  1. I usually end at day 4 or 5 I crash too much and have not yet gotten the baddie. Driving around catching litterbugs is fun, the game is generally very good, I´ll see what I can do for a HSC....
  2. It definitely is a great and much underrated handheld, which still has a solid fan base today, it´s also great to play on and the screen is not that bad at all (the Gamegear is worse). I agree that 60 pounds is a bit too much. I got mine for roughly a third and the Rygar cartridge for ca. 6 or 8 at most.
  3. Yes, I got a very similar reply. Since it appears they will defititely do a second run, I´m fine with that. As long as it´s "definite", I won´t mind a few more months til ordering then.
  4. It´s true he did it for traffic. Understandably. At least you all talk about it now
  5. Totally hopeless for me to take part in this HSC but I will try again. Yesterday I made it until some 15 minutes playtime until I bumped, bumped, bumped and all continues were munched.
  6. You are welcome! Better safe then sorry. I have bought Lynx games from Germany, the Netherlands, Greece, the UK and the US and never had a problem.
  7. All Lynx games work in all Lynxes. The only ever problem you might encounter with some recent homebrews is, you might find it hard to close the Lynx 1 lid.
  8. Ok, I guess I better email him about Zaku, too and thanks for the update.
  9. Hey, I dont find the text thaaaat bad. It´s not really unvafourable for the LYnx. The author lists the known to nowadays shortcomings and the "for-kiddies-then-shortcomings" (no popular licenses, everyone had GB etc) in a pretty balanced manner to my understanding. For me it sounds as if the author, like all of us here, would have wanted much more success for the Lynx because of its advantages, which are also listed. Anyone who is a serious gamer will look elsewhere from the above list, and find far more favourable mentions of the Lynx. Even if a sh1tty list (which this one isn´t IMHO) brings up the very existence of a console to a new reader then the list is ok to me, even if I heavily contradict to what they say about it And I would really love to get a Virtual Boy!
  10. Got Championship Rally today, at last. After one hour of playtime I can say it is a nice addition and a very respectable effort but not an essential. That said, if you enjoy racing games, get it. It´s not as exciting as Cybervirus, if you compare these two, and CV has become an all time Lynx favourite of mine. I find the Training more interesting than the Tournament since you can customize your racing car and the AI ones, acceleration, max. speed etc., pretty everything, it´s fun to play around with this but you can´t do this in tournament mode. In my personal Lynx racing game hitlist, it would be 1. Checkered Flag 2. Road Riot (far underrated. I really enjoy this one and it´s only a very close second) 3. Championship Rally (very good quality homebrew, small and not too easy) 4. Roadblasters 5. Hydra (mainly due to the tricky steering, which in this game I have given up to ever manage...) So if anyone asked me, CV is more a standout title on the Lynx, CR is a very solid homebrew development, have realistic retrogame expectations and you´ll like it
  11. ^^I must say I´d be definitely interested in Ponx, Carl [Expecting ChampRallye next week to come, BTW. And if you won´t issue the above you mentioned I´ll look for a normal copy this autumn.] The PITS card, is it really all in German? If so, it would be the only non-English Lynx game/homebrew/cart FWIK. The onl exception I can think of is the text adventure Merlin on teh Y1-card, which is in both English and French.
  12. OK. Making notes "employ gnome...employ cleric". My party was too monotone
  13. Yes, surely I do, I reported a bit about the gameplay and early experiences and one or two minor spoilers in your German forum but haven´t come beyond level 2 so far (after abt 10 hours of playtime). Since last Thursday I have put the sceptre into someone else´ hands for the time being, expecting him to bring my group with full health and in top condition right to the final and 99% defeated end level opponent Are you still playing without third party help, i.e. maps? (I assume noone knows about ration cheats...)
  14. Hi there! 1. Might be that the socket of the Lynx is damaged then? Sounds mor elikely to me then. Tho from what I know this is not a common fault. 2. Take care that you get the correct sun visor - the one for the LYnx 2 is of a different size. If you need a replacement shield ask here on the forum. I´m also sure there are many mailorder dealers out there who, unlike Atari themselves, still have Lynx spare parts for very cheap. 3. No. Why flimsy? - However, I haven´t comlynxed myself yet but FWIK there is no other option than the cable. All the best and have fun with your Lynx
  15. Yes, I agree, it´s a great game spent some 4 hours with it today (in fact, my rechargeables went up when I took the final pic). Still on the 1st floor Since I have been so lucky to receive it first in Germany (must be my own Goddess of Fortune in August), Tempest2k asked me to take some pics. So, a little tour through what was all part of the package (minus the mail cardboard box and two plastic bags in which the game cartridge was held). The booklet. Very informative and helpful. The pages are slightly uneven but it really doesn´t matter. Box flipside and postcard front, which is identical to the box front. Booklet page with Eric´s greetings and cartridge front side. Cartridge back. The "EOTB"-doorbell sticker is by me, to cover that EPROM. Cartridge front. Tried to take picture w/out flashlight, the label would reflect too much. The "famous" booklet error number one And consequently, number two The game title OK. Well known this one. The controls. Important to know. Eric, thanks a lot again for all your combined work to bring this game to the public
  16. Arrived just now Thank you once again for all your work, Eric.- And I can promise you that the box will land on display but the cartridge won´t leave the Lynx so soon
  17. Sorry, haven´t seen this before. Usually lurking around in the Lynx section mostly... I use StellaDS all the time, it´s by now the main thing I do with the DS and I have no problems with 90% of all Atari games. Some play slower (Solaris,...) but the sound has always been ok here, so not sure what you mean by slow sound.
  18. I wonder who will be the first one to get it in Germany waiting for the "Land ahoy!" shout
  19. Well it´s not the best to start with. It´s one of the maybe half dozen Lynx games that everyone in the world who has ever had a Lynx seems to have no good opinion about. Tournament Cyberball or Pit Fighter being other strong candidates for the boo list. HArd Drivin´ , on the other hand, I´ve found myself playing it a lot. Most if not all other Lynx games you may ever find you cannot go wrong with
  20. Xenophobe. Yastuna 2. Checkered Flag. Steel Talons. Really just two, with fun and high replay value? Hmmm. Xenophobe and Steel Talons. Favourite homebrews are Y2, Lynxopoly and Cybervirus. Welcome to the Lynx And it´s a hard question - it would be easier to give you a two-game list with titles to avoid lol. Start with Xenophobe, Steel Talons, Checkered Flag, Xybots, they are all rel. easy to find and cheap to be had My first were Steel Talons, Blue Lightning and Xybots. Not even a year ago. I even started a thread here thinking aloud what to get next etc and the people here were really helpful.
  21. For Fathers Day: "Eye Am The Beerholder"
  22. Can I have one with "Aye to the Beholder"-label variation?
  23. I´m impatiently looking forward to my copy, even if page 7 and 10 are screwed up
