Good price for a Amiga 1000/ opinion of it
ATARI7800fan replied to ATARI7800fan's topic in Commodore Amiga
Thanks that really does help. My other question would be how hard is it to find American games for the Amiga. I have seen some lots on ebay but those seem to be rare. How hard is it to run a Pal Amiga on a American TV. Found one game lot today of American games that is about 50 in size, If I had the money I would probably buy those and the Amiga 1000 I found, not to sure If I will get one though. I do know the next time I replace my PC I will look to see how much the new "Amiga's" cost that commodore USA is selling. Nice to see a Amiga 1000 model on there site. Just love the look of them, plus the 1000 is the only model it seems that commodore released with the Amiga checkmark logo. -
How much were you looking to get for the Amiga CD32, is it a NTSC or pal model.

Hi, I was wondering what is a good price for a Amiga 1000, just love the look of it. Here is a link of one I found on ebay. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 200594111572 Also what are people's opinions of it and are there any games that it can't play, Does it play the Lotus and Jaguar games. Thanks for your time.

Sonic Generations, what can it be
ATARI7800fan replied to ATARI7800fan's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Link? As in Legend of Zelda? If you didn't enjoy Ocarina of Time, than that's fine. But to consider it a bad game is a pretty far stretch... In fact, all the Zelda games have been good. That said, none of them have been brilliant since Ocarina. I don't think it's a bad game, though it certainly doesn't appeal to me. I just think 2D franchises tend to lose a lot of their character when the IP owners try to figure out how to tack an extra dimension on. I don't think Sega's ever figured out exactly what to do with Sonic's extra dimension. The second one says that it has been removed from Rapidshare. How 'bout the torrent? I had not tried that not a big fan of torrents. -

If you can bring hand-helds I would have to say a Sega Nomad or Neo Geo Pocket color. -
Opinion of Neo Geo Pocket Color
ATARI7800fan replied to ATARI7800fan's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Thanks for all the responses. Once you think about it SNK with the Neo Geo Pocket color was the only company to get a formula that might have been equal or beaten the Gameboy, A handheld that is compact yet comfortable to hold, got incredibly good battery life, was a good price if maybe a little cheaper then the gameboy, had good graphics but was not so over the top that it effected battery life and a good selection of games. I wonder how long the batteries would have lasted if they had put a 32-bit processor in it like the Gameboy. Too bad other companies like Sony can't seem to figure that one out with the PSP. If SNK could have had the money to keep on going and got more third party support I think it would have done better. -
Just what I was thinking. And on the Sony side of things... where is the truth in his statement? The PSP won't be sustained for a decade. The PS3 will be... as a cheap bluray player, but not likely as a game console. The PS1 and PS2 could arguably be said to have sustained for a decade, but their specs weren't far above their peers. "Competitive," of course, but not "cutting edge." Using Tretton's words as an example, Sony is trying to make the industry play by their business model, instead of fitting their business model to the industry. exactly, hopefully it doesn't work I like the industry as it is now.

There is now a Dragon in front of the Background, Breath of Fire might be a possibility.

What is your guy's opinion of the Neo Geo Pocket Color. What about its games, Did it deserve the fate it got. Are there any homebrew games for it.

Just what I was thinking.

New Commodore Branded Computers

What? The first part of that isn't true at all (well, they may be trying, I don't know, but they're not succeeding), and the second part of that is superficially at best. Not trying to discourage anyone else from buying one if it's right for them, I just don't have any interest in them and see only a limited market for these machines. Bang for the buck they definitely are not. Actually once you look up the prices for parts the Vic-Pro's CPU alone is 350 dollars, the 4GB or memory is probably about 50-100 dollars depending on what speed you get, then there is the WiFi and hard-drive, so the 1200 dollar price is not that far off actually. You're dreaming. Or shopping in the wrong places LOL. Plus, you need to compare it to comparably-specced completes, not building one from parts. But either way, that thing can be built to those specs (or better) for FAR cheaper. The Intel Core 2 Quad CPU(Q9650, 3.0GHz, 12MB, 1333MHz FSB) at new egg.com is 339 dollars. 4GB or ram is 64.99,DVD drive would be 30.Hard drive would be about 160. That would be about 570 not including power supply, wifi, fans, motherboard and of course the case. Plus building one from parts is always cheaper then buying a complete one from a company because you do not have to pay for it being built. I am not saying it is a steal but it is not like they are ripping people off either. Now the C64X, that price is not to far off either. A atom 330 board is 150 dollars. Same price for memory, hard-drive the only difference is that is comes with a Blue-ray drive instead which is about 120. It is of course not for everyone, but has still applied to some. -

So far it sounds like commodore USA has sold out of the first two production runs of the Commodore 64. Plus some of there other models. What was that about this not selling. Also they have quit a few supports including Motorola and TG3 electronics and of course Disney.

Another reason I could see this be successful is all the support and partnerships the company has so far. Motorola, NewTek,Disney, Cybernet,Getway,TG3 electronics,INC. Hope him good luck, can't wait to see the Amiga's. -

I think you're in denial. Next week you're going to order one, aren't you? :) I would if I could afford one, not sure what to get either the Commodore 64 with everything or the Vic Plus with everything. I like the commodore 64 for having the better Graphics capability but the Vic Plus had such a better CPU, a quad core. Or maybe wait and see if they release the Vic Plus and what it comes with. I would love it if it had the same CPU or at least the Dual core but with the Graphics from the 64 but for a lower price, I do not mind having a smaller hard-drive, just like the look better, plus love where the built in mouse is going to be, having it on the right side instead of the middle seems to make more sense. Hop it has a 4GB ram option. Plus it sounds like with Disney help they are hoping to start getting the models(just the standard options for now)in retail outlets across North America and Europe in the coming months. Hopefully stores like game stop or something(not Wal-Mart). Or maybe I will wait to see what is in store for there Amiga line coming here soon. -
That's a terrible idea. Nintendo is doing well precisely because they're not competing with Sony and MS on the same terms. Even if Sega put their name on the box, it would still be Nintendo's investment, and it would be a money pit for both. Just split the cost and support 50/50. Its not like Sony is doing that well right now, There PR defiantly is not helping "DS is a baby's toy". They really need to think before they open there mouths or "Price does not make or break a system". Right it just kills it.

I will admit I wish them the best of luck. If they would have had these and the VIC Pro 2 years ago when I started going to college I would have gotten that instead. It would have been 200 or more dollars cheaper then my laptop and that is the high end model. Even the mid range model has a better CPU them my laptop and I do not carry it around as much as I thought, stays in my room most of the time. Yes it might not be commodore hardware, but the company is trying to give people the best PC bang for there buck while trying to bring the commodore design of computers back, Can't wait to see what the Amiga models have, Trying to upgrade a Dell Dimension 2400 while keeping the case is getting just a bit hard. -
Rumor: Wii 2 to be announced at E3
ATARI7800fan replied to godslabrat's topic in Nintendo Wii / Wii U
What if they make the next console a evolution of Wii to keep that audience then partner with Sega to release a console under there name that will be more like the PS3 and Xbox 360. That way they can have sides of the playing field covered and get some of Sony's and Mircrosoft's fans. I would love to see a console supported by both Nintendo and Sega imagine the launch line-up. Plus if it does not sell well nintendo will not take as much damage because sega's name will be on it, just have support and cost of the system a even 50/50 split. -

I said sonic colors and I consider anything at a 80 or higher on the metacritic good. Combined with the user score. are you someone that thinks sonic will never be as good as Mario. Not saying your a fanboy or anything but you seem to dis sonic anytime someone mentions it. Just because a character has had a few bad games does not mean he can't improve. Look at Mario sunshine for instance, that game was shit and they improved afterwords. -
I am saying Nintendo having 2 consoles but release one under the Sega Name, so they could keep the audience they have know with the Wii and also get people from the Sony and Microsoft audience, that way they could have both sides of the market covered and if it goes bad it would not effect them as much as it would have sega's name on it not there's
