  1. Here's one of my earliest, probably around xmas 77. Man that T shirt takes me back.. I had a few just like it.. You got chess???? I guess that's your parents wanted you to have some educational stuff rather than just blasting all day huh?
  2. I tried it that way and I can't find a way of keeping the crop size in pixels the same, plus it is hard to keep them from wiggling around. This is how I ended up doing it. I made a mask with white paper, and a couple Combat carts to keep the subject aligned. When I preview, it auto crops to the size of the mask. I though it would be easier if I setup a jig and a tripod and did digital photos, but some of the metallic ones need creative lighting... What really sucks is I just tossed an old parallel port flatbed scanner that was legal sized. You could do 8 at once on it. I also am attaching 1 scan of how they are coming out. Each picture is 1020x1161. what a shame... Well I guess you will just have to bite the bullet and get don to it. God I would hate that. Perhaps you could enlist a couple of students from the local tech to help out for a few pennies? Nice skydiver cart BTW
  3. You make a fair point, but I have to defend a few of the old games here. It was a time when it was a revolution to have a computer system in your home. Pong to the 2600 was a massive leap, full colour etc just having a blob you could move around the screen and interact with something was so radical in those days. Sure some are boring as hell today but back then, and lets not forget we were kids too, it was new exciting and fun. I remember playing freeway, how simple was that but I played it for hours. Can't imagine I would play it for more than 1 game now. It still happens today, as new techniques are learnt better games come out and make the older title look pretty poor, just compare PC games of 2 years ago and today. I'm sure the same would apply. But yes some are so simplistic that even then they were a little boring, but was that only because you had played something better in the Atari range?
  4. I bought it a few years ago and I'm in the UK, but I have no reason to beleive the $4.00 wasn't the original price.. I.e it's not some liquidation stock that's been bought (is that K-Mart?) and then sold till the stock was gone. I can't remeber what I gave for it, could have been around £25-£35. In fact that would be about right as I probably woudn't have paid any more.. Iv'e never used it nor has it been used. I do like it alot thou because it's so clean.
  5. I'm not able to say weather there's a NTSC version, but yes your observations seem right. All PAl versions I wonder why???. I also have the TV boy which had 128 games on it too. Argos started selling them a few years ago and I bought one just for the fun of it. has lots of great titles on there. Great for a quick blast.
  6. 'm trying to find out how many diff types of rom scanner were mad. I myself have a Video Game Brain by RGA international. Just wondered what you all have and how many diff types are out there.
  7. I bet you could get 6 titles layed on the scanner on each pass then just crop or cut out each one.. Unless your doing that already?? BTW no need to do the preview scan it's a waste of time because once set up you wont need to do it..
  8. I was just remembering my earliest memory of Atari, and it was when I was about 7 years old and it was the arcade machine lunar lander in B&W. I was at diving school in Irlam Manchester UK and after we had finished we hung out in the lobby at the pool. I didn't have any coins to play but I watched this guy. And loved it.
  9. You mean cardboard box: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-pepsi-invaders_11875.html AFAIK no instructions were included. Or did you perhaps mean Tooth Protectors? http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-tooth-protectors_14893.html That top URL dosn't work
  10. You mean cardboard box: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-pepsi-invaders_11875.html AFAIK no instructions were included. Or did you perhaps mean Tooth Protectors? http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-tooth-protectors_14893.html Do you actually own all these rare pics you keep putting up in reply to my posts? I would love to have a small selection of them.. I have a few and I'm working on getting more. I would have like that pne of a kind star wars game just finished on ebay. Went for a cool $1600 phew..
  11. hmmm that's interesting... According to comments made on AA in the game rarity guide the pepsi invaders came with styrofoam packaging... So would the title come in a cardboard box then?? I'm confused (not hard really)
  12. I'll give you a £5 for it and I'll be your best friend forever......................... pleeeease :)
  13. You're sooo right. There is no way 5001 games on it....
  14. Does anybody have a link or picture of the original pepsi invaders styrofoam box. And i'm not sure perhaps you could tell me, were there any instructions with the rep hand outs?
  15. Sweet.... Now I know....... Can anybody say why it's a re-release of only 50, or is that stating the obvious? Why not make 2000 etc?? what's the reasoning?
  16. Label says 5001 games............. I must admit there are tons here.... some very strange ones too.
  17. Not sure, I couldn't find any name when I last scoured over it........ Could be though...
  18. Ingersol stand for atari 2600 with game slots. Fully boxed with original invoice.. Rare? I don't know but Iv'e not seen another.. Iv'e got a few items that I'm not sure about so I have to ask the experts
  19. Anybody come accross this clone before/ There's no name on the box or system and no titles when it's powered up. I feel it's arabic in origin. It list 5001 games but it hasn't got that many, well it keeps counting but some of the games repeat. Got fed up after a hundred or so cycles through. What is it? Had it for 5 years now....
  20. Hi all new to the forum but been collecting for a few years now and I have quite a few titles and hardware etc. I just wanted peoples opinion on this cart I bought a couple of years ago. It's the prototype stunt cycle, by atari. It's MIB and complete, signed copy number 49 of 50 made with hand writen label. Box is orange and obviously it never made it into production before being hacked by atari into the dukes of hazard. I think it's very very rare but I would welcome some input. I can post pics.
  21. I have one that is rare, or at least I have never seen it before. Now without digging around in my collection I can't remember the name, But it's a wire frame item with two wooden selves on each side and the wood is covered in formica to match the atari unit. It has all the slots. Pretty cool unit. I should take some oics and post.
