I can't decide which Atari 2600 I should get
Pioneer4x4 replied to Dittohead Servbot #24's topic in Atari 2600
B&W/Color switch is needed for some games including one of my favorites, Phasor Patrol! http://www.atariage.com/manual_page.html?SystemID=2600&SoftwareLabelID=353&maxPages=16¤tPage=9 -
Why do I see so many Star Ship carts with no end label?
Pioneer4x4 replied to nester's topic in Atari 2600
This is from your page. Mine appears to be the same as that, but the red square on mine is very pronounced. And by different, I mean, it is different from anyother Atari labels I have, both in appearance (no other ones that I have, have that red block in the center of the text fields, and on the end label. And it is more papery and metallic looking at the same time. I also attached my end label. My main label is in an earlier post. And for people that do print new labels. (Reproduction, restoration, recreation, fraud, humor, whatever...) How do you cut them out? I CANNOT get a nice rounded corner, no matter what I try. I made a joke label to show someone at work, and that is what ruined it. I wonder if one of those cricut things would work. https://www.getmycricut.com/index.asp?gclid=COHOroqtxaACFcN05QodLjMhZw -

About star ship again. Is it's label different than others? Mine sure seems so, and it is uniquely colored. -
How many Atari 2600 games do you have?

Very good summation. You seemed to cover it very well. I need to get as many commons as I can. I might hit you up on some. I really want to get as many with instructions as possible. I do not have any XonoX at all, and will probably just buy one off eBay. Which ones are the most fun, or best looking? I mainly like adventure/strategy/thinking games, not mind numbing "in the zone" games. I also plan on getting some just because of the coolness to me. Like nothing is as 1980s as Chuck Norris! -

I got it... I just couldn't resist a tapes comment on Atari carts, even if it didn't directly apply. I have a handfull of intellivision carts. It will be fun to compare! -

I agree, 200 is about tops for casual collecting without activly seeking things you don't have. I had maybe 110 back in the 90s all originally purchased by me or family (most at huge discount in late 1980s), then mainly via thrift shops I got to 200. -
I chuckled, "Making erotic games on the Atari 2600 was like building a fire truck by origami... " And he did like Centipede!

There seems to be something wrong here. My images aren't showing up for the 2 1986 main labels. Looks fine in Frontpage. I am at a total loss. I've erased the images from the site, recopied them. Everything looks good when I publish the page, but the 2 images still won't show up. I'm going to leave it broken for now. Phil Ok, it was something stupid that I still don't understand. It had to do with the JPG being lower case instead of upper case or vice versa. So I renamed the file and changed the capitalization as needed and now it works. So the tapes Dodge'Em is up. I also added the Ms. Pac-Man sticker box too. Phil Yeah, I think that is a unix thing that web servers get picky about! I've seen that affect stuff at work, and it is still not one of the things that I check instinctively. Glad to see all the "tapes" work! -

1st a question of duplicates. Do most people count Sears as seperate unique titles? And what about renames like concentration/hunt&score? Anyway, for the 2600 I have about 400 total carts (and cassettes), 230 unique 215 instructions 150 unique 11 boxes -

I was referring to Rom Hunter's post "BTW, I'm still looking for better scans of these (these Dodge'Em and Solaris versions are not on your list, btw):" And his Solaris was "PAL Needed" -
Is there a game you never really understood?

I've been meaning to ask the masses about Star Ship myself. Mine has a very thin paper label that does not seem up to par with typical Atari lables. And the color is different. It does have an intact end label but the quality does not appear great, and I can see how it might come off. -

So you can pretend this is PAL? -
OOPS, missed that! But it still isn't the true grail...

Looks great, Phil (although I'm not an Intellivision fan). BTW, I'm still looking for better scans of these (these Dodge'Em and Solaris versions are not on your list, btw): All PAL. Anyone? That PAL Solaris looks like my NTSC solaris. Where is the PAL one different? -
And the envelope please... Enduro - good use of shading, and constantly changing colors Starpath "The Official Frogger" - It makes the regular Frogger look like it is on a different system Harmony Menu - Best use of colored text

When I was young, my Grandpap had a TV with a "Clicker". This might have been 1970. It was just a single button that clicked loudly. Each click, the tv would tune to next channel 2-13. A motor would actually turn the dial. They also had what ended up being Cable TV, from I believe the first place to offer it, maybe in the world... (East of Pittsburgh, PA)

You know I meant 21st century users, you stinky-butt doo-doo head. HEY, I RESEMBLE THAT REMARK. Aren't we all 21st century users... And all using a 30+ year old video COMPUTER system! But with bBasic, and/or the harmony cart. It would be neat if you could use "Basic Programming" that would read the program from ROM. You could create the program externally, enter it into a rom, then play that bin on an emulator or harmony. So you could have in a way a method of saving your work, all 63 bytes of it.

I hooked mine up to the 9" portable color TV with built in DVD player that I used to use on trips. It just plain works. It is probably one of the last tube type dvd players.

If you meant me as the "he", I was referring to quadrun because someone posted that they had one, and I didn't realize it's value. I guess I got a bit off topic. I did get an idea for a game though!
