Autographed Texas Chainsaw Massacre = more valuable?
atari181 replied to SpendTooMuchOnAtari's topic in Auction Central
Would love to have a copy of this!, Huge Atari fan and Huge TCM fan this would be really cool, for about $200 not 1K that is a little too steep for most of us. -
Tons and tons of funny stories went on in the early days of Atari they Did tons of drugs, Hookers, practical jokes, Parties(day and night)and made video games. What more could you ask for in a movie?

Wow! this is amazing! this auction is also listed in wikipedia under how much it is worth http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stadium_Events

Halloween/TCM double ender on ebay (not mine)
atari181 replied to newtype5's topic in Auction Central
When i was first starting my atari collection I could have very easily bid on something like this. A new collector just sees something they have never seen before and wants it because it look unique. I agree Ebay does need to do something about this, alot of people are getting ripped off. -

OMFG! That is awesome!! -
Awhile ago we all heard about this. As we all know Leo Dicaprio was pegged to play Nolan Bushnell. It was like 2 years ago I first heard about this, but no news lately. I am a huge Nolan Bushnell fan. I have always thought that he ran his business in a way that induced creativity. If anyone has any info or new links to info please pass it on. Thanks Dave

Atari's Landfill Adventures, I now have the proof it's true.
atari181 replied to Spud's topic in Atari 2600
I don't understand how anyone can believe this didn't happen. I could see today people making fun of the incident and saying they dumped ET and PacMan cart, which everyone now know were way overproduced, but even back then one of the articles implied it was ET carts. C'mon and wake up. It definately happened/ It defiantely was one of Atari's low points, and we all should have a Retro Gaming Convention in New Mexico. Everyone bring your shovels and jackhammers. -
Great Video. I have seen many of his reviews, he gave props to Atari in this one, usually he goes off about how shitty agame was. Nice to see that he liked the Swordquest series.
-
Good Choice, I wouldn't sell it either. Be carefull you may catch the Atari Collectors bug!
-
I've had these dreams on many occassions, Always dissapointing to wake up.

I don't need any pics I'll give you 20 bucks for it without the hassle of posting any pics. Seriously, would like to see pics of anything you have with it, Are you planning on puting it up for sale here in the marketplace?

It was not $2 billion, it was around $4 billion in losses, according to Forbes. That's why I used that figure earlier in the thread. http://www.joystiq.com/2005/09/26/forbes-xbox-lost-microsoft-4-billion-and-counting/ Yes they did loose 4 billion, over the life cycle of the Xbox, NOT the first year. The first year as I stated they lost around 2 billion.

At This Point Atari is not much more than a name. It is owned by infogames. Atari did not release the popular Plug N Play games a few years ago, A toy company called Jakks Pacific did. They DID however release the Flashback and Flashback 2. However Atari has nowhere near the capital to release any real new gaming system. In 2008 they were to be pulled from the NASDAQ and struggled to show that the company had assets of 15 million to stay listed. Any new system today would cost considerably more, as Microsoft saw with around 2 Billion in losses from the introduction of the first Xbox in the first year. Unfortunately this will never see the light of day. Wish it could/would but not anytime soon.

I agree, G4 was once the reason I got the full cable package, just for that channel. I would always watch G4tv. They had lots of original programming. Just looked through the guide the next 24 hours are 23 1/2 hours of shit and Xplay for 1/2 hour. Amazing that they call themselves a gaming channel. Bring back Laura Foy!
-
Wish That it would. I really enjoyed the shows, would be great if G4 revisted the same subjects maybe a little more in depth. I kind of think they are done with any original programming anymore. Cheaters or Cops anyone?

Loved ET for the 2600 and Shaq-Fu for the Genesis

I have something strange, any help on what it is?
atari181 replied to jakecoolbreeze's topic in Atari 2600
I have the same thing with about 10 ROMs. I have seen quite a few of them over the years. Pretty neat but they are fairly easy to find. Think I paid like 25.00 for mine 3 years ago.
