  1. I once bought a N64 that had grape juice spilled into the console. It was so bad that the power and reset buttons would stick if pressed, otherwise it worked just fine.

I took the entire system apart down to the last screw. Filled the kitchen sink with hot water and a generic oxy-clean type of cleaner.

I even put the mother board in!

I let it sit for a couple of hours then started cleaning using different types of brushes until I had everything shiny as the day it was first opened.

I took an air compressor to the motherboard and got all the water blown out as best I could. I set it aside for three days to completely dry. The plastic parts came out perfect, no labels came off or were hurt. When I re-assembled it, the N64 worked like new.

As for the dishwasher, I'm not a fan because a good soaking for a couple of hours often does a lot better than a few minutes of water splashing around.

    Just my .02

    :-D

  2. Taking a quick look at his other stuff, seems to be a lot more reasonable, but for some reason - the Jag, once again, gets the "special" price treatment. Who knows, maybe down the road he'll have a "buy one, get four free" Jaguar holiday sale. lol

THE worst console with THE worst games none the less. :rolling:

  4. You'd have little trouble getting $20 each. But having the original manual and materials would make them more desirable. They're somewhat devalued these days - Mac65 isn't the pinnacle language cart it used to be thanks to modern emulators and PC-side assemblers. And, there's hacked images around of the OSS carts that allow to run them from a 128K Atarimax cart.

    Thanks for the replies.

I knew their value without manuals\boxes is less, I just wanted an idea of what to ask for them. I don't put stuff like this on eBay unless it's worth the hassle. I'm not an Atari 8-bit user (C= man myself) but figured someone will want them and I don't want to look stupid asking $100 for them. :dunce:

    Thanks again guys!

    Dan

  5. Very nice setup. I thought I was the only one nuts enough to have lots of old C= hard copy books. Nice to have them, isn't it? Love the 128D, very jealous!

    Thanks!

I love having the real books. Plus when the Zombie Apocalypse breaks out I'll have something to read. :skull:

  6. Ok, finally got my C128D and my other C= stuff together and setup in the radio room.

Decided to pack up the Amiga, it was distracting me from my beloved 128D. :-D

So here is the new line up:

    C128D

    1571

    1581 x2

    1902

    C2N

    Star NX1000C

    Super Snapshot V4

Supra modem interface to PC running BBS Server.

Now I have to sort through a ton of disks and get then in order. :)

  7. Thanks!

I'm starting to amass a good collection of boxed C42\128 software. So much in fact I may be facing selling off my Amiga stuff. (I can hear save2600 yelling blasphemer now). :rolling:

But my C= collection has blossomed so big this year that I only have room for one or the other. My heart will always be with my beloved C64\128 so for me the choice is easy. :D

  8. Picked up a bunch of C= stuff last night. The guy was an avid user from back in the day an a real nice guy. Got the following "stuff" from him. All listed software is CIB, the hardware looks nice but not tested yet. There are other games that I have not got to yet to list.

    SSI Games:

    Battle of Antietam

    Gettysburg: The Turning Point

    Knights of The Desert

    Medieval Lords

    Pool of Radiance

    Typhoon of Steel

    Wargame Construction Set

    Warship

    Others:

    Hunt For Red October

Printshop with the first two graphics packages, all three sealed.

    Pirates. New box design

    Pirates Of The Barbery Coast

    Skate or Die

    Stealth Fighter

    Stealth Mission

    War In Middle Earth

    Misc:

    2 boxed Lip Sticks

    2 C64

    1 1541

    1 1571

    1 C64C power supply

1 Unused Memorex 5.25" floppy cleaning kit

1 NX 1000C printer with ribbons

A lot of productivity software titles

Some loose floppy disks and holders

    Copies of manuals

    :o

  9. It looks great! Zero yellowing ;)

Yeah, I've picked up 3 in this condition this year. One was a boxed unit complete. I decided to keep this one as I feel my luck might run dry.

Been getting a lot of C= stuff come my way this year, I'm scared I might be featured on an upcoming episode of Hoarders. :rolling:

  10. Hello all,

I have for sale a very nice and very uncommon (I hate it when people use RARE) C-128 setup. Everything works great, the 128 power supply has some yellowing, all else has some slight normal wear marks. I'd give the overall appearance an 8\10. The Command Center comes in it's original shipping box (no inserts, but I don't think it had them) and includes the slot filler for using a single drive.

Ketek Command Center for the C-128

    Commodore 128

    Commodore 1571

    Suncom joystick

    All the necessary power cables.

PLEASE NOTE: THE MONITOR AND VIDEO CABLES SHOWN ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS SALE.

Asking $200.00 plus shipping. Would like to keep shipping to the US because of price and hassle.

  11. Different styles of parenting ... makes the world go 'round. :) Don't get me wrong. I exact discipline when needed, just like the rest of you. My argument is about property and rights. Based on my understanding of what some of you have typed, you consider your children's property your property, by the mere fact that that child is under your guidance and care. I maintain that if the child worked hard to earn whatever it was (car, Gameboy, whatever), then it is theirs. As parents don't you think we should build our children's concept of right to ownership? My son owns a DSi that he bought with his own money. I don't dictate to him where he can take it, as long as it's not inappropriate to have it there. If he breaks it, his loss, and lesson learned. I will remove his DSi from his possession for punishment, but it remains his, and he knows he will eventually get it back, and he has concept of ownership that it is his. I ask him if I may borrow it if I want to play it, because I respect him and his right to ownership. I own a PSP that he uses regularly. He plays it when he wants, but I make sure he takes care of it when he does, and it doesn't get left in the hot car, or get shared with his friends. The PSP may disappear one day, never to be seen by him again, at my discretion.

And that shows that you are a good parent. You are instilling values into your child that will make his behavior such that you will never have to resort to such drastic discipline. In some cases it's necessary to be firmer with a child.

The worst I ever had to do was one time my eldest daughter (around 12 years old at the time) absolutely refused to clean her room. I'm not talking simple picking up a pair of socks and making her bed, I mean her room was a MESS. I told her one last time either she cleans it up or I do and it all goes in the trash. After filling three bags with her cloths and misc stuff, she finally broke and saw I was not kidding. Never had that problem again. ;)

She's 24 now and when we laugh about that sh still gives me THAT look. She's now an RN and a wonderful young woman.
