  1. It's easy as parents to think in a narrow view that all the wrongs in the world are out to get your children. It's a natural instinct to protect your young ones, as there is some merit in keeping your child out of harms way. The danger here, is that Pam seems to be focusing her rage in the wrong direction. Why isn't she talking to her kid, to let him know that such games aren't good for 12 year olds to play? Why isn't she involved with the friend's parents to see the type of house they run? It's redundant to say, but these games aren't meant to be play by kids, just like 'R' rated movies aren't meant to be seen by the same kids. I can see their points being valid, if there were no "kid friendly" games, but the majority of games are in fact rated teen and under. An article I read a few days ago stated that 13% of games made were "M" or "AO" rated. These people need to start parenting and quit blaming others..
  2. Intellivision = Baseball Colecovision = Atlantis Vectrex = Mind Storm(only played 3 games so far)
  3. I'd be interested in the Vecflash on it's own if you don't mind separating the two.. though you might fetch more with the cart and the machine together..
  4. lol nice! can't say I've seen that before..
  5. It's a nice feature, which is helpful for me. When I have a chance I like to check out the blogs, specifically the game related ones, and from time to time I forget that they are there for weeks on end. But it's always a nice treat when I remember. This will keep me abreast of updated blogs.. and obviously if it's not a blog that I've taken a fancy to, I can just not click on it, just like undesirable posts that I don't click on..
  6. couldn't really find a decent arcade down there at the time The arcade version was much more enjoyed than the NES version - Try it in MAME, it'll give you a giggle or two.. One... two.... threeeeeeeeeee! ding ding ding
  7. If I'm sending anyone anything video game related, I make sure to stuff a handful of ziplock bags, perfectly sized for Atari carts in the box.. maybe the bags are just recirculating
  8. My favorite was(and still is) Tag Team Wrestling There was one cabinet at a 7-11 in Myrtle Beach, which I played way too many games during one fine spring break.. was right around the corner from the girl's house where I was staying.. Just can't describe the anxiety when one of the mad marauders would turn red - they would flip out and dash around the ring, if you couldn't contain them, you were pinned.. and another quarter was fed..
  9. I would recommend not selling your collection.. a) the hobby is littered with collectors who once sold them off and now regret doing so.. b) If you plan on having kids - there's nothing better than sharing your old games with them and watching the enjoyment they get I have plenty of basement room, if you like, I could store them for you, but the only rule is that I get to play with everything
  10. I think it's a fun game with a bitchin' sound track..
  11. I think that pretty much sums it all up, doesn't it?
  12. Yes, after playing this version of golf, (even though I'm no golfer) I'm curious to see those other versions. Atari has a miniature golf game that comes out in 1979 and another Golf game in 1980. I'm pretty sure Intellivision has one that includes selection of clubs, so I'm very curious to see that. I don't know what the Coleco or Emerson boxes have for golf, though. Hey, I notice you're in Philadelphia, PA. I grew up in Upper Darby. You anywhere near there? "Miniature Golf", albeit a fun game, is a lot different than "Golf" for the 2600, which seems very similar to what you described in this review, in graphics and game play - keep up the good work! My dad graduated from Upper Darby - I graduated from Marple Newtown and currently living in Chester County
  13. What if I declared a lesser value for an item, the item gets lost in transit and when I go make a claim because I took insurance, I'd be farked if I declared a value less than its worth, would I not?
  14. Sounds interesting, indeed.. Just haven't had much gaming time on the PSP - I know my kid has been looking for something to play since finishing Hot Shot Golf.. I'll recommend this one.. maybe dear old dad will get a chance to play some
  15. Funny how the 2600 Golf is very similar in graphics and game style (zooming into the green when the ball has reached it) - Yeah, granted there were a whole lot of limitations back then to making a game, and how many ways could you make a golf game, but the similarities are certainly noted..
  16. Exactly, I have a few thousand square feet at my disposal and have been thinking about at least throwing some sort of classic gaming event, be it a beer and gaming get together to a mini Philly Classic of sort..
  17. I can imagine Bentley Bear running around that pyramid right now.. lets get cracking on that technology!
  18. While I wait for your site there to load up the video try some of these..
  19. I'm interested, but waiting for my eyes to stop bleading so I can go back into that site and figure out the rating for which games I'd like. Also, I ditched my paypal account so would you be up for some old fashion bartering? Packaging supplies, by chance? I can always fire up another paypal account if need be..
  20. You knew it was coming, but it never hit me until last year when the new Halo2 maps were released 2 maps now, 2 maps in a few months and 2 more maps in the fall, all for free, like they promised OR you can get ALL the maps now, but you have to pay for each map after the first 2 free maps.. At that point I thought oh shit, batten down the hatches. Despite my kids' desperate pleas to get the new maps, even offering their own money, we stuck it out on principle.. I think the buy it now with cell phones are conditioning people to this.. It's all evolving this way.. I just hope there's some nasty backlash sometime down the road..
  21. I thought the bags Al sold through AA were the non-acidic, cart safe kind. That's what I use. I also don't keep manuals in the bags or with the games, I store them in seperate sheets - again, which I got from Al through AA. 1019990[/snapback] The only bags I see in the store are these which look like general polyethylene bags, which are better than the PAS bags the guy in the auction has. I think the guy is using a PAS bag to protect the eprom from static charges, which I'm not aware has ever damage cartridges. If you want my expert opinion, I think it's more of a gimmick that would do more harm to the cartridge than good. The premise of anti stat bags are to keep static charges away from electrical devices. Like I mentioned before, if that's your objective I'd go with a static shielding bag, which has layers of aluminum, polyester and coated polyethylene in between the layers of poly. Could be over kill I know, but for a grand, I guess you can't be too cautious.
  22. FYI - I would not recommend putting a valuable cartridge into a PAS (Pink Anti-Stat) polyethylene bag. They have a shelf life of about 6-9 months before the properties deteriorate. Also, some cheap film extruders use a pig fat(or sometimes vegetable fat) substance which can blossom out of the bag, making the bag "sticky", which could easily ruin the label or any manuals in contact with it. Use a static shielding bag, preferably ziplocked.. Yeah, it's a bit more expensive, but if you're looking to protect your investment, it's more than worth it..
  23. I second the moronacy, and would gladly be interested in the review guide..
  24. a pinball game with a "tilt" feature? one of those wooden box and marble games where you tilt the box and have the marble go through a maze? use it to swing a golf club? or a baseball bat? perfect for the PSP Mercury game..
