Looks like the pin right above the red wire should be correct.
I agree, according to http://pinouts.ws/s-video-pinout.html that is the only used pin not connected.

Yes I agree, it's not a missing feature... though would be cool to have a 4th or 5th game which will offer time counter or a score. Or just the very end reviel what game setting you had and a white flag appears, showing you did solve it. However you can run behind the challice and push it into the yellow castle to win and show that you did, with the challice glowing in the room. Though that doesn't prove what game setting you had it on. (Thinking along the lines of HSC) This game is not possible to outbeat anyone on.
If you play it on atari.com, you can enter your time.

I was just going through my collection of instructions, and noticed I had one for Sears "Breakaway IV", (Sounds like a faulty medical item
) I went to the AtariAge list to verify that it was Atari Breakout, and noticed that there is not a scan of that online. I can scan and photograph items I notice are missing that I might happen to have.Is there a submission guide?

As for obtaining dumps, can an adapter to a eprom burned be made? If so, I might be able to read all of mine.
It should be possible to make an adapter for your burner, but it would be hard (maybe impossible) to dump anything over 4K. What do you have? Perhaps I can help you

I figured on the 4K, no bankswitching thing. I have a Xeltek Superpro which is an older very versitle programmer, that unfortunatly uses a propriatary ISA card, and dos software, so I need to keep an old PC just for it!
A supported device list is at.

Rom Hunter, What does "Fixed" mean? Is it documented anywhere what was "Fixed"?

I'm using a JR, (or sometimes a 7800) mainly because you can disconnect the RF cable! I have it running behind my TV, and I roll it up and stick it behind it, leaving it connected. If I used a 4-6 switch, I would have to pull the TV out to disconnect it.
(Plus the space. A JR, 2 Wico's, set of paddles, and harmony all fit in a nice small box.)
-
I showed Harmony to my wife yesterday and was telling her how some are having a tough time reading the onscreen menu. For whatever reason, settings on the old 26" JVC TV, I don't know, but I find the menu text extremely easy to read. My wife had trouble, but she didn't have her glasses on and she should!
. This is on a stock unmodiffied 2600 (Vader model).Mine improved on my 27" tube TV, and it looked OK on my 50" Sony HD SXRD as is. I need to pull out a 4 switch instead of the JR and see how they look. I think the JR has a bad solder joint on the RF out.

Thank you all for adding your comments. I got my Stella CD from someone in Europe, I traded a Gremlins Cart, and something else... I don't remember, that was a LONG time ago.
When I first got the CD I REALLY liked what it all included and loved the ability to use a CD instead of tapes. I already had 2 superchargers back then and all of the original 10 games that I bought new in the 1980s. Now that I just got a Harmony cart, it makes the supercharger less useful.
Thank you very much for info on the numbering and phrase. I have never been able to confirm that it was official, even though I knew it was on it since I got it in the late 1990s, maybe 6 months after they were all sold.
A side note, I remember emailing Bob Colbert a bit back then about his supercharger hacks, and makewav and Stell-a-Sketch. I was the one that asked him to use the Indy 500 Controllers since that seemed to be fitting they way they work, and there was no other game to use them.
I also asked for the feature of makewav with the -b option for a project I wanted to do with making a Gameboy cart that would generate and play the sounds for a supercharger to read. I never followed through enough, but still believe it would have been cool using a Gameboy as a "File Server" for an Atari, but now with MP3 players, the idea is obsolete.
I really appreciate the work that went into the Stella CD's and it must have been an interesting experience to have been involved with all of the contacts, and manufacturing issues.
As for Polo is it still not %100 certain that it was Ralph Lauren related?
Thanks again for the comments and explanations!!!

i dug out a little electronic project i made back in the 80s
it is a rapid fire device but mine was dial adjustable for rate and the button on the device is the auto fire button the joystick just passed through

Cool!

That's quite the haul!
Congrats!
Thanks! I need to find a way to clean them and make sure no active mold is on them without ruining the labels any worse

Where did you get these?
The list of Craig!

I know there is a song with the mattel handheld football game sounds in it, but the name eluded me.
You are thinking of The Logical Song by Supertramp. I have always loved that part of the song.
THAT IS IT!!! It was on the tip of my tongue (or should I say ears?) Thanks, I just launched it now from my iTunes!
How appropriate, it starts off with "When I was young..." 1979, 9th - 10th grade. MAN I AM GETTING OLD.

I just got a box of carts plus a couple controllers for $50. I attached a picture of the lot, and am going through them now. I got a couple good ones, unfortunately many have bad to very bad labels. They were in an attic for 25 years. Some look VERY good, mainly some atari and sears ones.
This is a list of what I got that I did not already have.
Atari 7800 games:
Super Skateboarding
Kung-Fu Master
Food Fight
Crack'Ed,
2600 Games:
DragonFire
Gangster Alley
Miner 2049er Vol.II
Stargunner
Frostbite
SummerGames
Airlock
OuterSpace
StarRaiders
TheEarthDiesScreaming
StarTrek

Just try Right-clicking on Drivesort and select Run as Administrator...
** Edit ** Oops - missed where you tried that. Strange as I was able to use it on my pc with Vista loaded...
Yep, tried that. I guess I should clarify. It does run, but I get the access denied opening the drive letter. I haven't tried it since my last post. If I had them sorted in Windows and just copied the enitre folder structure at once, they went on in correct order. SO I haven't needed to mess with it yet.

Are the standings ever gong to be reset? Maybe every year, every season... With noobs like me to the site, it would be more interesting. Still keep an all time, but to have "This Winter's Champion!" or "Summer HSC 2010" added to you signature would be cool.
Yes, the point totals get reset every time a new season starts. We are now 25 weeks into the 7th season. I "joined" near the end of season 4 (around week 50-something). The seasons seem to vary in length. Below is how long each of the past seasons have run.
Season 1: 38 weeks
Season 2: 26 weeks
Season 3: 37 weeks
Season 4: 70 weeks
Season 5: 50 weeks
Season 6: 50 weeks
OK, great!
And I suck at Pac-Man, bummer...

I originally did not like the cycling, but only a little. I have since brightened up TV and increased the contrast, mainly for Phasor Patrol to see the shield effect correctly. Black is still black, and the mennu looks much better. I am starting to appreciate it more. The funny thing is I was playing last night, my wife was relaxing, and I was showing my daughter how to use it, and my wife asked "Why is everything moving?"
-
Hmm, I'll take another look and maybe brighten up the TV. Everything else looked great as I remembered. I hooked it up to my 27" in my bedroom, I didn't bother trying on the 2 HD's, and my 36" tube is pushing 200lbs, so I didn't feel like moving it! I hope that is all it is, just the TV or an adjustment on brightness or contrast. I thought it was maybe a pallette issue, and it grabbing the wrong color.I brightened up the tv and upped the contrast, and all is well, thanks!

I'm going through old treads, and saw this.
My biggest memory was back in the 80s when I got the Supercharger stuff, and seeing
"The Mindmaster has declared you to be awesome"
-
Because when he wants to move right or left, he doesn't want to accidentally go diagonal-up!That is my main complaint with WICO sticks.

I have the original Stella Gets a New Brain CD, and it included previously unreleased "Polo". Since that CD was a specific number of copies, and licensed/permission given to release it. So is it still considered "Prototype"?
I am interested in as much as I can find out about the original run of the CD. I have long lost the emails I had from the late 1990s. And back then I got most of my info from the R.G.V.C newsgroup.
Also My CD is numbered "010" with a paint pen. And has "Do what thou wilt..." on it also. I was wondering why it was numbered like that, and if being #010, if that meant anything value wise. I was extremely proud and excited to have obtained back then.

I wouldn't be surprised if the "Flying Particles" act like graphite. If the tape is uber clean, it would have more stiction.I'm sure zylon counts on it!
I'm actually surprised 8-track cartridges last at all, especially in an industrial environment, zylon. Considering that the entire tape grinds against itself on its reel when playing, add flying particulates and I'd think the tapes would meet a premature end.

I like this one a lot! It would be a great game for real.

That is the game, but there is no manual scan.
