  1. ON: Downfall Falcon is an on-going project. More will be added, the bonus item issue will be resolved, all good stuff! TG: More likely to be a ct6x version than an STe one (I WISH!) Thanks to those who have played & tested this game, if you want more ST/Falcon games from Reboot, GGN is the man to shout at
  2. It's a good point and exactly why the existing version will always be available as it is now and those few people who took an ejagfest copy, along with those involved in producing the game, seem to have snagged themselves something of a rarity for the collection Of course, we'll make a 1.1 copy of the game available to them at no expense. I know exactly where you're coming from with the addictive qualities of gaining those extra lives... we don't want to break the fun aspects of the game by 'fixing' it too much! Just goes to show that no matter how much you test your game internally before release, once it's out there people are sure to try to exploit any weakness in the AI/scoring/etc. or just simply play the game the way they like & have fun with - a good advert for getting your stuff out there before making a release. It's a shame Sauron wasn't able to test the game to this extent during development as his skills in testing are there to be seen above but things came together quite quickly at the end. Once we're happy with a 1.1 version (which will also include different high score management and a feature of some of our older games that people loved) we'll have the CDs pressed and see if anyone wants to sell them on for us (I doubt we'll ever go back to managing our own releases again as it is too time consuming, taking away that time that should be spent making the next game, not printing/burning/boxing/sending).
  3. Thanks for that. It also reminded me that there was another update I've been meaning to make live for a while but it always slipped to the back of my mind. The ZIP now contains v1.1 which has a few more options, is a little bit smarter and a little less buggy
  4. It's there, keep hunting Good score, I know of one person who has bettered it, maybe he'll give us a screen shot now? And shhhhh! Nobody tell Xerus or Atardi about this one just yet!
  5. Having seen your best, I think we can add everyone else's up & you still win
  6. I've got a good pair of Fiskars you can have the borrow of, Gaz, get those corners rounded off in no time!
  7. Finally got the three skunk IIIs today: There they are, frolicking with their older siblings. Think I solved the mystery of the USB cables at least. Looks like some charge-only cables got mixed up with the data cables as all those received here were the type used for charging phones, ps3 pads etc., not for data transfer. So the cables received are not defective, just not the correct spec. of cable to make the GoodThings™ happen. So once I've charged my skunk, how long will it run before I have to plug the Jaguar back in? Sorry, daft joke, over the moon with my new goodies, thanks to everyone involved in making these!
  8. I thought you already were, lol Have ZeroSquare add you to the relevant jagware forum group, cheers!
  9. I can add to your floor plan (great idea, btw!) From linkovitch... LinkoVitch (Jaguar Sound Engine) GroovyBee (and his amazing 7800/XM/CC2/XEGS Keyboard setup) shthree (Reboot stuff) Robert Demming (pimped atari 8 ) Some guy called Matthias with lots of shiny That was one super-productive table of atari fans

  11. It's the Jaguar's 18th birthday today. To celebrate, Reboot of Jagware are pleased as punch to unveil The RAPTOR Engine. RAPTOR is a high performance RISC-based API designed to leverage the performance of the Jaguar's custom RISC chips in an easy and flexible manner. It also utilises LinkoVitch's new U-235 sound engine. It's not finished yet, there's much more functionality to add in future, but we believe this to be a huge step forward in bringing Jaguar game design within the reach of many more people. To give you an idea of the possibilities, our latest game, Kobayashi Maru, was implemented using an early version of RAPTOR. Head over to the RAPTOR page to learn more. Feedback is most welcome!
  12. Pound for pound the player stomps all over sinister, but it goes way beyond sinister in terms of clarity and quality of sound. When you've had sinister in something and cranked everything else to the max, then drop this in at the same frequency & find you have more to play with, well, that says all that needs to be said ... and it's not warez, so it beats sinister on that front, too!
  13. Decent score. The winner of the compo at ejagfest was Thorsten Günther with a score of 210,100, he won the big box copy of the game. CDi had a good go with 154,300. It was interesting to see people coming up with different ways to manage the bosses and how they played the game - some people preferred to mash the fire button instead of holding it down and one guy used his thumb on top of the Chaos Reins pad to spin it! made me think if there might be a better knob attachment for playing like that on a free-spinning rotary pad.
  14. lol - typo! that should read CDI not DCI reload the page, it's fixed
  15. Not really. The Jag is an easy system to mod for PAL/NTSC, they're the same machine. There's no region lockout stuff, iirc only 1 or 2 incompatibilities with CD software.
  16. I don't think anyone is really bothered about the cables. I'm sure most people have a dozen or more hanging around the house. The important thing is you brought us the skunk boards and without a single failed unit
  17. Ah those switches, I think they're just present on US machines, maybe something to do with RF so not a dev thing (oh and US machines have red LED, PAL have green). I'm sure you could come to some arrangement with gaz if he's interested in a trade, he's the kind of guy who has plenty of jag games hanging around, dunno if they are any use to him though.
  18. Magicom & flash carts, too - nice finds I picked up a lot of about 30 of those GB flash carts and tons of other dev stuff from 3DO's last employee in the UK when he wanted shut of it all, was a 100 mile round trip to pick up but well worth it! Without the Alpine the jaggy stuff isn't really so great, but at least you can get some use out of it if that's what you're after. If not you should try trading it away with gaztee, he's probably got one or two things you'd rather have in return I bet
  19. 1 vote for #1 Here's my ejagfest 2011 walkabout: http://youtu.be/rARXfcejmvo
  20. Seems like you have a stub jaguar (basically a stock Jaguar with a different bios & the cable dangling as you mentioned. The jag CD having wires coming out of it probably means it's a similar kind of dev spec piece. But what you should go look for now is what looks like a regular jaguar cart with a whacking great board sticking out of the top - this is the real dev part - an Alpine board. Your stub jag will play regular games I think, you just have to press or hold a button on the jag pad when you boot iirc. I'm sure someone will jump in & point out if I'm wrong Plenty of UK dev studios had the same kit you have (for instance I got Bullfrog's old hardware) and you can also pick up stuff like a stub Jag from Best Electronics in the states (something else I did many years ago). My stub jag only ever got used when I whipped out the bios & put a BJL rom in there instead, so it could be used for simple homebrew tasks. Otherwise I can't think they're much use without the Alpine unless you want to play some Jaguar games Not sure what your extra switches might be, possibly 50/60Hz switches or just something the dev guys needed at the time, that would be interesting to know. The Nintendo stuff sounds interesting. I used to collect dev stuff quite seriously, managed to snag lots of Nintendo hardware & paperwork myself. Lots of collectors will be interested in that. Your first visit should be to the Assembler forums if you're after trading the stuff away or just finding out more infoz. Anyway, nice find! Shows there's still stuff to be had off eBay in these big lots
  21. CDI on a mac has been a problem for people in the past. I know a lot of the NexGam guys are macdaddies & have talked about this before. Apparently there are some tools used by Dreamcast users for the mac that will do the trick, but not having one myself I wouldn;t know where to look. Maybe a google for dreamcast + cdi + burn image might reveal some secrets, worth a shot. Good luck! If you have any success let us know & I'll add it to the image burning page, cheers.
  22. MugUK has posted some photos to fb. I'll have some photos and a few videos later today but got to get the webpages ready for our Jaguar game release & Raptor info first and before I post the videos I'll have to edit them as there's a lot of 7800XM footage that's probably not for posting in public.
  23. I usually try to reset the jaguar by typing jcp -r into whatever irc window I'm hovering over... d'oh! yeah, like me not knowing that pause did
