  1. Well with that in mind, why would the vp of sales for Nintendo mention something which would be pivotal to online play? It's got to have online play, right?
  2. I'm sure everyone has seen this from IGN and it looks like in fact we'll get to play NES/SNES and N64 games, but the beauty of all of this would be able to play online. Anyone have confirmation if online VS play will be supported with the Revolution?
  3. working in the same time frame as Pacman Exciting Soccer Pro Soccer
  4. I also have a one year old and obviously the short attention span, leaves very few video games since he's still learning the whole 'cause and effect' thing. Frogger on the GBA SP is indeed his favorite and used as a calming device when we're out or just in general for fun. He loves the music(will dance when prompted) and can move the frog around - ok most likely into traffic, but hey, he's enjoying it..
  5. It's all relative - If the "educational" game is replacing a "normal" game, well then you'd expect the kid to learn more, but if the "educational" game is replacing "good ole book learnin'" well then I'd have to agree that it could be distracting. Most games are educational in one respect or another - besides the eye-hand-coordination, you can learn about different cultures and technologies. Look at games like Civilization or Age of Empires. Those games are rich in knowledge AND game play..
  6. I'd say go ahead and invite - getting 5 more players from here might be a stretch..
  7. There was a PC game, a year or two ago, where you were a subway train operator. It was freeware and community driven. There were tracks all over the world with different types of trains. The view was first person, so all you basically saw were the controls and the outside of the window. It was pretty neatly done. The objectives were simply getting to the station on time and dropping of passengers and picking them up.. had a nice little charm to it.. I'll try to find it and post a link..
  8. I give I give! good game.. Monday sounds good - I'd prefer big battles with more people, but if there's no other interests, 1v1 would be fun all the same..
  9. lol I just noticed the battleships - nice.. I'm starting to feel like Japan in the ends of WWII I'll finish this game out, but shall we start another?
  10. About a year ago I cancelled my Paypal account and have not bought a thing from Ebay since then as well. Ok, so my intake of cool stuff has dropped and I'm still wandering aimlessly trying to stumble into a nice Vectrex, but I've grown cynical with the whole Ebay culture. As far as Paypal, it sucks, since I can't buy things from people off AA unless I send cash..
  11. And the funny thing is about RGR is that the only Nintendo stuff he gushes over is the modern stuff. The show is getting less and less "retro" and more why Sony and MS suck. It would be tolerable if he discussed NES games or even SNES games, but he doesn't.
  12. Yeah, I'm in trouble - us fighting in the south took a serious toll on my forces.. Not sure how I can turn it around now..
  13. Quick questions on income and funds if anyone knows.. Why would I not be getting all the income per turn added to my funds? Is there a super power which makes it less? Does parking a tank on a city to regain health, take funds away? This past turn I only had enough money to by anti-air, with my income being 24,000 Any ideas?
  14. I guess it depends on which team you play - If you get a slow nose guard, he gets blocked and held pretty good. But, yeah shooting the gaps between the center and guard is a good strategy I employ as well usually with the right end. It's more difficult when you play vs a good player since a quick pass can leave you behind the play..
  15. Right around 1980 a local independent pharmacy(of all places) began renting 2600 games for a buck. The old guy who ran it was quite innovative for his time. After school we'd race down the hill to see what he had to rent. It was awesome to get to play those games that we never owned but wanted. The place is still there and when ever I drive by, I get that warm and fuzzy feeling..
  16. Ah yes, the road trip to clear your head drive. Mine was from Columbia, SC to Los Angeles and then from LA up the coast to San Jose in a renta car. One of the best trips ever.. no time table.. some cash and the open road.. good luck man! Take a reliable car.. scribble down observations and thoughts along the way, no matter how trivial they seem..
  17. In an infinite bout of wisdom, Video Chess game # 8 is the easiest level.. game 7 is the hardest level, or at least the one that takes the longest to move.. give that one a try..
  18. Nice - thanks for the compilation, didn't know most of those existed.. will check them out.. I've been listening to Retro Gaming Radio for about a year now and yeah he's opinionated, but it's entertaining none the less. However as of late(last 3-4 shows) he's become quite the Nintendo trumpeter. I despise using this term, but a Ninetendo fan boy descibes him best now and the quality of the show suffers.
  19. Not sure the cash boost will be enough to hold the marauding highlanders.. Army "A" - I need to hold that army long enough to amass troops Army "B" - The amphibious assault must also be stopped.. My tanks are licking their wounds from the assault on Wales, generals are screaming for any type of support!
  20. Yeah, I think we're both smoked.. There's just no stopping the massive green army from the north. I was hoping that you would've stayed up there and at least delayed him a bit, but now we're both in trouble.. good game..
  21. Cool, glad Victory is getting down to DC - So, did he enjoy the beer? I like this variation off Hop Devil - gives it more of a kick, which is nice for this time of year
  22. One of my customers deals in casino related products and is getting into being a dealer for the machines themselves for Pennsylvania. He's off this week, but out of curiosity I have a call into him to find out the legalities. I doubt it would be illegal to have an official one for home use, but you never know. I'll reply to what he says..
