Great Video. I have seen many of his reviews, he gave props to Atari in this one, usually he goes off about how shitty agame was. Nice to see that he liked the Swordquest series.

Im not going to sell it. I know its worth some money because of the rarity of it but I have a son who is twelve and he's into gaming so it ought to give him something to brag about. I do appreciate everybodys help on giving me info on it and I will download pictures of the game for everyone to see.
Good Choice, I wouldn't sell it either. Be carefull you may catch the Atari Collectors bug!

I've had these dreams on many occassions, Always dissapointing to wake up.

I don't need any pics I'll give you 20 bucks for it without the hassle of posting any pics.
Seriously, would like to see pics of anything you have with it, Are you planning on puting it up for sale here in the marketplace?

At This Point Atari is not much more than a name. It is owned by infogames. Atari did not release the popular Plug N Play games a few years ago, A toy company called Jakks Pacific did. They DID however release the Flashback and Flashback 2. However Atari has nowhere near the capital to release any real new gaming system. In 2008 they were to be pulled from the NASDAQ and struggled to show that the company had assets of 15 million to stay listed.
Any new system today would cost considerably more, as Microsoft saw with around 2 Billion in losses from the introduction of the first Xbox in the first year. Unfortunately this will never see the light of day. Wish it could/would but not anytime soon.
It was not $2 billion, it was around $4 billion in losses, according to Forbes. That's why I used that figure earlier in the thread.

Yes they did loose 4 billion, over the life cycle of the Xbox, NOT the first year. The first year as I stated they lost around 2 billion.

I agree, G4 was once the reason I got the full cable package, just for that channel. I would always watch G4tv. They had lots of original programming. Just looked through the guide the next 24 hours are 23 1/2 hours of shit and Xplay for 1/2 hour. Amazing that they call themselves a gaming channel. Bring back Laura Foy!

Wish That it would. I really enjoyed the shows, would be great if G4 revisted the same subjects maybe a little more in depth. I kind of think they are done with any original programming anymore. Cheaters or Cops anyone?

OK! I had the day off for the holiday today. My co-worker came over and we got going on the cabinet. With th exception of the platform the joystick will be secured to and some painting, it's done. I will be posting pics later this evening at the project webpage...
Can't wait to see the pics. Very nice to see you using old school Atari as an education tool in 2010. Awesome!

I have the same thing with about 10 ROMs. I have seen quite a few of them over the years. Pretty neat but they are fairly easy to find. Think I paid like 25.00 for mine 3 years ago.

Was in Target today and had to get them
Essentially black boxer shorts with ATARI and the Fuji on them and GAME OVER in green pixels.
They actually come in a nice tin Fuji shaped box with Asteroids all over it and the logo on the front.
I picked up a pair of these back in early September. Here's a picture on a previous thread about them.
I am actually wearing a pair right now, It was a great christmas present from my wife. Very comfortable LOL

I have a proto of a game called "Greatest American Hero" that I am not ready to tell anyone about yet.
I also have a proto of game called "That's Incredible" with some woman called Sarah Purcell on the label. Whoever that is. I don't know if that's rare or not though.
Also, my Dad worked at Disney and his friend gave him a working copy of this 2600 game they were working on called The Black Hole after some old movie or something.
Other than those three I don't have anything too nuts. Some Charlie Brown Kite game, a game with a Birthday Cake that says my name that my parents got for me for my 8th birthday and some game with Moses in it.
Sarah Purcell was the Host of the TV show "That's incredible" I used to watch it every Sunday night. I would love to check out that game, I never heard of anything about it even being in development.

Unfortunately I bought a Qbert Qubes for 85.00 3 years ago with the "Worked last time I played it" tried everything to no avail

Atari's Landfill Adventures, I now have the proof it's true.

I don't understand how anyone can believe this didn't happen. I could see today people making fun of the incident and saying they dumped ET and PacMan cart, which everyone now know were way overproduced, but even back then one of the articles implied it was ET carts. C'mon and wake up. It definately happened/ It defiantely was one of Atari's low points, and we all should have a Retro Gaming Convention in New Mexico. Everyone bring your shovels and jackhammers.
