I think that the general use of 40 column printers 'back in the day' was to print out basic listings of programs. Some people prefer to debug programs on paper rather than on a terminal.

I believe (pretty sure) that the Aquarius printer was the same printer that was used with the Keyboard component, just rebadged. Perhaps there were cosmetic differences. I don't know for sure.

I have both. I should check that out. 🤔

My apologies! Yes I just got it on Friday safe and sound, but didn't open it until Sunday despite Rev's lies. Thanks again for helping me get one of my holy grails. Now we are a club of two unless someone else has one that hasn't mentioned it. 🤔

One thing I noticed, or rather I recall someone else pointed out, is that only one game from the 125 original releases used actual real photograph of humans on it.   Anyone know which one?

    Easy. Slam Dunk. Pfffft.

Forget the $400 consoles, auto makers have reportedly cut back on car production due to chip shortages, and its much easier for them to bury cost uppers for their chips given their small percentage of the total costs that are required for build (parts, labor, facilities, etc. and especially given their $30k+ price tags) then for consoles with much lower cost and chips representing a higher percentage of the overall component cost.

The take away is that despite the low percentage chip cost (or more likely availability) required for build, the chip shortage is preventing auto makers from bringing their $30k+ products to market.

Agreed. I ordered a new vehicle in the summer for delivery in Sep/Oct and I’m picking it up on Tuesday, about 5 months later than expected. Anyone not understanding why there are delays in things like the Amico getting shipped are just not paying attention to the realities of the world right now. If a 1 year delay was happening in a non-pandemic time I could understand getting frustrated and being skeptical, but in 2020/2021 I think you just have to be realistic and cross your fingers that the 10/10/2021 date will be realized. I have every confidence that Tommy and the team at Intellivision will be able to do so and we’ll all be happy this fall/winter.

I know it’s the first time I’ve seen the Inty version.  Surprising. You wouldn’t think production numbers would be that different.

Agreed. I must admit I haven't looked for them actively but recently bought a second version of the Atari one. I'd like a boxed Inty one at some point. There's a loose one on eBay.

I don’t think this is anything major, but I grabbed it because I hadn’t ever seen the Intellivision version before especially still in box.  I know the Atari version is fairly common. How many folks have come across this for the Intellivision?

Great pick up. I have the Atari version of this and the Inty is definitely harder to find

How about: K2 of the Mountain

I like the thin air idea. In the 2012 release, the tallest mountain (mountain 10) is 13,600 feet. It will now be 17,200. I like to make the games challenging but do not fret. Mountain 1 originally is 3,600 and this will be 2,800. The levels will be better balanced than before but would you expect less? :)

    Back to designing...

    Excellent news!

I am glad we left the original title screen on the 2012 release of KotM. The 2021 release will be a full blown out Intelligentivision release!

The original release had 6 screen:

    - Top of the Mountain

    - Car/bottom of the mountain

    - River

    - Hut

    - 2 different screens with just walking paths

The 10th level uses 35 screens (will change) and only 4 different screens (will change) to pick from. We now know why the game seems so monotonous. I am hoping to build over 20 new screens (think Super Chef BT and Ms Night Stalker). This will give plenty variety in the game play.

This is awesome news. I like this game already and this makes me want this upgraded version even more.
