  1. Well, I can't get too mad. 8 Imagic games, with manuals and overlay 1 without overlays and one with nothing, and 5 Activision games with manuals and overlay for $50 total. I'm a lunatic for River Raid, I woulda paid $50 for it alone (though I know it's not worth that much). It's really not that bad a deal, even if Tower of Doom wasn't Tower of Doom. Next to seek Pac-Man, Tower of Doom, Commando, the Golf and Basketball games, and Shark Shark. And Kool aid Man! I don't care that it sucks, it's Kool-Aid! Wish me luck as I search in the wild and on ebay. I swear I should add audio reviews of these games to my radio station for fun.
  2. Turns out the White Water has the manual, but no box or overlays.
  3. Well, I got the package today. Unsurprisingly, while White Water is very pretty, I can think of many games I'd rather have, heh. I'm going to be frank here (though I'm better at being Victor!).. I've never met a game of this genre I've cared for.. not Toobin', not Cobra Triangle, not Lunar Lander, no Solar Jetman.. I just don't like games where the primary mechanic is to fight against currents or gravity. Tropical Trouble is surprisingly bad as well. Extremely pretty, though. The package was also supposed to include Tower of Doom, but it was just another copy of Treasure of Tarmin.
  4. Actually White Water is on it's way from a friend, it should get here Tuesday or Thursday. I've played it a smidge on emulators but that really doesn't count. So..essentially.. I'll have to get back to you on that one. And.. wow that looks really good.. that's DK as it shoulda been done.
  5. I meant that I can;t find it's homepage or any information... tohugh that does sound nice.
  6. I keep hearing about that but Google searches yield a lot of mixed results.
  7. This is the mutant offspring of a message in the trading post. I was asked what I have already.. and instead I wrote a list of what I DON'T have and what I knew about them. It was suggested that such a thread could be fun here as people talk about games... so.. here we go. Monster post time! In fact, here's such a list, with commentary, thanks to the emulator I found having a complete games list: All of the homebrews (Stonix, 4-tris and whatnot). Don't know enough about 'em to comment. Astrosmash - Have it on my 2600 Blockade Runner - don't even know what it is. Body Slam Pro Wrestling (very nice I heard but stupidly hard to find) Brickout - which I hear wasn't actually released? Buzz Bombers - Don't have and don't want Carnival - Doesn't work on my system anyway Checkers - Nice to have, not crucial. Championship Tennis - The wife and I enjoy the far earlier Tennis game, but... not really crucial Chip Shot Super Pro Golf - Is on my want list Congo Bongo - Never liked it on any system I've ever played to date. Doubt the Inty will change that. Commando - Wow. Looks amazingly fun, almost up there with the C-64 version. Defender - The more I play Nova Blast the more I wonder if I actually DO want Defender. The controllers.. really aren't right for this kinda game. Dig Dug - Was actually the very first video game I ever played, albeit the 2600 version. Diner - My wife likes Burgertime, I figure she'd like Diner Donkey Kong - Doesn't work on my system, and looks bad, too Dragonfire - Eh. I'll pass Electric Company games - Same deal.. not interested Fathom - never heard of it Frog Bog - surprised I don't already own Happy Trails - Doesn't look fun. Hover Force - Got it on Microsoft'a Game room, it does look like the kidna tihng I'd like to own but.. not easy to find. Ice Trek - don't know enough about it to judge. Jetsons - Eh. don;t have an ECS Kool-Aid man - I know it's an awful game but... I'm a child of the 80's... so do I want it? OH YEAH. League of Light - Never heard of it. Loco-Motion - Looks like.. well.. Happy Trails Mind Strike - Again, never heard of it. Motocross - As a big fan of Racing Destruction Set, I think I might be interested in this earlier effort Mouse Trap: Never heard of it. A take on the board game? "Assorted Sports games" - Missing Super Pro versions of Hockey, Basketball, and Volleyball Pac-Man - It's Pac man! I want to own it for every system I ever own! Heh. PGA Golf - Inferior golf game I hear, so I'll just seek out Chip Shot Pinball - What little I played of it was really REALLY fun Pole Position - I hear bad things. Popeye - Is the Inty's any good? If so... kinda want Q-Bert - So my wife cna beat me at it on another system! Reversi - Eh. If it's cheap Robot Rubble - I hear this was never actually released but was fun. Scooby Doo - Agian, no ECS Santa's Helper - ?? I love Christmas games but.... what IS this? Sewer Sam - I hear I'm not missing much not having it Shark! Shark! - Played it before at a friends ohuse as a child. Loved it! Stadium Mud Buggies - I had it on my NES. my desire to own it on the Inty is.. well.. not worth the price it costs. Empire Strikes Back - thought I had this. I don't. My wife's a BIG Star Wars nut. She hates it when I call her that, because she feels the need to instantly correct me saying she is a "skinny" Star Wars nut, thank you very much. I can see why... female Star Wars fans do tend to resemble Jabba though they tend to dress like Leia. *shudders* Never going to another fan con no matter HOW much I love my wife. Super Cobra - That's.. good on every system I've ever played it on before. Super Masters - Never heard of it Thin Ice - it's on the list, but not crucial Turbo - meh Chess - Can't ever find it anywhere. Vectron - Dunno what it is Venture - Doesn't work on Inty 2. Mmmm... thanks for reading my long boring post! Lol
  8. Will do! And for the record, I don't care about boxes and whatnot. So if it's you who's interested in a CIB White Water I'd be happy even with a sloppy loose Pac-Man.
  9. Oh gosh. It'd be quicker to list what I don't have, or at least it might generate more fun discussions. 10. Thank you. And I do know I could have just googled up the information, but it's more fun to get answers from other actual players. That's a good site you linked me to.
  11. As per the topic... we just recently got into the Intellivision on a whim and... well.. we love it. Amazing system. We're looking for Pac-Man. Defender, Kool Aid Man, and Worm Whomper to get together what I feel is a "complete" collection for me. In trade we have an extra.. let's see.. Atlantis, Demon Attack.. White Water, Stampede, Beauty and the Beast, and Beamrider. all of the above are loose and with no overlays except for Stampede, and White Water has the box, manual and overlays. I also have a Tropical Trouble I might be talked into parting with, though I can't say if that means anything in real trade value. If none of the above interest anyone who has those games.. well.. there's always good old cash. Thanks for looking at our wanted list. I believe I also would part with my TG-CD It Came From the Desert, not horribly rare but also not entirely common. The Ziblis Family www.townparkradio.com P.S. ...my wife also tells me there exist Parker Bros. games for the system, but I don't know what all they released so can only say... I dunno what we'd want? Zaxxon? Except that's not Parker Bros. Probably Sega. Ahh well. For a guy who knows so much about C-64, Amiga and 2600, I sure know very little about what's shaping up to be the favorite of the old systems, even if it is just the "inferior" Inty II.
  12. ...am I the only one vaguely concerned that this is the only front page news in almost three months?
  13. Eh. It takes forever to get them to ship anything anyway.
  14. If memory serves...I think Mouse Trap is also incompatible with the INTV 2, although I'm pretty sure the CBS versions of all three games work.... ...foggy memory... That said, welcome to our vibrant INTV community (I'm going to have to keep coming up with variations of that welcome it seems ). This is a great place to discuss everything INTV (also obviously many other classic systems). As for games you may want to check out the marketplace as you can usually find pretty good deals from fellow AA members, and/or post a list of what you're looking for and you just might find someone here has it. At this juncture I'm mostly interested in Activision, Atarisoft, Imagic, the first DnD game.. and.. well.. the Tron games, heh. Basically the things you can't find on the "Lives" collections. Though I also wanna find a Triple Action. the biplanes game really brought my wife and I together, and I want to find a real copy to relive on real hardware what made me decide to marry her on the PS2 emulation. Time to look in the marketplace posts, eh?
  15. Thank you very kindly. No, I'm not at all concerned about storage. Secondary question, despite the name of the website here. How...exactly.. did the 2600 beat this thing? Alright, a rhetorical question, just saying. It's awesome! The games are so in depth and complex. I mean I do love my Atari, I still have mine in working order and last played it Christmas Day with my wife... but the Intellivision is a lot more cerebral. I can't believe I used to make fun of my cousins for having this 28 years ago.
  16. Hi folks, I'm a recent new Intellivision owner. Won a lot on Ebay which came with an Intellivision II, along with 8 games; 3 of them are two player only. The downside was that it only came with one controller. I was surfing around the web, and came up with this page: http://4jays.net/store//page86.html Does anyone know which, if any, of the controllers listed on this page would work for an Intellivision II? I sent an email off to the owner of the site about two weeks ago asking the same question and no response. I want to order and get a few games as well but.. well.. don't want to order the wrong things. Mmm.. oh yeah! I also know Donkey Kong (...and nothing of value was lost) and Venture (that's a shame) won't work on the Intellivision II. Any others I should be aware of? Again, thanks for your time.
  17. It's not difficult to fix, plus the new generation of controllers come with a good D-pad by default. If you don;t like something, fix it. Seriously, what kinda Atari enthusiast is afraid to rip open a controller and do things to it?
  18. Pick up the second controller in your other hand. Use one controller to move, the second's number pad to fire. Et viola! No need to stop moving, no hack needed. Works for Night Stalker as well.
  19. Freeway. I hated that game as a child, still hate it as an adult. My brother and I, in our 30's, played Activision Anthology on the PS2 and he goes "Oh man I LOVE Freeway!" and wanted to paly 2 player. I proceeded to rack up 35 as my brother floundered to 12. He then said, "you're really good at this... I thought you hated this game?" and I responded, "Duh. That's WHY I got so good at it. So I could kick your (redacted) so hard at the game so repeatedly you'd stop trying to make me play it." And I haven't played it since. I came to hate that game with a burning white hot intensity that I still, after 20 years not playing it, was only a few points down from the world record FOR the game.
  20. *thread necromancy* I just ran into a video for this on youtube and had to have it. The music and menus alone are amazing, and the games all look good, even Tossing Cookies seems allright by me. I ordered it today, and am eager to recieve. I mean, I haven't turned my Atari on in like... two whole weeks (curse you Xbox Live/Windows Live Game Room). Thanks guys, you're saving my 2600 from fading into obscurity!
  21. Does anyone know how long the pre orders will be available? The wife and I are in a bit of a financial crunch so it will be a bit before we can do this thing. Also... is there a radio commercial for the Flashback 2 in general? I'll be happy to advertise for free. You can be heard by potentially six or seven people at once on Town Park Radio! Lol. ...actually while I'm at that, I'll happily advertise for homebrews and hardware and whatnot. I think it would be neat if more awareness could be spread on these types of projects.
  22. I like that game a lot. It's just a shame they lost the "Saturday Night Fever" license and had to name it after some form of fighting, though.
  23. To make it clear, I believe the problem is that you tried to DLDI patch something you don't have to. Also, make sure your card is formatted standard FAT and not NTFS or even *sigh* FAT32, or else Stella can;t figure out how to process it. Again, you're wasting your time trying, though.
  24. Most modern cards are self DLDI patching, so you probably don't need to do anything at all. That said, the DS port of Stella is absolutely pathetic. We're talking like 1/10th the speed on the games it emulates the fastest. Synthcart is so far beyond the tricks this port is capable of soas to not bother trying.
