well i sold this on ebay, all went well but then he says he lives in australia even though i said i sold it only within the uk, so now if he doesnt agree to pay the upwards of £100 postage im going to have to relist it.GRRRRRR Did he send it? I'm guessing not. He sent me a system w/o Wico cable and power adapter. I guess he must have seen some people selling that Wico cable for >$20 (more than the system price). Perhaps, he liked his dog chewing on his power cord, getting electrocuted and becoming a hot dog.

mate i nearly threw it out last month so i dont mind the price, Other than being 6 years too late, not really. Atari should have come out with with something like that rather than the 5200 back in '82: a "console" A8 with instant compatibility with a large library of games and peripherals. It is basically a consolized A8. The detachable keyboard is a nice feature in an A8 but the system isn't particularly desirable among serious A8 enthusiasts because of the pastel color scheme, missing PBI/ECI, and the relative difficulty of internal hardware upgrades compared to other A8s. I suspect whatever you get for it will be well south of $100 US.

woulndt mind a laptop.lol., sounds good, well im out of here, have fun watching!!! I've never owned one: my friend got one for Christmas in about 1987 but it was dead on arrival so it got sent back and replaced by a normal 65XE. I always liked the detachable keyboard, but in many ways it's lacking compared to the 65XE or 130XE. Special features included (IIRC) built-in Missile Command, and the light gun. It was intended to grab a share of the console market when the Nintendo came out, but as far as I know it was something of a flop. More info here. If I had one, I'd want to upgrade the RAM as an absolute minimum requirement, but it has none of the circuitry for RAM expansions that's already built into the 65XE and 130XE. It would be a pain to upgrade, but it's still a cool item for any collector and people have done some clever stuff with them. For instance, this guy used the mainboard as the basis for a laptop.

was there anythiong special about this system or was it mass produced? i cant seem to find similar ones near me.just pictures I'm sure it'll jump up towards the end. People probably play the waiting game nowadays - I know I do. On the other hand, it's a quiet time of year (even on the forums), no-one has any money, it's the middle of the week... there could be a variety of reasons. I've virtually given away stuff on ebay in the past, but I've always kept true to the deal and just put it down to bad luck.

yeh true, good advice, its funny though, i woulda thought this would have got more interest , i mean im selling my sega megadrive and thats got more bids and tonnes more watchers. but hey i guess people aint realli interested these days Absolutely: it's no picnic for sellers either nowadays, but it's kind of galling when people are still hedging their bets after you've paid them. I wasn't suggesting you'd do that, but if you want to action a private sale, best to do it before putting it up for auction. The marketplace on this forum is probably your best bet - after all, this is where all the enthusiasts are. Some people just list on ebay and post a link here to their item. That's more or less what you've got now, and I can't see it harming the sale price.
