  1. That would be an ideal solution for people wanting Sega to regain some of their early 90s focus without spending so much they go broke. I don't really see the need for Sega to do too much on the hardware end of things... there's just no motivation for them to dedicate the resources to it. Rather, if they just became a second-party developer to Nintendo, they could treat the Wii2 like it was their own personal design. This might, just might, let them spend more time making games and less time over-marketing them. But, this would still be a far cry from them actually re-entering the hardware market. I can totally understand the emotional appeal of having a new Sega console on the market, but there really is no reason for it to happen. You mean besides the fact the microsoft is running out of steam when it comes to first-party games and now or soon would be a good time to try to take them down. If Nintendo were to help Sega develop a system, maybe have supported by Nintendo printed on it, that could compete against sony and Microsoft for the next few years while Nintendo continues selling and supporting the Wii(which is not good for graphic intensive games) and supporting the new 3DS while Sega goes for more of the traditional gamers, after seeing video of what High Voltage can do on the Wii(which I believe they said for the time being they will stick with Sega being there publisher). I would love to see what they could do on some better hardware, basically have nintendo have two consoles in a way, a continuation of the Wii while they help Sega make a more traditional console, that way they could cover both sides without supporting two consoles. I would love to see a launch lineup for that, maybe have some cross overs like Mario. The idea of the Wii 2 would work too. Have it under the Sega Name while Nintendo continues to sell and support the Wii for more casual people(hate using names when there really is not any). I mean Sega has plenty of second parties they publish for Like High Voltage and Platinum games. I think this year or next year would be a good time to do it, if Nintendo and Sega agreed to such a plan. It is nice though to see I am not the only one who thinks Sega's IP's plus the people they Publish for combined with Nintendo's IP's could kick some serious butt.
  2. Here is the video of the game, if they make this like sonic colors but improve it and mix different levels from there previous games plus new ones, and add a classic sonic module option I think this will be the best sonic game yet, Plus that would be 2 good games in 2 years. If they pull this off I think they could improve sonic's image, Been awhile since they have had a good game two years in a row http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewbKq3Zh08o&feature=channel_video_title
  3. You got a Spartan version!, elites/covenant or so much better!. Just kidding, nice looking controller.
  4. I was thinking what if Nintendo Teamed up with Sega to release a console, one supported by Sega and Nintendo. A console that could last against sony and Mircosoft for the next few years. While the Wii is selling well, I feel that those two combined could come out with a system that could beat sony and microsoft. Something that would appeal more to older fans without Nintendo taking as much of a risk. What do you guys think of those two teaming up.
  5. That would be even better. It would be so cool to see a new modern system with the classic Atari logo on it. Sadly Sega still has a much better chance. From what I have read that website literally had millions of responses of people saying hell yes to the idea. Plus the Dreamcast is still highly remembered.
  6. Yes, that indeed looks like an excellent launch. It's a shame that SEGA got out of the hardware business. I'm not giving up hope that they might retunr one day. Maybe after Sony or MIcrosoft or Nintendo cease business.... but hten, who would want this to happen? I agree, would love to see a Sega system again. I really do wonder how much longer Microsoft will last. Most of the IP they own are about over. Bungie's done with Halo, Fable is done, Gears of war is about over, Mass effect is now on all consoles. I mean really what do they have left besides Forza.
  7. Probably there are just no 360 users that care about the data they hand over to microsoft on Atari Age? Certainly not enough to read over the terms of use and point out to the general public parts they find disturbing. That's all that's been done in this thread, and it's helpful that they did so. With it apparently taking a few minutes just to scroll down to the bottom without reading, one can only assume it was made that long on purpose to discourage reading. (And I'm sure the vast majority of PS3 owners just went tl;dr and hit agree as planned, or would have if they didn't see this thread.) I read over my Xbox live user agreement and it was not any where as bad as this is.
  8. Dreamcast Launch titles: Soul Calibur Sonic Adventure Power Stone Hydro Thunder Mortal Kombat Gold Expendable Blue Stinger Tokyo extreme racer House of the Dead 2 NFL 2K Ready 2 Rumble Plus others (such a good launch, too bad sega could have not stayed in longer, I wonder if they would have if they had known how the gamecube would have gone.)
  9. on average 10-15 for each system. I own around 10 or so systems. one of every bit generation plus a few handhelds. four Nintendo systems, three sega systems, 2 systems and one computer. 2 Neo Geo's.
  10. I would say shrewd is putting it lightly, having a near monopoly and being sued and taken to court by the US government. That fits better. Though I can't say much I own a Wii(xbox 360 does not have platformers.) With Sony I feel it is more because they own a major stake in everything electronic besides computers. Games that will last, Rachet and Clank Super Mario Galaxy Sonic colors(platformers in general.) Kart racers Mass Effect series(Love RPG's) Strategy games anything that does not rely on online multiplier to sell.
  11. How is 10 years unrealistic. The Atari 2600 lasted 10 years and look what they were able to get out of that system or the PS2 for example. Consoles only lasting 5 years does not give developers time to get the most out of the hardware. The 2600 and the PS2 generations didn't last 10 years. The 5200 was released in 1982. The PS3 was released in 2006. In point of fact, the 2600 and PS2 only lasted about 5 years. Sure, the 2600 and PS2 were supported for several years after their hardware had been superseded. Every major console sees support continue for at least a couple of years after a new generation of hardware arrives. That's not at all what I'm talking about. I'm saying this generation lasting 10 years without any new hardware is stretching things too far. Still disagree.
  12. I am actually looking at either the original DS or DSI XL. I noticed that with the lite when I hold it with one hand to use the style's after a while the corner starts to dig into my hand and hurt abit. I do not have this problem with the original because of its size so I figure it should be the same with the XL. The only thing is I have also never owned a gameboy Advance and there are a few nice games for it I would like to have, like Rayman, and the only good version of spyro eternal night. I was wondering though I noticed on the original DS I borrowed from a relative that the bottom screen was not as sensitive as the DS lite I had tried at a used game store, could it be that the screens were out after so long. Tried both with Star Fox command.
  13. I tried a DS lite out today for a bit while I played Star Fox command. I did notice the the lower profile of the lite resulted in the corner digging into my hand a bit as I held it with one hand to use the stly's. I do not seem to have that problem with the DS phat but have not played it as long either. I was wondering is the bottom screen on the lite more sensitive because I noticed that compared to the slightly used DS lite when I tried the screen on the original DS(which my cousin has had since it came out) sometimes it did not want to register as well when I used the style's compared to the lite.
  14. I actually did not know that, forgot to see when the last comment was posted.
  15. It was to prove a point, if he does not think making fun of the Xbox 360 for no reason effects people what if I make fun of the name of the console he prefers. He did it so why not other people. Plus I own both.
  16. clearly other members knew that if someone didn't use restraint a pointless off-topic debate would ensue. the second clue to stop was: This is a que to swallow your pride and accept the other person not only doesn't want to debate but realizes he irritated you. Again, a clue to stop. If I was a politician and "not sorry" and playing favorites then take a step back and post elsewhere. Notice no one else thought it necessary to continue off-topic despite my opinions. If you had stepped back from the keyboard maybe you would have gotten that I too have had modern consoles fry and wished to commiserate with the poster on his loss. You say expect a response but in AtariAge I expect a constructive, positive response. If you can't do that don't. You can't win a debate with a fool. Save your breath for someone you find worthy. In the meantime lets stop hijacking this poor mans thread. Lets end this with a happy note - his PS3 works. I agree, sorry to hear his Playsuction 3 died, I have a Xbox 360 so far and have not had a single problem, hope him the best of luck with his Sucky.
  17. I already have an idea of what I want I just like to get the general opinion on things. Also yes I would want a GBA slot, it has the only good version of Spyro eternal darkness so far. The only thing is what version to get lite or original. The price is about only a 30 dollar difference where I live.
  18. I did that in case some people only go to the classic section and not the modern one, trying to get as many opinions as possible, so I know if it worth getting a DS lite with the GBA slot or not.
  19. I have recently started looking into the DS and GBA advance and it seems like these two combined have every platformer that was good in the 90's. The GBA has everything from crash and spyro to sonic. Even some platformers that were on both system seem to do better on the GBA like Spyro the eternal night compared to the DS version(I am a spyro fan one of my favorite games on the PS2). Plus New super mario bros on the DS. I also find it interesting that the company that did Spyro eternal darkness on the GBA also did the DS version of Eragon which got positive reviews unlike the consoles version, both were made by Griptonite Games. What do you guys think, do you think DS plus GBA equals platforming heaven for handhelds.
