nintendo confirms new console coming this year
ATARI7800fan replied to xg4bx's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Yeah ... that's really why the "Wii is underpowered" whining argument gets under my skin. Companies bitching about Wii hardware being "GameCube 1.5" and using it as an excuse for their N64 .75 results. It is nice though to see some companies know how to good graphics out of the Gamecube and Wii though like Sega, Capcom, and Ubisoft. Though Sega is best when it comes to that. -
I agree.

Do you think in a way that this constraint to make the game for consoles could be slowly killing of PC gaming or do you think it is still going strong.

Love that game, one of the major reasons I want to get a 3DO someday. -

and people are surprised. I thought by know most people would have relieved that Sony is the Type of company that will not take responsibility for there mistakes even when it is common knowledge they are to blame.

nicely done.

Nice collection. Should be getting my first ever TurboGrafx-16 soon. What is your opinion of the Odyssey 2.

What is it like, I have always found the vectrex intriguing.

Looking for some 'under the radar' game recommendations.

Plus Sonic colors. and Sega and Sonic all stars racing, if you want a Kart racer with characters besides Nintendo that is actually good. -
I would also add Zoids:Battle Legends, Viewtiful Joe,Vector, and Bloody Roar. Plus the think that F-Zero GX which is considered the best by many was made by Sega. I think they should make the next one, I demand a new F-Zero and StarFox, we already have Kirby.

That always was a fun game on my Dreamcast.

Word from an unreliable source (brother) is that it's partially up now. I have heard that too, though most say it is just a rumor and that it is only in certain countries so far.

I am currently planning on getting a TurboGrafx-16 and was wondering if any one has complete TurboGrafx-16 games for sale. Plus I am also getting a converter here in the next week and was wondering if anyone has a copy of Salamander for the PC engine complete they would like to sell, also interested in Raiden and Aero Blaster,Dungeon Explorer as well as others games for the system in general, just starting. Thanks for your time.

Love Gary Numan's music. The 80's were great when it came to music, had so many different styles compared to today.

Sounds like Sony is still trying to pass the blame so they do not have to admit it was there fault. I refuse to buy products from a company that after almost a month still will not admit it was there fault the breach happened because of crappy security. This anonymous person was probably paid to say these things.

I don't think the Neo-Geo and N64 are very comparable. For starters, both systems come from two different eras of technology. The Neo was designed in 1989 and the N64 over a period of years in the mid 90s. More specifically, I recall hearing that the data on N64 carts is multiplexed and is pretty much completely different from the cartridge interfaces of the olden days, like the Neo. For that reason and I'm sure many others, is why the N64 can do more with a smaller cartridge. On your question of, "does the Neo's lack of compression make it unoptimized?", I'm not even sure what you're asking here. I don't think a console has to be capable of data compression in order for it to be deemed the most powerful. The Neo, in a stock state, just isn't powerful enough to do any sort of compression. It has a 68k main CPU and a Z80 for driving the sound processor and other related duties. In reality the Neo-Geo is a VERY basic machine and isn't that extravagant or fancy at all. The parts of the system that make it more powerful than the Genesis (which is quite comparable in the choices of machine components) is the cart slot, the graphics and sound chips and other specialty components that tie everything together. The audio/visual parts of the system are what we usually pay attention to when a Neo-Geo game is in action. At the heart of everything, it's pretty much just a super-charged Sega Genesis operating the show. Is that not how most consoles were starting with the PlayStation, put the main responsibility of the graphics on a separate graphics card instead of having the processor being the main part of the console that ran and did everything like with the Sega Saturn, really high end CPU, compared to PlayStation that had a slightly weaker CPU but excellent GPU, that's when I feel consoles started to become more like computers in a smaller case and designed to do one thing with there own operation systems designed for a single purpose. -
Steam selling fraudulent EA game keys ?

If I remember correctly from interviews and what I have read, Bioware still owns all the IP's it had before EA teamed up with them. Also I think that might included IP's after too but only owns Bioware makes, like Bungie's agreement with Activision. -

Good thing the Mass Effect series does not require keys to work, can't wait for the third one.
