Any Gamegear recommendations if I like Lynx games?
Atari_afternoon replied to sirlynxalot's topic in Atari Lynx
GG Road Rash is somehow my perceived equivalent to Road Riot (4WD). Also definitely check out the GG cart of Super Off Road Other than that, well, i love the GG "Mappy", this would have been great on the Lynx as well i think. (Marble Madness does exist on the Lynx, but only as a homebrew few level demo on the S.I.M.I.S. card.) http://www.monlynx.de/lynx/simis/index.html, as one of the # "5. Specials" ) -
Autumn 2010, from a Greek ebay seller. The Lynx 2 itself was in good condition (but I know it was worked on it, it has mono-through-headphones sound). Getting it was not without problems, obviously, he had wanted more for it than the auction had brought up. After over a week of silence, he plainly emailed back "I have changed my mind.", then he "agreed" to follow the ebay rules but wanted more for "fast postage". I really wanted to have one, as a gamer, I had almost begged him to play fair to a fellow gamer and from then on the mood swang, he unexpectedly agreed to ship it the slow, already paid for way. So all in all, while in a good atmosphere, such "I´m a fellow hobbyist!" messages were going to and fro for days while I saw him piling up "bad" ebay points from some other customers (for example, "claims he has lost the Baseball Heroes CIB"). But my Lynx arrived, and just days later his ebay account was closed. So, somehow I consider this Lynx 2 a symbol of a small personal victory, by powers of persuasion

The Lynx II is "better" (a little less energy consumption, smaller dimension, better cartridge slot, all in all, the technically updated model), but the Lynx I has more style and I always love playing on a Lynx I when i get the chance. Model I is harder to obtain I´m afraid..

Looks fantastic!

I am playing extra Lynx minutes every evening this week. Trying to think of one of those guys who have made this lovely console possible. It is so well designed and so much more powerful and simply, better, than all the other early-mid Nineties handhelds that I know.

Looks great if only we could replace the "Viking Child" sprite with "Helmut"

I comlynxed Zarlor Mercenary for the first time in my life today

Can´t believe we have never thought of Zarlor for Comlynxing. Got to bring this up at our next local meeting here! coop-shooting must be awesome side by side! -
What are some good 2 player comlynx games for novice players?
Atari_afternoon replied to sirlynxalot's topic in Atari Lynx
Rampage, very easy to learn Battlewheels, great fun. Warbirds. I think at every Lynx meeting, we start with Battlewheels. It´s like Doom multiplayer. -

Thinking of offering Refurb/Upgrade Services
Atari_afternoon replied to cowdog360's topic in Atari Lynx
I would say it is much needed. Even if the Lynx can be opened relatively easily, the normal user will not have compression air, spare parts etc at hand, and rather prefer to have someone "certified"/respected do the job, especially if it takes you just a day or two, which for me, for example, would take weeks of reading tutorials, ordering parts (and additional weeks of waiting) and then having to stall again because AGAIN, one screw/one 10 cents cap is missing => re-order=> wait another few weeks => anger -
It works like a charm on Pandora-Handy very beautiful. @ Trew, thanks for the settings reminder will try this tomorrow.

aah thanks no, i mean the Lynxman one

Thank you 2048 has already been a great timewaster on the Mega Drive . Looks like perfect for the Lynx. Will try it tonight - true, a lnx file for the flashcart would be much appreciated For now, "Handy" will do nicely

Eye of the Beholder on eBay . . . . only $10,000
Atari_afternoon replied to MacRorie's topic in Atari Lynx
Thank you, GadgetUK. I find this positive because now you are able to play with multiple saves -
Congratulations Nice introduction "Nessie" video with bagpipe music, great looking large character Pity it only seems to be a 2-level-demo, with only one menacing enemy and no goodies or coins to harvest; it has been discussed on the forum before about the time I joined (2010) and I don´t recall any "news" since then Thank you for uploading a gameplay video.

Beta Release Eye of the Beholder - Atari Lynx
Atari_afternoon replied to mvirtuale's topic in Atari Lynx
I played it seriously for a good while, not having much experience with dungeon crawlers before but I got along through floor 2 very well, then I "cheated" because of running around too many errands (losing time is punished) : I printed out the entire maps and had them right on my lap, but then got stuck in floor 3. The other week i found unexpected action and progress when going back to (falling back into) floor 2 It is 10 floors altogether. The controls are truely ok, the fight system is well done, but I get lost too soon ... -
Now that I see it again I think I did a big mistake when I swapped this game away... *sigh*

Flashcard or boxed originals? Advice wanted
Atari_afternoon replied to BadPricey's topic in Atari Lynx
I feel the same about it, too. The late market games, the ones that you like, should be obtained physically Flashcart for me is 99% for testing and playing the homebrews (Luchsenstein, Alien, Allein). [The 1% is RoadRiot4WD. ] -
When comparing it with the Gamegear version, which I really love, I must admit that here (and probably only here), the Lynx is second line only....
-
But since people are already testing it, we spectators know it´s getting serious now

Welcome back Funny, only today I was asked, by a visitor in my living room, what that papercard "Eye of the Beholder" is about that he saw on my bookshelf ;D
