  1. I have my eyes set on Galaga, Donkey Kong and a few others. I'd love to pick up my first one here, but I'll be the first to admit that I can play the heck out of these, but just don't know much about the inner workings. Anyone know of a site that could give me the basics on what to look for when buying a used machine? Thank you.
  2. Hmm I'll try that next time I'm in there again. thank you
  3. This is exactly what happend to our system. The NES was slowly failing and it got to a point where very rarely could you get a game going, so I decided to take the thing apart. I bent the pins back into position, but when I put it back together, not only did I have leftover screws, but it only works when the game is in the up position!
  4. You need both controllers for Atari's "Riddle of the Sphinx"
  5. Yeah I agree with Dolt. As a casual Ebay buyer, I certainly read the feedback and search for all the negatives and then form a judgement. It doesn't matter if they have 1 or more than that, it all depends on what the problem was and how it was handled. You can learn a whole bunch about a person's character just by how they react to a negative. I certainly don't look for 100% positive sellers only. Keep in mind what the feedback tool is meant to be. Warn those who wish to buy from this seller of any problems good or bad. Also, what kidn of negative can the seller retaliate with? you paid quickly as a buyer, what else could you do wrong?
  6. I finally dragged the 2600 out after we bought our house about 10 years ago. T'was in storage since college.
  7. Well it's better than being called "TNN" which was "The National Network" which was before that was "The Nashville Network" aka country music and television .. which bit the big one! OTOH: Women have Oxygen network full of touchy feely programming. Who came up with that name? At least they didn't name the men's network IronTV or some other element .. At lease at SpikeTV I can catch Blind Date! Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA Spike has two of the best shows on television... The JOe Schmoe Show Most Extreme Elimination Challenege Both of which have not yet been picked up for a second season. Not quite sure you could do a Joe Shmoe Show again, because of the publicity, but then again I didn't think they could do another Joe Millionaire either. I agree, Joe Shmoe was certainly a unique and surprisingly addictive show.
  8. Apparently they've announced the winners already and it's certainly pretty bland. Do NOT click this link unless you want to see the winners before watching it on TV tonight I agree that if I click this link I will not hold maibock(or those associated with maibock, accountable for my actions. I realize that the following link that I'm clicking will lead me to the winners of this awards show.
  9. Donkey Kong Galaga Pac Man Although I'd probably take any combo listed so far
  10. All labels were good to excellent shape except for Chopper Command and Seaquest, which both have some black spots I'm happy with the buy
  11. Looks like they have quite a few NeoGeo games
  12. Ok I just got off the phone with the manager who's been there for 30 years(wow) The auction is 12/13 @9:00 am.. you can preview the games between 7 and 9 Unfortunately the state of affairs that we all know with arcades is coming true with these guys. They've decided not to renew their lease because of lack of business and the newer games are much more expensive and they get less of a return. He's emailing me the list of games and I'll post it as soon as it's received.
  13. whoa! Thanks for the heads-up! I'll do some searching to see if I can find some solid info
  14. I remember going to a department store and getting dropped off by the skeeball/pinball area while everyone else shopped. I was about 7-8 and played pinball most of the time, until this new machine appeared one day. Not sure what the B&W game was, but you were a plane and you dropped bombs on certain targets while trying to avoid blowing up buildings. I was hooked..
  15. wtf? it has pine needles, candy cane and perhaps an elf stuck to it?
  16. I think NE146 had a website which detailed this... or was it the Atari emulator?
  17. For shits and giggles, I've been thinking about doing 16-bit sports games reviews. I'll wait to see where this goes first before committing, if you don't mind.
  18. Or maybe.... a different location would have been nice! It's a lot of driving for one day for me to get to Philly for either of those shows. Nahh, Philly is perfect for these events
  19. I think it's a different show. But why oh why have the dates so close to each other? Would be cool to have one in the fall and one in the spring.
  20. So, what was the interesting information she had to tell?
