EDIT: FFS Schizophretard, lolol, I expect to be beaten by one minute posting on GAF, but not AA
glad I didn't post lyrics as well now heheoriginal post:Leaked ad concept:
How about "Fauxleco"?
Sounds like some kind of miracle hair(piece) growth formula.-

Coleco... name doesn't really resonate with me on any level. Maybe that's because I'm not from the US, I dunno.
Is it a triforce of failures?
Just today I saw a post where some kid was claiming that Sony doesn't have a reputation for making cutting edge breakthrough electronic devices. Holy hell, don't they teach anything in schools these days!!??
hah, I saw that, some people's views are more than a little clouded by their inner feels. Not something that could just be excused due to being too young to know better.

Hi everyone. Trying to round out my jaguar collection and wanted to figure out what's left in cart forms.
I know there's some home brews out there and other rare games, let me know what else there is that's not part of the standard release library.
Elansor, Alice's mom, impulse x, Jhl 15, another world, mad bodies, black out, battleshphere, air cars....more?
Your list is missing Orion's collection on cart and as CJ said, Downfall+. Rocketeer is not a release. There were carts made of other things like betas and stuff, probably through/via js2 forum. Can't think of anything else.

Pretty crazy reading one of your own posts from 11 years ago!
Oh wow that was an 11 year necrobump...

so how do you explain gazte's cartridge fronts and no backs then?
when you buy a cartridge you buy a front and back, not fronts only ???
Gaz was sent fronts only by mistake?
Semi-related: When I ordered a large number of cart shells from Telegames UK a good while ago, they imported them from the US (no idea where exactly). They were new ones, in original cartons, not pulls, but the guy told me there was a pricing error and the price he quoted was per piece of plastic, not the two halves (lolol) but said as a one-off he'd let it slide. Seemed utterly bizarre at the time, but now just one of those things that adds up to producing Jaguar carts being an utter pain in the arse from start to finish... no way were we ever going to pay 2x that price for a repeat order.

And guys, i am totally crying for the poor music composer (Fabrice Gillet) who got his music fucked up by the game music replay routine.
A fucking frequency shift occured!!!
Hey Mathieu, that's not even the worst of it - the poor guy never even got paid for his work! Not a penny. Other stuff later occurred that was just as annoying, but won't go into that here.
This is the worse thing that can happen to a game composer.
So i am really sad for him and could just cry if i meet him in person one day, really.
Careful, I spoke with Fabrice about AK and it was probably the last thing he wanted to talk about - still not a happy chappie at all, after all those years.

Raiden watch out!
Funniest thing I read on AA in weeks!
I hope this is the beginning of a long co-op between Reboot and Bitmap.
It's actually all CJ, not a Reboot thing.
But yeah, the Bitmaps had some really good games that would translate well to the Jaguar.

I think Rebooteroids with a black and red label, in a red translucent cart shell, would surpass BSG as the coolest looking Jag game. Just saying.
I asked Mike about a bulk order for cart shells. While there was a discount for bulk buying, the cost to meet a large run of a game was not something that looked doable or sensible... to the point where, if it looked like more releases might happen it'd be cheaper to have our own custom mould made and produce our own plastics (which is still a stupid amount of money and not going to happen either).

Would these be missing the back like the clear ones or will they be identical to the original shell?
As I recall, the back is missing because these are the molds for the dental device that didn't have the back/rear piece, leaving the case open at the rear.
That's how it'll be, the molds are modified now and that's what they produce.

Found a letter from us (Damien Jones and I) to Atari when things were going south on the Jaguar front. It was really painful to write. This is just prior to us joining ICD.
(Of course, they never did reply, and we never did return the development system)
Thanks for sharing that.

http://www.gamesradar.com/worst-games-all-time/
It made the top 10, won't spoil the exact position.
X. Club DriveWe could make a perfect case for why Club Drive is so bad just by saying that it was an Atari Jaguar exclusive. However, while most of the Jaguar’s lineup didn’t satisfy the dozens of people that bought it, Club Drive is in a league all its own. Most of the other Jaguar games are ugly or have bad controls; Club Drive has both and then some.
The game is near unplayable; it’s a feat to keep your car going in a straight line without running into the background’s really awful polygonal environments. Take that screenshot above for example; the orange blob there is supposed to be a cat that lives in the giant house you’re driving through. That doesn’t look like any tabby cat I’ve ever seen. We’d rather go on a Sunday drive through the Sahara with no AC then cruise around Club Drive.

This is looking very nice!
At this moment I would say, spice up the atmosphere with darker areas etc.
Agreed. After playing it again in the last few days it all felt a bit too plain and samey.

This all seems to go full circle back to my cardinal rules! Oh, wait. We're talking about framerates. Nevermind

-It seems petty because you're demanding an unrealistic-and-unnecessary burden-of-proof when his test is clearly in a very, very early stage and likely even unoptimized. Believe the video as accurate, or don't believe it. Either way it's not hurting you at all. If you think VladR is braggadocios, or just a jerk, then put him on ignore.
I think it's reasonable that if you make a claim, you present your results accurately, otherwise it is misleading. He's been spouting his 60fps texture mapping claims in the interwebs backwaters for a year or more. Given what he's offered now, that's kind of...

-VladR had no idea what my PC specs were until I told you. He only sent me the files because I asked him straight-up in private if he was -- as CJ wrote -- "trolling" me.
Your PC specs make no difference at all - your machine can either run VJ at full speed or not. In your case, it appeared to struggle with the first video you posted. I was only interested in your PC specs as VJ itself seemed to struggle to report 60fps, which given my old gaming laptop that has run 8 instances of VJ at 60fps, it seemed like you might be running it on an only desktop calculator or something and therefore we'd have been presented with something even less useful than offered.
And FFS - seeing "60 fps" in the VJ window, DOES NOT mean the software is running in a frame, jesus.
This is why emulation is worthless when showing off your greatness:
VJ is not cycle accurate.
It's a really valuable and probably my favourite Jaguar tool available, but it is not something ratified by ANSI able to produce a 1:1 experience with the real thing.
It's like a Jaguar on whizz, coked up the the eyeballs holding a can of red bull in each hand. Yet sometimes, if you do devious stuff with the DSP, you can even make it run slower!
There's a reason why the special one prefers his stuff to be shown off in VJ as opposed to capturing actual hardware output.
But whatever, let people lap it up, imagine the great games you'll all be playing a few weeks from now, *thumps up*
-I don't have "fast blitter" turned on in VJ, even though the PoC runs even better and pretty solidly at 60FPS.

Here's your 60FPS, 720p video in the best way I could figure out how to do it.
Thanks for that. Here's some very basic info on emulation:
http://emulation-general.wikia.com/wiki/Emulation_Accuracy
See specifically "cycle accurate" and imagine the implications of an emulator that offers you a Jaguar Atari themselves could never have dreamed of producing due to its raw power.
If you don't want to imagine/pleasantly discuss the potential of the Jaguar, then why are you here?
Because it's cool to hang out with stupid old ginger men who lurk the interwebs pretending to be teenage girls... well, I can't speak for everyone, but still.
than caring about attempts at pushing Jag hardware
Surely you mean pushing Jag emulation? Amirite?
tl;dr Keep drinking the Kool Aid kids. Fill yer boots. Drop a few sugar bombs in there. #BELIEVE

Are you this petty all the time, or just in this thread?
I don't see it as being petty. The difference between Virtual Jaguar output vs Jaguar hardware can be quite drastic, there's more than enough reason to insist on doing things in a meaningful manner, especially when someone is shining the spot-light down on themselves and making lofty claims. When it's simply a matter of taking advantage of the setups many users here have, even more so. You have a gaming-spec PC running VJ - as much as your video does show regarding what he created in one weekend (a mere 16 hours!), from a technical perspective, the video has no merit. That he chose yourself to produce this vs 4+ other users who could capture the RGB output from hardware is telling IMO.
If you would like an example of this phenomena, take a look at my Checkered Flag emulation video and compare it to actual hardware. that's the kind of gulf that can exist between the two, but not nearly the limit of it.
This kind of mistake would easily be forgiven if it was a matter of him being unaware of the differences and lack of worthwhile data to be obtained, but it's at least the third instance of this very same outcome. And at this point there is only one sensible conclusion to be drawn.
I only replied to you directly, didn't I? That was my intention or at least that's the way I thought I left it. Did you take my post as an attack on your good self? No, I totally understood your motives and even walked a similar path in the past - offering services to the guy and attempting to give him the benefit of the doubt - in order to force his hand a little... only to receive the usual outcome. My words were regarding the special one himself and the super special permission he gave you to record the video under emulation. And, you couldn't even reply to me directly after baiting me for information (which I freely gave)?
If you wish to see examples of petty or worse - look no further than the 4-letter-word tirade he spouted at me for merely suggesting we obtain some meaningful Jaguar hardware output. Look to the constant puerile use of "haters club" and "sub-8-bit" mincing he constantly trots out... that's petty.
One thing is for sure, sh3-rg, you use some fun gifs, hehe.
f

Actually, that was my thought too. Anything you can do to make it flicker less and not have so much ghosting/tearing/whatever.
Clear the screen? Double buffering? Clipping?
I imagine all those will come free and won't slow anything down at all /s
The videos, as has been repeatedly discussed, are worthless.
This is the only real issue here and the one I have posted regarding in this and other threads he is involved in - their only worth is to seek to deceive those who know no better and further bolster his claims of leetness vs lol-8-bit lamers he sees all around him.
I don't care if he delivers the world at this point, as has been previously posted by another - he'll still be a complete prick.
While that sentiment isn't lost on me, maybe given [REDACTED]your general xunty disposition (lolol), maybe it's best to just stay the heck away from interacting with this joker as you're both fueling his fire and risking your own well being. It might be keyboard warrior fun and games to him but the repercussions for yourself are not worth the risk. At. All.
In fact I'll do the same, wash my hands of this sorry mess...
Let him promise the earth, make his excuses and fade back into obscurity in the best traditions of Jaguar vapourware peddlers of days gone by.
That way, the only people who get hurt are the genuine fans, and maybe the only way they will learn these lessons is in fact the hard way.
I don't care for attention at all

This. Peolpe wanted him to show anything, at least a screenshot, he uploaded the pics, and people were saying they might be mockups. Now he releases a video, and people ask "why"?
Not this. People didn't necessarily want anything at all. What they did not want was more of the same meaningless emulator "proof".
What people want anyone (not just him) to show, is something that can be viewed and assessed in some kind of meaningful context. The why is not "lol, why did you even do this?", the why is "why am I watching this video of a routine under emulation, on what we now know is a beefy i7 PC that seems to be struggling" when that situation is entirely avoidable.
Pointless.
Do you think there might possibly be a reason for his over-reactive meltdown, laden with all the effs and hate and whatnot, the one that had to be deleted but remains preserved as quoted. The one that came in response when I pointed out that at least 4 users here have the ability to capture frame-by-frame accurate RGB Jaguar hardware output that would be unequivocal in the evidence provided vs any claims made?
Ask yourself this - why would that be? What would anyone possibly have against that?
Maybe because it wouldn't suit his narrative as it'd shoot down his hyperbolic self-promotion on the spot when the actual results on hardware expose the reality of the situation?
Given his history, you don't even see this as a possibility?
At this point it's little more than a troll, designed to mislead the technically-bereft gamer into believing black is white.
And people are saying this proves nothing, that they dont know how this could become a game... he did this on just a weekend
You make vague claims but offer no specific examples. Who said that? From a technical perspective, it proves nothing, it only prompts further questions - and this suits his tried and tested modus operandi. As for all done on a weekend - believe what you will - he's been championing his texture mapping routines for the best part of the year, the claims of them running at 60fps are nothing new to this or any other AA thread. That he has taken it upon himself to appear here, restate them and proceed to follow the same well-worn path of not-Hero and not-Klax, which barely even raised an eyebrow to those who know better, just sighs and a collective shaking of heads. But then we're not his intended audience. That would be the likes of yourself who do not know better are therefore easy prey.
so far its a proof of concept, as he calls it. Hes said he is also curious were this goes, and if at the end it just wont work, hes gonna stop working on it... and if thats the case, at least he gave it a shot, right?
But why the same old song and dance? Most people don't require the spotlight to be on them before working on a few routines, they just get their head down and crack on then present something when its ready with no obfustication or smoke and mirrors.
A history of no game output.
A history of riling up trouble.
A history of claiming to be able to do x in y weekends.
None of this seems at all familiar to you?
He will do what he always does - emoragequit in as loud and obnoxious manner as possible, point fingers on the way out and spend the next 12 months slagging off AA and all who sail in her.
Vladr be like:

LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! DON'T LOOK AT HIM! LOOK AT ME! WOO WOO I'M THE BEST LOOK AT ME!
...without even an inkling as to how ridiculous it looks... as the rest look on knowingly.

Tea. Earl Grey. Scalding...

Win10's video capture gave me some grief this AM (it either wouldn't capture the sprites, or would do it all in low-resolution). I think this version got it correctly. Like Vlad mentioned, there's screen flicker. Also related issues with ghosting until the screen refreshes.
Each building texture is 64x128. Recorded in VJ "x1" mode:
Did that capture correctly? Does win10 support 60fps capture at all, that video appears to be a standard 480P 30fps yt video - no options for 60. It seemed to pull VJ down to into the 50s then 40s at regular intervals - what spec is your PC? Not that it would offer anything more meaningful, but if it's a 7 or 8 year old laptop maybe that's the issue?

As is, that video only raises questions. It unfortunately offers nothing meaningful to gauge what it really is and therefore prove/disprove any of the claims previously made. Dragging VJ into the 40s on an unknown spec PC, drawing to the screen without clearing it except once about every 60 frames and then having the sprite flicker and the screen tear, no z-sorting, weird clipping/distortion... just left thinking wtf am I even watching and more importantly why?
ps, PWW, are you Carl's bro? :0)
You gotta admit my 'bathroom frame' version was fresh and unexpected, but funny nonetheless. Poor shr-3rg

yeah... about that...
I am quite an asshole.

Aww,did not want to spoil it but good wtf moment.

Now the only good plan of attack is to replace assets with those, make up a cart and plant it in a charity shop for someone to discover a rare beta test version :0)

I personally thought the label looked too glossy and the cart the wrong colour (black vs the later grey) but I'm no expert.

You're a fucking idiot
And you're straight up interwebs gangster:

Wow what an awful version. I once saw Supertramp live, without a doubt, one of the most boring bands I've encountered. Sleeping was more exiting.
But when we sleep, we can dream. And when we dream, the POWA flows freely...
