I recommend Wolfenstein 3d, I-War, Iron Soldier and Checkered Flag. Yeah that's right, Checkered Flag!
-
YES!!! Even if's not financially possible for Atari to do so and they have to use government money!
-
Do people find Checkered Flag's controls THAT bad? I've had no problems with them!

Jagaur games that get a bad rep, maybe not so bad?
avanteproject replied to slackerwithin's topic in Atari Jaguar
Out of the 'bad' games I have... I was able to enjoy Kasumi Ninja enough to at least beat it on easy. I like Club Drive due to it's kinda surreal style. I think Checkered Flag is awesome and have no trouble at all with the controls, although I can see why most people would have a hard time. Cybermorph is kinda 50/50 with people I think but I really enjoy it. -
I love this game. One of my favourites on the Jaguar. The only thing I don't like is that there's no way of strafing left and right so it's hard to dodge enemies. Apart from that and the sever slowdown on the later levels, I-War is awesome. I think the graphics are great, it's challenging but not too difficult, the bonus stages add some good variety. It's just fantastic in so many ways!

The Jaguar is awesome. Some really unique games and excellent ports of games like Doom and Wolfenstein. It's one of my favourite consoles and it always will be! Also, I wouldn't have passed on that offer.

Checkered Flag and Club Drive belong in everyone's Jaguar collection!

Doom! Wolfenstein is great too and I prefer it over the PC version. AvP just bores me though.

I don't think I could ever sell any of my stuff. Whether it's my Jaguar collection, Saturn collection, etc, I just couldn't!

Checkered Flag controls better in 1st person mode?
avanteproject replied to Austin's topic in Atari Jaguar
I find it pretty responsive on camera 4. Not great but it's playable. I found the first person view made it even worse. -
I wouldn't pay £15 for a loose Jaguar cart. The least I'd expect for that price is half decent boxed cart without the manual and inner case. Still, as long as you end up liking the game and think it's money well spent then that's all the matters.

CPU- Custom built based on the Motorola 6800 range. 24bit data bus GPU- Ability to produce 150 64x64 sprites on screen, 16 bit colour, 10,000 flat shaded polygons on screen, 320x240 max resolution. Sound processor capable of 8 channel sound, digitised voice reproduction, synthesiser. 2MB RAM RF, Composite, S-Video, RGB output. Two controller inputs. 8MB RAM cartridge storage. Whether it'll be sold at a loss, I don't know. But if I have the money I'll throw in blast processing too. lol

What is your favourite game format?
avanteproject replied to Pyromaniac605's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Carts for me. They look great, they're more durable and load faster than CDs, though CDs are technically superior. I wish a console was released that used LaserDiscs. lol -
Most/least consistent consoles ever

Good - Saturn, Master System Bad - PS2, SNES -
Yeah, I've just been panicking the last 5 minutes thinking my speakers were broken. lol Cool videos though. That's actually the first footage I've seen of Trevor McFur. I've never actually looked it up before.

It would be a major boost to those later levels that seem to run at around 10 fps. lol That's something I like about PC games. The ability to change resolution, texture detail, model detail, lighting and shadows.
-
Oh right. That clears things up a bit. I didn't realise the textures were 'on' even though there are a few in the game. I thought a feature like that would have placed textures everywhere, though I guess the game would be unplayable then. lol

I was looking up codes for various Jaguar games and saw this 'bonus options' code for I-WAR. It says there is an option to turn textures on or off but that it doesn't work on the retail version. Can anyone explain this? I only know of a retail version of I-WAR, is there another version?
-
Wow, it does! It looks pretty cool too. Kinda how I'd imagine an I-War sequel to be. If I ever get a DS this will be on my list. Great find.
