Atari is basically my childhood to me, the name alone gives me that feeling you can't quite catch when you remember being a kid, much like Christmas morning. I don't get too caught up with all the overselling of the brand these days to let it tarnish my personal memories, it's much the same with the way yoko has tarnished lennons name with all the tat she sells now with his image, fuck it I've still got my memories of my time with atari (and John lennon) so I'm happy

It's nice to have a conversation about atari with random people in real life once in a while, I find it's always older people and they get all nostalgic which I like, telling me about what games they had, it's a little like finding out a bit of fun from their childhood, which is kind of my own reason for still collecting atari. Good prices you got too

Sincerely, I get what you mean. My problem is, I am illiterate when it comes to programming anything. I live in a rural area in Ireland, there aren't a wealth of night classes available to me, so at least if I give this Java thing a bash, it may help me better to understand programming/coding in general, would you think? At least if I do it then I may have a better understanding of the tutorials you mention above, no? It's only ten classes, plus it will help keep me out of the pub on a thursday I'm going to sign up and see how it goes, and will be back in ten odd weeks!

I have a School near me that's doing evening courses for computer programming in the Java language. I have absolutely no knowledge when it comes to programming. Would this course in any way benefit me in learning more about eventually programming for the Atari 2600? Thanks for any advise anyone can offer.

At 38 years of age, one of my proudest achievements is helping test zippy,and get acknowledged in the manual, I have tons of ideas for games but no computing knowledge, so at least I have done one thing in the atari community
