    If this is the French guy i'm thinking of, he has a history of scavving images from the web and then "selling" items to himself. It's a strange tax dodge on the lsot money through fees.. Kinda like Uwe Boll's shitty movies: if any of them actually turned a profit; he'd end up losing money.

    I listened for the first 10 minutes or so, I heard some weird al song about guns, lol

     

    Trigger Happy. Makes fun of gun nuts in the style of the beach Boys. weird Al is awesome. You missed it, I devoted a song to you!

     

     

    What song? White and Nerdy? I was having internet problems and that player kept freezing, So i gave up. I was online and planned to listed to the whole show. Sorry. Maybe next week. :)

     

    The "Player of your choice" buttons work also, ya know.

    So, we're finally getting enough sun that I can game, so I pulled the Inty off the shelf from where it had been sitting since I got D1K Arcade... in fact that was still IN it, heh.. and hooked her up all excited like you would not BELIEVE.

     

    Black screen on power on. I fiddled, changing channels, taking controllers out, different outlets, different RF cable, different carts and inserting at different depths and I ONCE managed a fully green screen; not Intellivision Cartridge Bootup green, though. No sound or anything. It's a Sears unit and it seems to be dead, Jim. I'm not afraid to solder and use a voltmeter... does anyone know any troubleshooting steps I can take?

    It's Donkey Kong ... let's face it, if you created an app for the iPad exactly like this, Nintendo would be on you faster than Rev on a Golden Girl :-o ... this escapes through because it's created for a system that most of the rest of the world have forgotten about.

     

    People still buy Intellivisions (I still sell them on eBay quite well!) but they buy them to relive their favorite games. That creates a market, but only for old existing games that people played as a kid. Some people, such as myself, will stumble onto this board and find the wonderful world of Intellivision here and see the value in new games ... but not most. I think that you need to appeal to them in one of two ways. First, bring a popular game onto the system (such as D2K has done) or second, to create a sequel to existing Intellivision games (who wouldn't want to buy Night Stalker II or Super Pro Snafu, etc). They get a new game AND a sense of nostalgia. I understand there are potential legal issues with either of those plays but are they realistic as selling cartridges does not seem to conflict with the current Intellivision owner's game plan.

     

    They did propose a sequel to Night Stalker once. I believe the proposed title "Lady Stalker" wouldn't go over as well now as it would have in the 80's.

    I have issue with my Intellivision on my Sony LCD. Some times the picture "jumps".

    In space armada, the 1st few screens seem OK, but when I reach a level with a certain background color it starts jumping.

    Just like yourself, testing it on a CRT and it is fine.

     

    So the Intellivision must put out a signal modern tuners don't get along with.

     

    Same for you. Use an F-type instead of the box, and get a signal amp.

    My recommendations as the son of a TV repairman who picked up a lot of info over the years:

     

    Don't use the slider box. Pointless in this day and age. Get an RCA F-type to coax male adapter. Then, if need be, use a signal strengthener.

    My small one, I don't need it.

     

    If you use more than one coax for input, just get a manual switchbox and plug all sources into that and just press the button for the one you want to use. Wal-Mart and Radio Shack have them for under ten bucks. Those slide adapters are rather crappy, especially for modern HDTVs. The signal coming out of these old systems is already very weak, and the way those are designed weakens it even further. Old TV tuners were expecting to have to deal with aerials, and were designed for weak signals. Modern HDTVs don't expect anyone to be using aerials anymore, so don't have an internal amp.

     

    My brother had the 30hz flicker problem with his Inty as well, and the signal booster evened it out.

    Didn't get to listen in. Was wondering how it went? Other folks get to listen in? Availability of playing the previous show?

     

    I don't record the shows. it went pretty well, all things considered. Some things I need to iron out and set up macros for, but other than that pretty smooth.

    I might be up for this. Have a good sense of humor and a lousy microphone. You sure this isn't going to be an Intellivison podcast? :)

     

    Your bit can be. I don;t have "take live calls" lined up yet so you'd have to pre-record your segment. I will look into several options to take calls, it will probably end up as Skype. I can pretend you're reporting in live, if you'd like.
