  1. Depends on where you live, Best’s international shipping prices are crazy.
  2. I wish theykd simply send a PayPal request......I keep forgetting to pay ....and the little stamp on the envelope......i never notice it because I rip open the envelope as soon as I find it at home
  3. Yes, we made a mistake on the AntiX website. It has been corrected. What TV do you use ? If its a CRT you might be able to adjust so it will sync at 50Hz. By the way....I just tried AntiX in a 1200XL. Needs an extra socket to make it "float" over GTIA but works fine. The same set-up should work fine in a 130XE. You may need to remove the metal shiels though...

  5. Great ! (got one bag of useless diodes here now.....ahhh whatever...they cost close to nothing anyway....
  6. I have a question: - does downloading the latest version of The!Cart studio overwrite the older folder ? - if so....did I just delete my current workbook this way ? - if so... can I get the workbook I have now on my The!cart back on my Mac ? -if so ....how do I do this ?
  7. Ugghhh.....please don't post that....... i'm starting to miss the one I used to have...... What amazed me is that even though 4 POKEYs are used, they didn't set it up as stereo. The sound uses "fake" stereo, there is a simple phase shifting circuit (old audio equipment sometimes had that too) to give you a FEEL of stereo, but the effect it that sound-wise you are completely disoriented....at least the sound doesn't come from the direction the enemy ship is coming from. Nevertheless...it's an amazing experience. Of course there was also the Texas speech synthesizer, but to this very day I do NOT understand how they made a speech synth sound like the real thing. I mean, the voices....they sound like samples.....but they aren't.... Oh ...and the sound improved a LOT further when I replaced the 4 speakers (2 behind the head, two in the seat) by the same size and shape JBL car speakers with separate bass and mid-drivers and tweeters........WOOOHOOO....that surely rocked uhh... what was the topic again ? Oh yeah... POKEYMAX. Yeah well, like Fred says, Abbuc members will be able to get the sources very soon so everyone could create their own version of the POKEYMAX PCB. If the extra needed space would be moved to the shortest edge (thus making the PCB longer) it would easily fit on at least the SW soundPCB.
  8. Oh and.....I never play the classic "older" games in PAL setting anymore......can't stand the slower speed anymore Since I prefer the older games, it means my AntiX is set to NTSC probably 80% of the time. Even if you so simple stuff like programming, text- editing or whatever, you will gain the 60Hz which is easier on the eye, plus you have the screen in it's proper aspect ratio, not squashed down like PAL.....
  9. Of course it works I'm not telling fairytales here :D AntiX is nothing but a dumb switch between two ANTICs. You may be happy with having multiple machines constantly set-up to run what you like, but I prefer to have only my main (600XL) machine set-up and running as my "master" machine, even though I own many A8 machines. AntiX provides the possibility to very quickly switch between PAL/NTSC ANTICs in one machine. That's it....nothing more, but certainly nothing less But uhmmm....it seems to me you never watched the videos we made for the AntiX website so let me post them here for others to enjoy Oh by the way, yes POKEY plays "faster" in NTSC setting compared to PAL.....what you are experiencing is the actual game speed as intended.....at least with the (older) US software. Thankfully....POKEY is smartly designed to it still plays the (about) the same notes....so only the speed is faster.
  10. Nope, on a NTSC machine, with a PAL ANTIC selected, you will get 50Hz.
  11. You could use the 400/800 adapter for it possibly. Or maybe raise the Sophia with an extra socket ?
  12. No way Burnin Rubber is way more fun and I suggested it long ago..... I just wish I could actually create something like a project like that.....
  13. It sure is ! Maybe with some clever wiring you'd only need two Pokeymaxes ?
  14. Galaxian ! No wait......that needs a whole new version written from scratch. Almost each and every arcade port for the A8 is great but this one.....doesn’t even come close....
  15. I thought it could be supported by firmware ? Dunno.... By the way Jon, I can still switch AntiX with U1MB ....just takes a bit getting used to....
  16. It actually surprises me that VBXE doesn’t provide for NTSC/PAL switching.....
  17. Very easy if AntiX is socketed......plug and play.
  18. I just read the article in the Abbuc magazine about AntiX and would like to respond to two points raised in the article: 1) it is mentioned that the screen that Abbuc used showed some flicker on the bottom on the screen. Sadly, I was never asked about this or notified by Abbuc so I could not respond and maybe solve the issue. Im pretty sure the cause is in the display device, probably a simple adjustment. 2) availability of ANTIC chips is brought up,as a possible issue. Luckily I can reassure that we can provide a rather good number of both PAL and NTSC ANTICs for reasonable prices if ordered with an AntiX PCB. I am looking forward to demonstrate AntiX next Saturday at the JHV. I will be bringing my fully upgraded 600XL, an NTSC 800XL and a very nice - flicker-free - display Hope to see some of you guys there !
  19. Mmmm, Star Wars might be a bit tight.....Might just fit....
  20. Uh.....it looks to me like the size it is now is already small enough to make it fit on any POKEY equipped arcade PCB ?
  21. If the 2600 can do this (release in November by AA).......the A8 should be able to do better..... Nothing but amazing this work......the music is well done too....sampled of course but who cares.....its there !
  22. No, I power my Sdrive Max from the SIO port.
