Shame is, the atari-shop.nl still promotes homebrews via the linkj you´ve provided, and should therefore be kept on the list, but they do not sell all other Lynx items any more Shame. I ordered 4 or 5 times from there when I built my collection up.

There is no real problem with fake cards on the Lynx Different versions, yes. I think, e.g. of Super Off-Road, there is a curved lip version and a chip version, but both made and marketed by Telegames, so not fake. What happens or has happened is unauthorized guys who put free homebrew on a card and sell it. I´ve never come across one of those myself but earlier when I had dug deep in the archive, some homebrewers made justified complaints about this, or take competition entries shortly again after away from the net again.- Just to mention the only oddity I can think of, be aware that if you stumble across the "Eye of the Beholder" ebay one, the one most often being sold or seen is just a DEMO I like the Gamegear again, too - just got mine back from "refurbishing shower" - something the Lynx never needs .

Wish I had mine already been in the mail for 2 1/2 weeks. Looking forward to it! -
Thank you, Ninjabba

I was just about to suggest the same as LX.NET did in #2 : Interviews with the Lynx supporting programmers in its long afterlife. Not exactly a "human interest story" but to explain why the Lynx has just a great afterlife, how and why and under which circumstances and which motivation and what these guys since the mid-Nineties did for the Lynx-hobby (and why not for other consoles or cell phones etc.). Such interviews might be far easier to arrange for you than getting the Atari programmers; tho one was very active a few months ago regarding S.T.U.N. Runner here on AA.

Zaku for the Atari Lynx: Official thread
Atari_afternoon replied to DeathAdderSF's topic in Atari Lynx
However, their site still says "Note: At the moment, Zaku is out of stock but is still available for backorder. As soon as the new stock has arrived from our factory, your order will be mailed to you. " Great to hear the news about shipment , thanks for updating -
Sounds unique to me (at any rate in the handheld area!)

Lynx Tempest "Ouragan" being continued by authors
Atari_afternoon replied to 4ever2600's topic in Atari Lynx
Thank you I have totally missed it. Should also bookmark the Lynx developers section I think. -
Yes, in RR4WD you are not really pushed to the side while in a curve, very unusual for a racing game, and you must not steer while jumping in the air otherwise you just roll over. However, I like its shoot-while-you-drive feeling better than Roadblasters and it´s full of humour. I like how the others crash against rocks or into each other while I drive by. The pros are, many tracks, music while racing, you can choose the order in which to race the tracks, it´s 3D-lookalike (unlike Championship Rally, which is more Micromachines-like). Raiden is very hard but looks good. If you like ZarlorMercenary you should get it. For a long while I´ve also wanted to get PokerMania. Gameplay looks much like the GG Solitaire Poker, which I have played a lot... I really wish the next run of Zaku is available soon. I´ve only discovered the Lynx for me just after the first edition sold out. EOTB is a very different story. Many interesting threads here about it and lengthy lists . Some considered it the holy grail Last year BetaPhase Games published three "new" games from the mid-Nineties, Hot Dog (only 7 levels, a proto of a platformer), Poker (which is what it says...no online reviews to be found) and Relief Pitcher (looks a lot like the arcade version, also, have never found an online review, have never seen the latter two in action yet). I think these three can count as official releases since they have secured the rights form the developers.

Very worth buying of those that are not in your list yet IMO are CyberVirus (outstanding FPS), Lynxopoly (favourite board game on any handheld), Yastuna 2 (a very good mixture, love the Domino "Zen" gameplay and music and in contrast to it, the wonderful Space Invaters clone), Lexis and RoadRiot4WD (only a proto but IMO on a par with CheckeredFlag). Interesting what you write about Lemmings, Desert Strike, Super Off Road- the latter was and is one of my SMS/GG faves and I was really disappointed about the playability of the Lynx version, very true. Xenophobe is one of my faves but I rarely get past the first level with that shooting camera following me.

New game in development "GREEN LITTLE QUAK QUAK"
Atari_afternoon replied to matashen's topic in Atari Lynx
Haven´t heard from you and 108Stars for a while the quak quak is not forgotten. NOT being impatient but waiting for some gaming soon when you can -
I´m having this "Problem" only with Gamegears I have three here by now, refurbished one to "as almost new", one with quiet sound and one other quiet one I managed to break myself while testing my repair skills Luckily the Lynx has much much better aging! In Germany it´s actually HARD getting a Lynx WITH games (which as I say is sooo common a scenario with GG stuff) since Lynx game sellers never seem to have a reason to offer a "half-broken" Lynx as free giveaway with games.

Stereo on Lynx 2 - Observation about Xenophobe
Atari_afternoon replied to GadgetUK's topic in Atari Lynx
I don´t think this is correct, it came later, it was no release title. True, only some Lynx games support the stereo of the Lynx II. Klax does, Roadblasters does... In which respects the different ROMS are indeed different as to stereo/mono - I have never heard of that.... -
This is a good description. The gun is there all the time and it moves while "walking", my nose just can never seem to leave the wall and true, it does not crash. Only the 3D part looks weird this way. You see nothing where you go
-
No, I noticed it, too. The angle does not seem to matter
-
Lynx 2. The wall it boots up with, I cannot get away from it with my nose. Only strafe left and right. It plays fine also on LynGoo (Dingoo A 320 Lynx emulator), just like on the PSP Lynx. Thanks for working on new Lynx games
-
I´m trying it out on the flashcart now. Will edit more in later. EDIT This is strange. I tried it on the PSP Handy emulator yesterday and it worked very fine there. As expected like a one-room Wolfy. Running. shooting , strafing, the ghost enemy, very fine. Plays like Wolfy or the Lucien Klijkers 3D demo BUT with opponent to hunt. No doors to open and nothing to collect I think, 1 room only. Uploading to FC went from scratch with the 512 kb setting like you said - but I´m stuck in front of a wall with my nose and can walk/strafe only sidewards. I cannot move front or back. It´s as if there were no floors there and my nose was nailed to the wall. Do I make sense? Looking forward to seeing this developed I like the colorful color scheme.

New game in development "GREEN LITTLE QUAK QUAK"
Atari_afternoon replied to matashen's topic in Atari Lynx
I´m looking forward to it -
Unfortunately it´s still out of stock so I only know the soundless but graphically stunning demo level that I think you can still download from the SF Team website and play in Handy/on flashcart. I would love to have the full thing.
