  1. There are so many red flags with that whole situation that I hope no one is taking it seriously. It was just an effort to swing themselves favorably against VGA. Regarding the Pro Wrestling, this Wata joker just went down his list of flags and it hit the "bent box" flag. It's all they know. This list of flags was generated over time on messageboards and taken as law by people with too much money invested in the hobby in an effort to protect their investment. It doesn't even offer any critical analysis - if this, then that and nothing more. That's what happened to you, OP. If he was actually doing right, he would be looking at the wear on that edge under magnification. The large amount of scuffing to the plastic implies that it had a rough go of it. If the plastic had similar wear, as well as flaked ink embedded in the underside of the plastic, then it would be legit, which is what it is. Instead, they just assume it's fake because their list said no. The problem lies in that those looking to generate real fakes know this list of flags and know that the grading services use them as their "kit". So as long as you dodge those flags, you can generate fakes en mas. Print new boxes, distribute weight inside the box properly and purchase the exact industrial equipment used by Nintendo (it's out there, can be had for $10-$15k) and away you go. Sure, a $15k investment is a lot, but look at OP, who spent $3k themselves on games and that's one person. Fill some black box fakes and you'll make your money back in no time. In time, grading services will find a new flag to add to their list to try and get past an effort like this. Quite like online scams and malware, the ones doing the scamming with fakes will find a way to be one step ahead yet again. The question is with a situation like this, is it wise to spend money into it? It's not. People who trust these services are going to have a bad time.
  2. The rookie is the grader quoted above and even if he didn't, he's the "chief" grader and he's putting his credibility behind the statement. This is what happens when you have hobbyists thinking they can make a buck and their knowledge is anecdotal. No one from Wata (... bad name) are packaging engineers, were involved with game packaging or have any kind of certification beyond "We have purchased a lot of sealed games". Show me the employee on the payroll who worked at Technicolor or some place similar and then you can start being credible.
  3. Are you still against doing any in-person meet up to complete the sale?
  4. http://computer-software.marktplaats.nl/spelcomputers-overige/377553917-vectrex-vecaves-spikes-spree-cge-2002-homebrew-complete.html Thanks to GGG for alerting me to this. We did not sell the homebrews to someone in the Netherlands. If you can speak the language, please report as a scam. Thanks.
  5. The buyer has paid for all three of these! I figured $200-$300 in the end... pretty shocked to say the least.
  6. Wow, no kidding. :0 Anyway, 3 hours to go!
  7. Yet another thing I owe you for! You know if you ever need anything stateside, it'd be my pleasure to get it for you.
  8. That's what I found while googling the game. How true that is, I can't say but it's the only info I have.

  10. Sorry for not getting back to anyone, but before I replied I wanted to look for the overlay. The good news is I found it. It was in my Cube Quest box, which I also got at CGE 2002 and am also selling. I decided to post these on eBay and let 'em run. Links coming shortly.

  13. I'll still 10 years away from my mid-life crisis, so I'll pass.
  14. You have more I need but they are the pricier stuff so I either have to hold off or look elsewhere. Will probably snag that Tagin Dragon manual next week either way just so I can have that CIB.
  15. Thanks for the tip. You should have an order coming through soon for 7 boxes and 1 manual. I don't need the foam or sleeves, would you be able to flatten the boxes down for cheaper shipping?
  16. Welcome to Port's Inane Quest To Get The Rest Of The NES Boxes And Manuals To Have Every Game CIB Quest! Fun! Excitement! First off, I'm using portnoyd2 because I originally registered about 8-9 years, forgot my password and the email account attached to it has been dead for at least 5 years. So here's the deal. Open below means I'm open for business, i.e. I have Paypal funds. When it goes to closed, no dinero means no buy-o. So right now things are: OPEN Simply look through this list and send me a PM with what you have that I need. I won't bullshit you - I know that a Chubby Cherub box is just a tad expensive, but I also know that a World Games manual isn't worth close to double digits. The manual list is fucking nasty. Don't remind me! As far as condition, no big tears or extreme wear. At this point, I'm pretty flexible and don't care about getting 9.5/10 condition or whatever in most cases. However, any game that is bolded, I will want good condition boxes, meaning no tears, no crushing, box 100% intact. It's just three of them, the last 3 black box games I need. All the others ones I have except for Stack-Up, Baseball and Golf are a genuine 10/10 so I want to at least keep these three in the ballpark. I'd appreciate it if you had offer prices in your PM but I know most people will just go "make an offer" so do whatever suits you best. Soon I will be adding a box and manual trade list as well.
