indy 500 controller/console problem

guess you are correct - I just tried the joysticks and now the console acts like the #1 button is stuck also. something in the console must have gone bad. paddle buttons still work though.

just got a copy of indy 500 w/some driving controllers. for some reason the first car always acts like the button is being pressed - even though both controllers work fine with the second car. the first car is gettig 'gas' even if neither controller is plugged in. Joysticks/paddles work fine (night driver works fine with paddles). Are the driving controllers maybe using some pins the joystick/paddles don't and maybe their is a short in my console somewhere?? has anyone else had this problem? thanks for any suggestions....
