The Prettiest Looking Game System Ever!

Dreamcast Diver 2000 CX-1 -
Thanks so after Stargate/Defender II was also Road Runner and Motorodeo released by Atari Corp as a 'new' game? I'm not interested in colour/silver box re-releases like Space Invaders or Millipede, just genuine Atari Corp releases, but including the Nintendo/Parker, CBS games.

MIT Altair 8800s came pre-assembled too, so yes that is the first computer with Basic, but not built-in, it came on paper roll, delivered to MIT by Paul Allen of the soon to be Micro-Soft. They (Bill and Paul) wrote Altair Basic, but of course, they learned it via Teletype from the original Basic from way back the 60s. Microsoft Basic for Atari 800 was supposed to be written by Bill, but he never finished it, so Al Alcorn fired Bill Gates from the project, and MS Atari Basic was finished by someone else of MS.

Shoulder buttons, I mean VCS paddles had a button 'on the side of the shoulders' instead of on top, so it's really putting the buttone more 'up' with the SNES joypads. As for being longest in the industry Philips been going almost as long as Nintendo (1891), but Milton Bradley even longer (1860), IBM since 1896
-
Some of these are true like microphone in a joypad, or using disks with an add-on on a console (but then the VCS already had an add-on using tapes on a console, so disks on a console, no big deal after all), but they were hardly industry leading innovations. Shoulder buttons might work, but stereo sound on a hand held was already done on Atari Lynx. So no reminder needed, as Nintendo is more a follower than a leader. Best you never forget that. On a side note, someone was saying 'first battery back up in a cartridge' this happened first on the Epoch Super Cassettevision with the game Dragonslayer.

Stellar Track, an excellent strategy title from the old Star Trek series of games from the late 70s: VCS version Atari 800 version On computers it also was known as Star Fleet I:

I do: It's for C64 though

This guy deserves far more credit than Shigiwhatsit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sid_Meier Sid is great but not sure what he has to do with Nintendo....also your really underestimating Shigawhatsit's contribution to gaming.. See, Shigeru was OK but later he didn't do much, just throwing his name around, bit like Roberta Williams. Sid did far more for gaming, but not a lot to do with Nintendo, and that's a good thing. On a different note, here's a great 'real' 3D game on Amiga from 1991: http://www.mobygames.com/game/amiga/hunter/cover-art/gameCoverId,80141/

is/was sega a shadow of atari

both were American (one went Jap, one went French) -
Ah ok, the sticky Free tape doesn't go around the back of the bag, maybe that's a help. Maybe it was attached to the box, but I cannot see any tape scuffes like one would.

I can give it a try scanning the poster, although my scanner is on top of my Canon Pixma MP 630, and it's hard to balance stuff spilling out of the scanner. Anyhow, scan of the plastic bag, you gotta be kidding;
-
The 'Seal of Approval' was like a joke really, even games like Godzilla and Taboo got them. Actually the seal of approval only meant the cartridge works in said console. Did it set a standard? As a matter of fact Nintendo didn't care much who bought their cartridges for making games, as long as they bought loads. As for looking for concepts and taking them to te bank, Love Hotels? Rice cookers? late entry in Pong consoles? didn't exactly rocked the world (or Japan). The laser range did good, as did some of the Nintendo toys during the 70s.
-
Right, here's the sticker sheet: and here's a big picture of the wall chart. No scanning, I took a 'best I could' picture for now. The poster is like 30 inches x 22 inches, so 4 times scanning wouldn't do. I hope this is big enough. Yes, I won 16 VCS games on ebay and it was a (nice) surprise to find the Pole Position with the wall chart/stickers, even in its original plastic bag.
-
Can you be more specific about what is different? It's a PAL RGB signal so I'm not sure why it would need a special TV. As long as the TV has an RGB SCART socket it should work. Mitch The French TV standard is Secam, not PAL

Those Broderbound/Synapse text adventures? Essex? -
post the original sized pic? It doesn't fit in my scanner. You mean photograph it?
-
I recently received Pole Position from ebay, it included a racing car wall chart from 1984 and some stickers in an official Atari plastic-bag. Was this at one stage a pack-in? I never seen it before besides an ad on AtariMania.

Best of these 3? (dreamcast, ps1, n64)
high voltage replied to super_dos_man's topic in Classic Console Discussion
PlayStation 's gotta be the number one here, it introduced CD gaming to the masses, introduced 3D gaming to the masses, took the same approach as Sega advertising, but up to the next level, and had a fantasic range of excellent titles. Of course, having the biggest gaming library always gives you loads of 'worse' games (re NES), but compare to N64, with maybe 10 - 15 good titles, and the rest just average, you'd always know what to pick where's PSX is concerned. DC is almost in the same league as PSX, lots of outstanding gaming titles, whereas N64 trailing along third. But as I said in a previous thread, you gotta play ALL the games on these three systems to judge....nobody's ever done that.
