big Article on Colecovision in RetroGamer Magazine
patbb replied to youki's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I subscribed like 1 month before that special price, I paid 130$ (80 UK pounds) -
Yeah I found this out just before I went to bed. Is this true all the time? I figured the game just bugged. I tried on 4 or 5 levels and it always worked.

That's good. If you can get to level 14 and wait the the veggies you will probably get around 120k. Speaking of veggies here's another tip ... If you take the veggie and still have a skull in the screen, wait until an enemy runs in it and the veggie will return.

I had to work real hard to beat your score! 120750

Thanks, I'll wait and see for a few days if anybody else has a better offer. If not, I will pick it up.

another game that could be on CV : Bagman
patbb replied to lucifershalo's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I don't see what you mean here. I don't what is not doable here. If I understand correctly, the slope is cut in two. So if you put a bag on the slope, it will travel or slide to the lower screen. Also, you wont see the guard arrived. Other problems are that you wont see the guards when they are on the other (lower or higher) screen. This is a problem especialy if you want to drop a bag from the top of the ladder. I think I will start from there. I've being watching Daniel's work for a couple of years and it's very impressive. Effectivement! -
Do you have any duplicates you can use to trade?

another game that could be on CV : Bagman
patbb replied to lucifershalo's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Well, it does look good, but it clearly doesn't work technically, especially the right-most portion with the slope that gets split over two screens in an arbitrary way. If I had time, I would do a proper mockup of BagMan on CV. But I have no time for this right now, so heh... I see, at first I thought that it was full screen but obviously the resolution of the coleco is not sufficient enough. I should have a look on how to program for the coleco. I being programming in C++ for 16 years, is that going to help me? or is it closer to machine language? Salut Retroillucid! -
I'm looking for the the cartridge only. The only copy I found on ebay are sealed boxes. I would take the box if you have it, but I don't want to pay 40$ just to have a box. It's for playing thanks.

Can wait, this is one of my favorite arcade game. The graphic look very good on the image posted by Retroillucid. Speaking of French, the main character speaks French in the game. Like when he put a moneybags in the wheelbarrow he says "a moi" (it's mine) or when he goes into the minecart "Ho hip --- et hop la" -
I use the Nostalgia 5. http://www.zophar.net/ivision/nostalgia.html The previous releases also work great. I had many problems running the other emulators under Windows XP.

Thanks for the tips! Are the side buttons or keypad used at all for this game (other than skill level and number of players)? No

I got over 100k ... on my 3rd game. It's the first time I play this game on the intellivision. I've being playing the colecovision version for years. Tips for beginners: Try to eat the hearts while they are blue and as soon as possible, this way you will have X5 the points. Always eat the letters yellow, when EXTRA will be spelled, you will have an extra life. After the fourth enemies goes out, a vegetable will appear in the center, this is worth a lot a points, the points increase at each level. In the arcade and Coleco version, you can also spell SPECIAL to get to a level with vegetables all over the place, this is why the letters turns to red.

Small improvement on my previous score.
