  1. . I couldn't find it on their webpage, but it's an adapter that you plug into the car's lighter power outlet and then the opposite end has a reguler house 3 pronged outlet. It's awesome for car trips since it's strong enough to power a Nomad, laptop and a small TV or anything else with not a lot of wattage. I think it was around $40-$50, well worth the money to keep the kids at bay on long trips.

Ok I found one similar, but more expensive. This one has 2 outlets and battery clips if you need them. You can plug it in the lighter or run it off a 12vbattery. They don't seem to have the single outlet one on their website.

  2. Yeah, I was going to mention Radio Shack as well, but I think what I bought was a different product. As far as rechargable battery power, the battery pack that came with my Nomad lasts about 2.5 - 3 hours. I was so lucky to get this with the Nomad I bought off ebay.

  3. Did I pay too much? I think I got a pretty good deal.

Any games that don't work with the Nomad?

Looks like you got a pretty good deal. I've seen them go for over hundred bucks. I wouldn't bother putting normal batteries in the power pack since they last only for a few hours. Try using rechargable ones or of course the a/c adapter.

As far as games go, I think pretty much all work(haven't tried one which hasn't). BUT there are some games, which you will find, play much better than others simply because of the smaller screen than what was intended. For the most part, I enjoy most games played on it.

  4. Finding all sorts of cool stuff. This morning I found a ton of old computer game manuals and buried with them was a complete Microsoft Flight Simulator copyrighted 1982-1984. It has maps, a thick binder of instructions and a San Francisco Bay Area scenery disk!! all on 5.25" floppy disks... haha

On the front of the box has "Taking Off on RGB Monitors" wooooo! RGB?! wow!

I vaguely remember playing this game. Anyone collect this stuff?

  5. Sounds like they are trying to cover their asses. They might not realize if they say the item was tested and working they would get more bids. I never bid on something if they say it is untested.

The obvious exception, at least for me, is if they're selling carts only and it's apparent that they don't have a system to test it. But I agree, if it's a system or the like, it should be tested.

  6. If nobody else is interested in this I am. I've been looking for a cheap woodgrain for the kids' room and I can use the Atari Jr. plugs and switches for this.

    but what does this mean?

if you decide to pay using a visa or mastcard through paypal add 4.00 to the total cost to cover the charges that option creates.

I've never seen that disclaimer before.

  7. Been cleaning out the basement all weekend, didn't have time to sort out what I needed. From the look of it, I think we can make a deal on some items. When I get home tonight, I'll try to put something together.

Just off the top of my head I can deal Jungle and Desert strike(cart only) and I need to check with the kids and see if the want to part with Streets of Rage and Gunstar Heroes(both are carts only)

  8. I am flipping out.  All my games are in the basement, and if the power goes out, so does the sump pump.

Dittoe. Same exact predicament here. Our basement gets water with a simple rain shower. We live in a valley near a creek. In fact, earlier this week, we had about 8 inches of rain. Luckily the power never went out (which it usually does). All the generaters are sold out, so I bought a marine battery and a bilge pump. So, hopefully if the power goes out for any length of time, we should be fine.

    Good Luck all!

  9. Allright.. who wants to Host the Gnomes after hours Barley Pop frolic?

four five gallon kegs of of tasty craft brew' date=' tasty eating fare and a nice relaxed atmosphere for kicking back with old and new freinds[/quote']

This sounds quite familiar to a line we head about PC4 there gnome

yep.. and this time I have advance warning, proper transport.. and actually intend to pull it off..

Hell i've allready requested that weekend off

A chance to throw some back with the great BeerGnome?! I'm in! In fact if we're in the new house by then, I can host!

  10. In a portable, I want relatively simple (controls and concept) and fun.  The GBA games are just like that.  I think it's a great portable, maybe the best there is right now.

I can certainly appreciate that, but it just struck me as odd when I played the Madden 2004 game and it was pretty much the same game as I was playing on the Nomad(with a headphone port! and it was backlit!) which is what about 8-9 years old?

  11. Both my kids have a GBA and I try to stay clear of them, since I'm thoroughly(and biasly) convinced that a Sega Nomad is a much better system than a GBA :ponder:

Regardless of my opinions, let me reflect upon what took place yesterday afternoon. My younger son, was over at a buddy's house for a few hours and came back with a borrowed game. It was Madden 2004 for the GBA. Being a fan of Madden and owning a boatload of Madden titles, I decided to try it out and I was quite surprised. It looked like an exact rip off of one of the earlier Madden games. I'm guessing Madden '95, but I really need to check each year to make sure. Only the rosters and the team logos seemed to be the only things updated. This is just amazing to me.

Are most of the GBA titles just ports of other console games?

  12. Baseball Stars is a pretty phenominal game even compared to some of the recent Genny games I aquired(10). Even though the graphics are a bit "campy" and there aren't any pro teams or players, the game play is just close the perfect for a basball game IMO.

and yeah Kepone, it's for the NES
