  1. hey,

what do you think will be the value of a complete collection of intellivision games (complete in box). remember that there is 123 games.

You're probably looking at a few thousand dollars if you're just talking about the original games released for the system (actually there were 125 games relelased). Spiker is obviously the most expensive, you'll probably end up spending $1000 boxed for this game alone.

If you want a really complete set, I would also add in the homebrews since there are so few made (less than 10 with variants) and they were made complete (box, manual, overlays).

If you're interested in knowing what they are:

    Stonix - IntelligentVision

    Mine Hunter - IntelligentVision

Same Game & Robots - IntelligentVision

4-Tris - IntelligentVision, Philly Classic, Left Turn Only

Space Patrol - Left Turn Only

League of Light and Robot Rubble were also put to cart and released complete as Activision carts but they were never "officially" released by Activision and I won't say who made them icon_smile.gif

All of these games have sold out already so finding them can be difficult and costly (I recently saw League of Light sell for $500 if my memory serves me). I know there's a Stonix on eBay right now with a starting price of $150 I believe.

I think most serious Intellivision collectors would also consider having the Orphan Overlays collection. They are perfectly made aand in the style of the games. Again, these are also sold out and can be hard to find.

Lastly, there are other peripherals that are great to add into the collection. Demo carts, Intellicart, CC3, MTE 201 Test carts.

All of those will cost you at least 100-150 bucks each....most likey much more.

Hope this helps a little icon_mrgreen.gif

+1 for a great answer by the way.icon_smile.gif

  3. Hi Pixelboy icon_smile.gif

Some "news" around CV Gulkave ?.

Pixelboy has come to my house last Tuesday. I give him all boxes for his next releases

He should post something about very soon

The boxes which I picked up at retroillucid's place have been handed over to a company in my city which will cut and crease them. However, since the boxes have no bleed space and are of a very precise design, they told me it was going to be difficult to make cuts and crease lines which are precise enough, so I'm very, very worried. If they botch up the job, I'm not sure what I'll do.

I'll be stuck in a red alert situation at my job until the middle of next week, and I'll have to do overtime Saturday and perhaps even Sunday, so my Team Pixelboy projects are completely off my priority list until further notice. I just don't want to deal with that stuff right now.

    Thanks for understanding.

Yikes! I hope both the job situation and the box cutting/creasing problems end well for you Luc.

    Cheers.

  4. i am on the prowl for a boxed colecovision right now,any one have one?

Rev, I think Yurkie's AV modded one comes with a box and inserts. Check it out. I bought two CV's with modded controllers from him and they both work fantastic.

he did pm me about the mod,i will pm him back again and see what he has!

Did you order your Steamroller yet? I went and pulled mine out yesterday and played for a while, it is a fun game.

  5. By the way, talking about those other sites of homebrewers reminded me

that the IntellivisionLives guys are the ones that have the finished Masters of the Universe game for Colecovision.

I talked to them and they said they have tried multiple times to get Mattel to give them the rights to redistribute it but Mattel says they are thinking of reintroducing He-Man and feel that these classic games would look poorly on them being of poor quality to today's standards.

I think we need to organize some kind of campaign to get Mattel to forget about this ridiculous stance.

Even if for some stupid reason it was a true, who is ever going to see these old games except collectors who would love them.

    Dan

Their logic kills me. They're worried about how a "new" classic game would reflect badly on their He-Man product?? What about the version that's already out??? Are consumers not smart enough to recognize it for what it is? (Wait, don't answer that.icon_smile.gif )

Especially since, as you point out, the only people that are going to see it are CV enthusiasts who would be pumped to see it released after all these years. I get the issue of protecting your brand, but come on. That's it, I'm going to stop buying my son Barbies!!! Errr, I mean some other toy that Mattel still makes that is for 5 yr old boys.icon_mrgreen.gif

  6. i already have a boxed one...but i would bid anyway.my box is a 7 out of 10

Mine is loose with instructions, one of 7 I don't have boxed, including Super Series Baseball. I could kick myself looking back at what I could have bought CIB 5-10 years ago but didn't feel like paying those prices.icon_mad.gif

I know I could have got Spiker and Stadium less than $200.icon_frown.gif

  7. How much does it go for loose? Nobody even bid on this one.

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 3703549234241?ff3=2&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&item=370354923424&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]

My only guess is that anyone wanting to own this game, which is supposedly a "holy grail" would only want it complete. Probably why it only has 46 views. Also high starting prices never help any auction.

you should cancel your intellivision auction and list the sealed congo bongo separate!!!!!

i bet it would go pretty high

That I would bid on as mine is loose. I might just bid on the lot anyways cause there's some great stuff in it, but my focus is that Congo Bongo...icon_wink.gif

    question:

you are false advertising and i might report you to ebgay.these are not for atari.they are ALL for the intellivision system.these are not for atari.now change your auction, please

I just sent her one as well, as with a Wikipedia article in case she still doubts the information icon_smile.gif

icon_rolling.gif icon_rolling.gif icon_rolling.gif Ouch!!! Nice beat down she's taking...she's gonna be wondering what the hell she did to piss off all these people!!icon_laughingblue.gif

  10. Hey Rev, I'd definitely get it. Also get yourself signed up for Opcode's newsletter, as well as Retroillucid and Team Pixelboy's websites for more homebrew goodness.

Lots of new games for CV in 2010. Do you have a functioning CV? If not look at Yurkie's offer for refurbished and AV modded CV's and his upgraded controllers as well.

The controllers make a lot of difference.

    Cheers.

  11. Looks like the six games are Astrosmash, Skiing, Night Stalker, Chip Shot, Thin Ice and Thunder Castle.icon_shades.gif

Cool mix of games with a couple of surprises....

Also looks like the iphone and itouch versions should be approved in the next few days...I'll be buying these.

iphone version now approved, astrosmash free, other 5 games .99 each(although apparently not yet available on itunes Canada as I just checked) iPad version however was there

  12. wow, nice collection,i am still debating to collect colecovision carts or boxed games.

Hey Rev, I'd say it's harder than INTV to collect CIB. That said a lot of the core games can be found CIB, just not as many as INTV. Let's be honest though, you know you're gonna end up trying to do CIB.icon_mrgreen.gif

As an added bonus, much better homebrew activity with CV, and better restored and modded systems are available. Maybe you could sell/trade a bunch of your extra INTV pile to get that CIB collection going.icon_wink.gif

  13. I love the work in progress Donkey Kong for Intellivision. Kicks the crap out of Colecovision's version.

Would love to see that completed and made as a cartridge. Who did this programming?

Great job if you are reading this.

    Gene

What work in progress Donkey Kong are you talking about? Ive heard nothing of it. Post a link if you can! icon_mrgreen.gif

The WIP Donkey Kong I am talking about was included on the CC3 add on I got from Beeslife.com David Harley.

It is impressive. I tried to do a movie of it using nostalgia, but couldn't figure it out.

I set up a directory, press F8, it says it is capturing, but no output file anywhere to be found icon_sad.gif

I don't know if David is on this board? But if you are, can you post a movie and give any info you have on DK?

The game seems very close to complete.

    Problems I have found are:

It plays 2 player mode with no visible way to play 1 player?

Some barrel jumps are not detected for scoring.

I hit a barrel on the girder above the one I was on. Just once though. ( I used to collect extra point on Colecovision by jumping into the barrel above )

Oh, I'd like to see the animation of Donkey Kong falling when the last rivet is cleared.

The springs are in the elevator screen!

graphics are very good. including the How High Can You Go screen.

    Mario dieing animation is included.

    etc.

This is about 200% more faithful to the arcade version than the clowns at coleco did for the Intellivision version.

    Gene

Ironically, David Harley of Beeslife.com is currently helping Eduardo of Opcode games with his website. Eduardo is currently working on what I think might be the best DK we'll see on the classic gaming systems.

  14. I know a few people are collecting the sears intv box variation.

In the large lot of intv games i just won, there were a few variations.like swords and serpents international edition, buzz bombers dark green box,a second style of the mission x gatefold box,and multiple french.

I collect them here and there if I'm bored and feel like buying something, but not over the top must have all variations kind of thing.icon_mrgreen.gif

i think i am leaning toward over the top icon_shades.gif

Nothing wrong with that at all!icon_thumbsup.gif Have you ever picked up any of the Brazilian Digimax releases? I've thought about it over the years but just haven't got around to it....

ive never seen them available to buy them, you know where?

By the way, Digiplay is what I meant to say, not Digimax. INTV Funhouse has a good section on them, PsychoStormtrooper had a great section on his site as well which is now gone. They show up on ebay once in a while.

A few years ago there was a ton auctioned off and I passed, just too busy with real-life at that time to start collecting something else, kinda wish I'd bought some...icon_frown.gif

  15. Hey! Someone chopped about an inch and a half off the right side!!! Those BASTARDS! (Get it, it's a Robot Bastard clone...?? Nevermind. lol) It'll NEVER work right now...

Unless maybe it as BenHeck project. icon_smile.gif

Pretty cool looking robot with a ColecoVision, I watched most of the episode. I was thinking how cool the random blue flashing keypad would be.

And now you've got your next controller project Yurkie!icon_mrgreen.gif

Put me down for a set!!icon_lol.gif

  16. Super Kewl! icon_shades.gif

I vote for Berzerk to be the first game that uses this little beauty! The game itself wouldn't be too hard to program from scratch, and with the proper speech samples, the fans would just eat it up! icon_mrgreen.gif

So anyway, how are you going to add this new chip to the SGM? Will you need to take some existing features out?

3 most obvious choices would be Berzerk, Wizard of Wor and Bosconian.

And yep, the OKI is going to the SGM. Always wanted to have them, but couldn't find a source.

And they are good not just for voices, but for all kind of very complex sound effects.

Donkey Kong Arcade should use it for the walking and jumping sound FXs for example.

The two more convenient sampling frequencies are 6.4kHz and 8kHz. Both don't require much memory (3.2kB/s and 4kB/s respectively) and the sound FIFO can be loaded just once per interrupt, which is perfect for the CV.

While I must admit the technical specs are lost on me, you don't need to be a genius to recognize how cool this is going to be.icon_lust.gif

Well done Eduardo, can't wait to get a chance to send you money!icon_mrgreen.gif

  17. A guy at a local classic game shop was telling me that the RF won't work on a TV that only has a digital tuner. I was thinking about it and it makes sense, but since I only have CRTs with analog tuners I am curious now.

If you have a ColecoVision and a new LCD or plasma TV with a digital only tuner, could you post weather or not the RF works on your TV set?.

    Feedback very much appreciated.

I'll tell you what does work on a LCD!! The A/V modded Colecovisions that I've bought from you!!icon_mrgreen.gif

  18. They guys who sells the Orphan Overlays and always seems to have extremely overpriced INTV games, I have a hunch it is psychostormtrooper.

That had occurred to me but I know that I've bought stuff from Psycho over the years from a different ebay account. Not that he can't have more than one but I know I won an auction for the Orphan Overlay set #1 from Psycho way back when and then I bought OO set#3 from the same account as well, so why bother setting up a different account to sell the proofs. He always charged pretty reasonable prices on stuff he was selling IIRC.
