Hello. I currently own Earthworm Jim and I am thinking of getting the sequel. I currently own a Genesis and Saturn and was wondering which version people think is the best both in music and gameplay. Thanks for your time.

Something that could bring down Gamestop
ATARI7800fan replied to Rev's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I do understand why they do it at banks, with the internet and technology these days it is not hard to get people's personal information like Social security numbers and other things. It is impossible on the other hand to copy a fingerprint. Some people might complain but it is thanks to idiots that these measures were put into effect in the first place that the rest of us have to follow. Besides people used to think it was overkill to have to use there Social security for things but people have gotten used to it, just like this will. A few ruin it for the rest. -
The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night is a excellent game released later in the GBA's life, around 2007. It also happens to be a excellent platformer and the best version out of all the others including the console versions. Joystiq gave the GBA version a 9.5, praising the game's graphics, combo system, and its storyline; they called it "the last great GBA game."

Good points though I feel mass effect is one series I will always go back to because there are so many options that change the story in the latter games that there are probably nearly hundreds of ways the third game can end. I have played Mass Effect 2 5 times over so far. As for online games, that is why I still find Halo 2 and Reach to be the best because of the amount of options and good campaigns. Reason I got rid of Halo 3 was because I know as soon as the next console comes out and they quit supporting the servers for it like they did with 2 I will have no reason to play it because it has a weak campaign.

Anyone else think the 3DS is the new Virtual boy?
ATARI7800fan replied to retrogamesuk's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I wish. The 3DS screens are puny in comparison. I was hoping for something more XL-like. From what I saw they are bigger than the DSlite screens right? or am i mistaken? The top one is 3.53 inches while the bottom screen is the size of the original DS screen. -
Have there been any updates on what games are for the expansion and how they are coming along. Also will there be a way of seeing what games in the store are XM only games.

Nice collection, Well done.

Do you remember what brand it was. I have seen Komodo and Retro-bit brands so far, which one is better quality. -
I currently have a Saturn and was wondering what do people think of the S-video cable's for the system. What brands are good(was thinking of getting mine from Racketboy.com) Are there any games that do not work with S-video or have problems. How do 2D games look using S-video. I currently only have RF for it. Thanks for your time.

Thinking of buying a PSP-3000

Can't forget about DarkStalkers. -
very good review, if a little long. Would probably get one for portable gaming if it was cheaper. For that price I could get a Gameboy SP and a 3DS.

Pay to Play “Call of Duty Elite” Is Coming

I have never had that problem with Halo, defiantly not reach as I have not gotten any of the extra maps so far. Actually they give the user made maps they chose to free to people. -
Should I get S-video or VGA for my Dreamcast.
ATARI7800fan replied to ATARI7800fan's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yes. I've never had any luck with S-Video on the Dreamcast. I always get an unstable picture. I did recently grab a VGA Box from Racketboy and a VGA -> HDMI converter from Monoprice and the picture quality is jaw-dropping, even on a 55" display: http://implantgames.com/?p=961 Did you have any trouble with the VGA Box from racketboy working on the first try. -

That's why I was thinking of S-video through a VGA box seeing as the standalone S-video cable I have seen for sale for dreamcast most people say are junk. or just VGA and use the cables it came with for my 2D games. Also are there any 2D fighters that look better with VGA instead of the same or worse. -

Would these S-video cables work with a VGA box. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Monster-Cable-4-Monster-Standard-THX-Certified-S-Video-And-Analog-Audio-A-V-Kit/11081085 http://www.walmart.com/ip/StarTech.com-PC2TVSVID10-S-Video-and-RCA-Stereo-Cable/13070241?findingMethod=rr#BVReviewsContainer -

ATARI7800fan replied to ATARI7800fan's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Thanks for all the responses. I was thinking if I got a VGA box of getting one with S-video, so I could use that for my 2D games. Also might seem like a silly question but when people say S-video. I have checked stores such as walmart and the cables they sell are only one hookup. Does S-video just use the red and white from a component cable for the sound. are they seperate. -
I am currently thinking of upgrading my video cables on my Dreamcast. I am also on a low budget and love to play 2D games such as fighters and platformers. So I was wondering should I get a S-Video cable for it(all modern tv's have those right, bring it to friends houses sometimes)or should I spend the extra money and get a VGA box or cable. Also which brands should I go with. I know there are some brands of S-video and VGA boxes that seem to be badly made. What are your thoughts and opinion. Thanks for your time.

looks awesome. I wonder how good it would look using VGA.

It has a long, long, long way to go. I don't think it'll ever get there. 1) The movies cost waaaaaay too much. It's a polycarbonate (or whatever plastic it is) disc, stamped out by a similar machine (to DVD). With economies of scale, there should be little-to-no difference. Sony just sticks it in the can of everybody with their licensing fees. It would have been better for everyone (in this fee regard) if HD DVD had won. 2) The library is limited. Hell, we're still seeing older movies and TV series come out on DVD today. If it took them this many years to get it on DVD I doubt they'll ever get around to Blu-ray. 3) The DVDs look so damn good on HDTV with upscaling player. I was really, really impressed with this. Sure, it's not a Blu-ray, but the first time I tried it, I was absolutely delighted at how good it looked. If you're close you see all kinds of artifacting, but from the sofa it really does look excellent. Even "burned" DVDs that have been compressed to single-layer discs look impressive. 4) This link: Netflix alone is responsible for 22 percent of all Internet traffic in North America i just never saw the appeal of blu-ray. i used it when i had my ps3 but i didnt find it to be this infinitely better, pants wetting experience. i just dont give enough of a sh*t about any movie to worry about some extra pixels. its just a dopey movie. with the growth of netflix blu ray will be dead soon enough anyway. i havent bought a movie on any format in years and im certainly not going to be pissing money away on rebuying the same bleeping movies again and again on new formats. The only things I dislike about Blue-Ray is that unless a person has a full 1080p TV there is no difference in how it looks. Only recently have those gotten more affordable. My 19inch is only 720p, most tv's that are 1080p are 32inches or bigger. I think HD-DVD would have worked better in the long run, plus I had bought a player for my 360. Then again always have my LaserDisc player as a back up.

agree, with completely. The only real difference between a model 1 and a 2 though is that the sound is considered by some to be worse on the model 2 then the model 1. That is only early to mid model 2's though as the later ones did have the same sound.

might take awhile, they only made 25,000 of those at the most.

Excellent packaging, quick shipping. Would gladly do business with again.

Yep, supposedly too many parents mailed in complaining that the show was making there kids want to eat cookies and become fat and unhealthy. So they decided that the cookie monster had a stroke because of eating to many cookies so now he eats veggies and only has cookies every once in a while in moderation. Family guy even made fun of this. this is also why they put warning labels on the sesame street 'old school' dvds. but these discs will be the only exposure to sesame street my daughter will have. no elmo, invisible snuffy, and cookie monster and colbert covered this brilliantly http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/174545/june-19-2008/cookie-monster They put warning labels on the older season DVDs? Really that seems a bit overkill. What is this country and society coming too.
