  1. Is that the version of kevtris' hardware that only plays DDR clones?
  2. 74" = 6'2" Therefore, the door frame was indeed a standard 80" bathroom door frame. I feel cheated.
  3. Would make an interesting cosplay. Big guy carrying around an over-sized bathroom door frame. It could catch on.
  4. Never has a dowant.jpg been more appropriate: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/242792-random-prge-preparation-photos/page-5?do=findComment&comment=3341492
  5. GGN's solution is a bit better as it's more flexible, but also means you have to define the full set of possibilities.
  6. Nothing to do with me as CJ's ST stuff is his own thing, but I personally wouldn't let the actions of the greedy and the stupid dictate how I went about doing the things I enjoy doing. As long as people know what's up and who has been stepping over the line at the expense of practically every Jaguar dev active today, at least they can make an informed decision when it comes to spending their money, especially if it involves sending $200+ of hardware around the country/world. I can't post what else was discovered in public, because it's not directly related, not really appropriate and, well, drama... but to anyone who was suggesting this was all some kind of ruse (and there were one or two of the usual suspect who aren't allowed to play around here anymore saying just that from the safety of facebook and twitter)... nope, the iffy side of questionable is putting it mildly.
  7. Good on you OMF for working on that and posting the binary.
  8. I heard of a guy who kept his jaguar CD unit in the freezer. Swore blind it made the laser work better with CD-Rs. Forgot to take his meds one morning and ended up stuffing it with garlic and herbs, roasting it for 4 hours at 220 degrees, middle shelf, turning occasionally until golden brown and tender on the inside. True story.

  10. hella big picture. dat door seven feet tall, yo.
  11. snip. A more interesting comparison is probably the hardware platforms, what they offered and how the systems were set up for devs to go and create. Jaguar = Superpowered MegaDrive/Genesis. 3DO = Underpowered PlayStation precursor. They might have dropped at similar times, but one had it's feet firmly in the past and the other a toe in the future. Jaguar was just 2 years+ LTTP. By the time it finally arrived, the way games were being made was already changing.
  12. You are dead right of course - it's technically correct to call JagCF vapourware. "Something that is announced, never manufactured or officially cancelled". I suppose that fits the bill. Often, though, there are negative connotations with the word and in this case that wouldn't be fair (not saying this is how you used it, only that it is often used and reads back that way). Some shadier outfits use vapourware as a tactic to piss off others, usually competitors, to keep potential customers dangling. That's probably why some people object to the use of the word, because it can mean different things. JagCF was a bit of a stepping stone. From what I gathered, the person/people behind it just didn't like the opposition from certain quarters, the piracy/pitchforks kids and all their rabble rousing, FUD and clever spoiling tactics such as buying the domain name and pointing it to jaguar sector II etc... really putting the ARSE in jaguARSEctor as it were. There's no need for us to be poking and prodding each other over semantics though, we should have tougher skin than that, and you meant no harm in the way you used the word, Gunstar. JagCF never came about, Vapourware it technically is, yet it could have quite easily made it out given a more pleasant, trusting and, frankly, less blinkered reception. But things were very different back then. While I'm here, I'll point out it wasn't demoed at ejagfest, but it was shown at multiple RGC events (these are easily confused if you've never been to them but have seen what goes on there - both have been equally important to a passionate and hyper-productive Euro Jaguar scene down the years). JagCF Vs1, 2 and 3 can be seen on SCPCD's site. It then made way for even more interesting things, the kinds of stuff certain individuals would talk and talk about doing but never lifted a finger to make happen, unlike SCPCD. So mad props to that guy, the creator of Jagtopus, JagCF and all kinds of awesome tech that is ensuring Jaguar has a future beyond what Atari shoved out back in '93 and will likely keep me sat fiddling around making stuff for the rest of my years, even if it's only to an audience on me, myself and I
  13. I'd buy Checkered Flag 3! If there was MindLink interface, I'd buy that too! XD Love to see an even MOAR improved version with hover cars, thought controls, some sort of online play and cloud saves... Would be great xD
  14. Repairing broken JagCDs and dishing out the warez. That's no contribution - that's taking money for doing a job and fucking over other people to fill his pockets while he's at it. If you see what he does as any way up there with people making games that's a twisted view of what's going on.
  15. Someone posted in the epic RVGS thread that these are still available at the same prices through the Retro mag site: console: http://shopreadretro.com/collections/merch/products/jaguar-translucent-console-shell-and-accessories?variant=3875615044 cart: http://shopreadretro.com/collections/merch/products/atari-jaguar-translucent-cartridge-shell?variant=3854094660
  16. I know you have a fairly harsh stance on DLC, Mord :0) But I dunno about the DLC being stripped-down content that should have been in game to begin with. The games seem to get bigger and more involved each time with a few nice little measures to lessen the pain of the grins, mostly adding a few things and changing up a few others. I think I only ever bought in to the Disgaea 3 DLC, and it mostly seemed to be fairly trivial fan service stuff and from what I remember, nothing substantial. And wasn't it all included with the handheld version later? Thinking about it, that could have been a game where the EU didn't get all DLC, but I'd imported the US game and could use my US account to buy the lot in a bundle.
  17. Again, who cares about the freely-released stuff? That guy listed Matthis', Orion's, Our and other paid-for releases in his warez library. Fuck that.
  18. He's a fucking crackerhead, that's why. It might be a joking matter to you, but it's important to some of us. If you have nothing constructive to add, why not just STFU and go read the Checkered Flag thread or something.
  19. Don't you just love messy old threads rising from the grave? Maybe it's QSound stuff, you could try looking here: ftp://ftp.untergrund.net/users/ggn/JagFiles/code/audio/
  20. Maybe. It's probably much simpler that that, though. The kinds of people who sit around on forums talking about this stuff and filling those carefully ordered shelves with precisely catergorised boxes aren't usually those best qualified to be stating what any particular game is or is not. Leave them to their incisive discussion and don't waste your time with it. Speaking of wasting time... tl;dr: fuck'em
  21. That's not what he wants to manage. On death, these objects are frozen - he wants to remove them one by one and make a show of it from bottom to top and they will not necessarily be in any original order such as the order they appear in the list.
  22. If Konami CBA making games for systems with 20 million+ users, why would they go anywhere near RVGS? They've fucked the bed and are only interested in tugging the titties of their IP in any way possible that requires little to no effort - which is no doubt how Mike got through their door. No matter what went down with the meeting between him and the retro gaming fan Konami exec., nothing was and nothing will ever come of that. Don't delude yourself. Maybe if RVGS has a coin slot and a guy can come and empty it every week, that might work...
  23. OK I know what game you are making and what you want to achieve. If I were doing it I'd simply cycle through all active objects of this type reading the y values, make the largest one inactive, do the assplosion and repeat for as many active objects of that type there are. There's no need to grab and sort the y values, just zap the biggest one every iteration.
