  1. Whoa, you should put a warning or disclaimer on stuff like that, I was eating my tea!
  2. You mean you didn't go visit Mr. & Mrs. Kizza? Shame on you... Looks like you'll have to go buy a copy of the world's only Atari magazine to find out!
  3. Possibly The full game is available for download from Bethesda, I'm going to have to give it a play when I get a chance.

    Why CRY?

BS/G never really throws around all that many polygons at once from what I've seen. I'm not sure it is doing anything particularly taxing or performing special or 'secret' tricks with the Jaguar hardware. I'm not basing that on any technical understanding of the hardware or the game, only the fact that it appears to run in Virtual Jaguar when other games (ones that are seen as being average or poor games, both technically and gameplay-wise) do not. Maybe that's not the best way to judge these things, but from using emulators of many systems in the past, it's usually the special-case games that abuse the hardware that are the last ones to be supported.
  5. Maybe Bethesda will port Skyrim to the JagCD? Just as fucking likely to happen.
  6. One of my 3rd party scart cables likes to fall away from the jaguar with any passing light breeze and has a really crappy scart connector, that can leave me with no sound or missing colours.

    Got my jag :D

Trust gb to do a proper job and not a half-arsed one like me
  8. And you'll have something to show, perhaps? I read you've been busy with your Jaguar recently...
  9. Right that was the whispered date!! I'm in cuba for a couple of weeks now! I will provisionally book the minibus in the morning,so now looking for people who wanna ride the bogobus to Germany. Remember the more people we get the cheaper it is! /me raises hand! So are you free that weekend, Gaz?
  10. I like how you're not giving it away as it's only whispers... how about you whisper it to me so I can check my diary, too?
  11. But if PSW asked if this game was doable in a worthwhile manner, the answer would have been "no," and the question he actually wanted to ask would never have been answered. Your petty semantics add nothing to the discussion, if all posts were like yours nothing would ever be answered, there would just be a load of smug, self-satisfied pontificating...
  12. He's not a troll at all, guilty only of being over-enthusiastic when it comes to the Jaguar and probably lacking a meaningful understanding of the machine and its capabilities when it comes to these types of discussions. TBF, I'd rather someone like that post for honest, genuine and what they think are positive reasons (however pointless these what if/could the jaguar do/etc posts) than the try-hard shit-stirring earlier by Jag Slave. As for Chris' 'valid counter point', really it wasn't all that valid as he only considered memory requirements in his statement, probably one of the least relevant requirements considering the PC has a lot of other crap bloating that anyway. The big difference in the game he chose to prove his point would be 386SX vs 486DX2... if anyone remembers upgrading through that path they're sure to be aware of the huge gulf in performance there. Now look at RR on the Jaguar, not particularly stunning. So no, that proves nothing other than taking a 386sx PC game to the Jaguar has proved to be possible in the past but even then at a cost to game performance. The whole minimum-PC-requirements to prove X/Y/Z thing is obviously a bit iffy but is a quick way to gain an idea of what the original game entails and required at the time when originally created by a team of professionals. Of course, if you were attempting to recreate some old PC game again for the Jaguar, it'd be a ground-up remake not a port. The way you'd go about a lot of things would have to be very different... and you'd be wasting time doing something utterly boring, pointless and possibly illegal, but that's for another discussion. To be fair to CJ, in the case of System Shock, the minimum suggested PC requirements do give a quick impression of just why the Jaguar isn't really going to be a suitable platform for the game without making fairly drastic compromises and alterations. It's probably possible to make an approximation of the game for the jaguar. It'd be a much worse experience than the PC game that already exists. It'd probably take a small team a significant amount of time even as a day job. So then, the real problem with threads like this is they serve no purpose other than to cause people to disagree with each other over something that will never happen and probably not that many people even want to happen. So what's the fucking point? If you absolutely must have a thread like this, make it a poll with three options and no comments allowed: 1. YES 2. NO 3. PLEASE STOP MAKING THREADS LIKE THIS, THEY SUCK AND DO MORE HARM THAN GOOD!
  13. Ask them, it's a great way to lose customers! hehe, we don't actually think of people who buy our games as customers as we aim to break even and put any excess towards hardware that makes our work easier or hardware that makes our games have more possibilities (eg rotaries) or just stashed away for making carts in future. Our 'customers' are more like collectors and friends who support our efforts, despite what they might read about us in the gutter press With downfall there was a PayPal donate button - it was an experiment I suppose. People were so generous, I think more came in from that than was left over after we sold out of SFDX (Royal Mail hiking up their international prices shortly after we started selling didn't help!). So we feel we owe the Jaguar fans some more games and there are a number in progress right now along with some interesting developments that will ensure our release schedule will be hectic
  14. Now that's more like the wank you used to see in times gone by. When exactly did you graduate from the Proppahideen madrasah? Really, that kind of guff has no place on AA
  15. Bah, it's CJ, he's been called worse. I can assure you he took it well and it gave him a chance to go through his repertoire of prick jokes in our irc channels It's already been pointed out to me that in the Jaguar forum of old, such a comment would have been the start of World War III... but no, CJ +1s your comment & you say sorry...wtf?!
  16. Some info here, but but nothing you probably don't already know. There was a post a little while back saying someone got a version with an odd photocopy manual. There's also a post from a while back explaining differences in overlays.
  17. Wow. That answer makes you the official self-centered, egotistical... oh, hang on. Can you pop back tomorrow?
  18. You forgot these: Several million Borg nanoprobes in every cartridge. The more consoles you link, the bigger the BS Jaguar hive mind becomes, boldly taking the gaming experience where no game has gone before. Any added jaguar's individual distinctiveness will be added to their own.
  19. Easy fella, there's no big conspiracy Yea, he trickle-feeds from an unknown quantity of copies and does it infrequently. If people are daft enough to keep paying more & more for it, that's their decision, but it can't go on indefinitely as the desperate few who want it so badly decrease in number each year (even if it is only by one ).
