Thank you very much for a wonderful game!

Nice
Maybe add a link to PC emulators like Stella?- The Youtube idea I have come across because for an unrelated-to-Atari project we have tried the same, and a few short "educational" 60-90 seconds videos with text-over do indeed contribute to solve a few FAQs there. So I thought it might work here, too
kind of the advanced version to screenshots, which is always asked for it seems

I was regularly looking for new homebrews just on www.pdroms.de only (hope linking is allowed in this case...); this post http://www.pdroms.de/news/23021/ had actually led me to here! ^^No doubt there are other forums and non-English places that I might not know but that have an even higher Google rating.
Do you have a personal Myspace/Facebook etc? A blog? It would give Ature a better Google exposure. And with Windows Movie Maker, you could do a short video with text over, for youtube or possibly archive.org; YouTube is accessed by many many people and "bypassers"...it likely would bring more people to here

-
Oh, on my DSlite it works very well. Slightly slower but 85% of all games I tried run very comfortably.
-
Have you also posted about it on other public domain + homebrew boards? Not the discussion, just about its existence and where to reach you for questions etc.
I know I found your game (and this forum!) from a Germany PD Roms-Forum, so a short summary on other fora will certainly do some good

Just my idea.

I cannot access Chuckster´s site any more. I had found it through the German homebrew side homebrewwelt.com some 2 years ago.
Oops, no, found it, he has changed the sitename: http://www.charlesmoyes.com/index.php?id=19
Still, last update 03.05.06

Looks nice
What will the objective of the game be? Something like Pressure Cooker?
Looking forward to any updates!
-
Yes, it normally happens when the file name is too long. That´s the reason I have found at least.
-
Thank you so much for all your work, beoran !
-
I am proud to be one of the first happy ones to have seen it being developed. Beoran has created a great game!!
-
Almost got them for Pitfall 2 and Beamrider today. Almost.
For H.E.R.O. I am only half-way. Not past level 7 yet.
-
A few of these badges are pretty easy to get...others I cannot even dream of

Just looking it up right now on my cartridge...
Patches I have only achieved for Chopper Command (was easy) and Pitfall (needs trying but if you could it 23 years ago you can it now). Not Keystone Kapers?? i have played that for ages! (too many medium sessions it seems)
I feel it plays better in the GBAdvance but I´m having it in the GB Micro right now! Man, I wish you could come over for a beer or so (and get me a few more badges)!
-
Agree with you everywhere! Also un the gaming value of the GB Micro.
The Activision Anthology for the GBA was what brought me into retrogaming and checking out emulators afterwards and the homebrew scene on this forum. Especially "Skeleton Plus" made me checkout homebrew forums and made me land here.
If you can get the GBA cartridge, it is worth it. I am from Germany and I had to import it from the US, it is not common here. Had no luck on xxxx.de or even .co.uk at all.
Also many games on there are ones I have hitherto not known. I had an Atari from 1986 til around 93 and my friends who had one, and I, have never heard of obviously very common games on there like Pitfall 2 or Keystone Kapers. So they were brand-new to me.
I don´t necessarily GO for the badges...just take them as a side-effect. I´m more the "coffee-break" and "play-in-bed" gamer" and less of a "sports-gamer" (running for highscores).
-
Thank you for the new version, beoran
As usual (for me), I´ll give it intensive treatment with Stella DS later accompanied by my bedtime tea 8-)
-
I like its simplicity more and more. I played it after a little FIFA football world cup party and the water shimmers like crazy if you had a few

The water looks great!
-
Hehe. I like it. Thank you
Works fine with Stella and I hope, with Stella DS. -
Yes, it´s a nice game
tried it out last night. Still have to figure out how to get beyond level 2, I´ll report back!-

Damn, after 15 minutes the other day I played it over an hour yesterday (or more precisely, the equivalent of 3 coffee mug).
It´s a lovely little game and I still have a long "way to go".
Thanks once more. Work of over a year, wow

-
I played it some 15 minutes the previous evening via Stella DS, I like it. It is a nice little decent game for a coffee break to get away from stress.
Much to explore, run around and much to "kill by sword".

Thanks once more. I´ll play it regularly, that´s for sure.
PS. http://www.pdroms.de/news/23021/ which is where I found it.
-
Thank you for your work

I´m trying it out at the moment with Stella. Works great so far.
Looking forward to later when I´ll be trying it on my DS, which is my favourite way to play Atari in bed now

Again, thanks! Found you by the PDRom-site (pdroms.de, public domain collection)

I was always VERY excited. "Always", in the latter half of the 1980ies (Atari Junior here) means, every Christmas and birthday. Especially the first four ones, Midnight Magic, Ms. Pac-Man, Mario Bros., Jungle Hunt, plus one where my friends put together the vast sum of 20 DM (Deutsche Mark=10 Euro today), which was "Bobby geht nach Hause" (they laughed at me then
), each one of them I played more than the preceding one. Unwrapping the box, opening it and reading the manual (some but not all were not in German) and then "discovering" it, alone and then, over the next months, in multiple two-player sessions, yes, I´ll never forget this
"Midnight Magic" ran all the time but most later liked the interactivity of "Mario".
The Quelle (Sears-alike) company had many games but most were of unreachable 30-40 DM (including the Donkey Kong-disappointment) so I swapped a few from friends and finally got 3 collections totalling 20 cartridges.
This was different from "waiting for weeks for one new game", getting a batch of used ones. A bag of many afternoons of fun, no doubt, but different. They were "too easy to obtain"
haha.In retrospect, and OT, I find it strage that noone here I knew at that time had a Colecovision or NES, and only one had a C64 and Amiga 500. Next thing I know was the leap towards PCs.
Anyway, them being expensive, me being young and having to wait for these twice-a-year periods made me full of expectations and a sense of "killing the old highscopre" that I´ve never had since then in the same intensity...
-
Wow - thanks so much for compiling this exhaustive colelction!
-
...Your most favourite DS "game" is StellaDS, starting with Berzerk
...Your most favourite GBA game of all times is the comparatively rare "Activision Anthology" (which grabbed me by my collar to join the retrogaming community early last year)
...You are, after all these years, still sad that your father threw away your terrific and collected-over-many-years 30-cartridge childhood collection during your first year at university

Damn, it was only one joystick. All the rest was intact and should have been passed down the family tree !

Very good news, Albert !
