    For anyone wanting to do the Atari 400 48K upgrade, I did it successfully and it's pretty easy. Works too. :-)

    Got desperate to play 2600 games. So I permanently soldered a plug to my 7800. Then I hot glued the horribly broken case back together. It looks horrible, but it plays... Pitfall anyone? ;-)

      Here's what happened. I got a 7800 not too long ago with an Atari 400. The unit was in really bad shape. I didn't have a plug to test it, so I cannibalized a Sega Genesis plug to see if it worked. The unit fired up, everything was OK. I decided that I should get a plug closer to the right amperage. I got a plug today at a thrift stora and permanently soldered it to the Atari 7800 board.

    Just scored a 7800 (bad case, mainboard works OK), Atari 400 computer, Tape Drive and about 30 games for 35 bucks.

      Looks like it's only 16K. Did the Basic command ?FRE(0). 13326/1024 is about 13K.
