boxed with rumble pack Castlevania 64, boxed Zelda: Ocarina of Time, boxed All for $18
  22. Decent flea market weekend for my son and I. My son picked up one of the plastic boxes that holds a 2600 (sorry I don't know the exact name) and has slots for carts, came with about 20 games for $10. A couple of nice titles in that lot, Tron: Deadly Disks, Burger Time, and a few others. He also found a table top game, it's a vintage Radio Shack unit. I picked up a bag of SNES stuff for $4. In it was a Super Game Boy, Super Game Genie, a SNES cleaning kit, and Mario Paint sans mouse. Got a N64 Super Game Pad for $2. Devil May Cry for the PS2, and a slim PS2 for $17(needs work but good for parts if nothing else). Saw a LOT game systems of various types, most were insanely priced, one person had a complete N64 setup (no box) for a weekend special of $50! Also spotted a PS2 with a nice selection of Madden titles for $75, Looked like he drug the system there, and the best was a new PS3 with a 20GB drive for $350. Seems like there are two major types that setup at the fleas around here, 1. people who buy a retail lot of crap filler titles (Xbox, PS2) mostly Madden, NBA, MLB and expect big $$ from them, or 2. people who sees an Intellivision sell on e-Bay for $100 and thinks the mud encrusted one with the carts missing labels they have are worth the same. Amazing. My rule of thumb when I ask "how much for your..." and they reply "well on e-Bay I see them sell for..." I just walk away. :-)
  23. For me the absolute worst game ever made is a tie between Sega CD's Bug, and X-box 50 Cent. It does not get much worse than that.
